Is Google Translator working for everyone? I tried to translate that SS0S site using Google and it keeps failing, only showing the translator frame multiple times. I’m trying to muddle my way through knowing what little JPN I know, but I’m barely coming up with anything.

Also, of course it will translate character names “wrong” because it will think its a word, so you should know how it translates name of which character, based on their name meanings. It will put Kazuki as “fire moon”, Kibagami Genjuro as “Tusk God illusion Juro”, Haohmaru as “The rule of right and the rule of might-maru” etc

Google normally gives me something. Right now it’s giving me nothing, as if it’s broken. I’ve tried it in Firefoix 3.51, Safari 4 and IE8, and on two different machines, all with the same results. But I can’t find anyone else having this problem.

The translate text part still works at least. I just have to keep copying and pasting page contents to get it translated. It’s a pain in the ass, and that doesn’t even count trying to muddle through the actual translation (e.g. “The brim approaches? Unavailable” = ???). I was hoping that someone (Xenozip?) had already done all this grunt work and could upload it or share it, but I guess I have to do this the hard way.

According to japanese tier list, Rasetsu Genjuro has rank 93, Shura Genjuro 69, Rasetsu Galford 66 and Shura Galford 43. But personally I think all of them are strong.

Genjuro versions are more or less similar in power I think, Shura Genjuro has Triple Linked Hack that crosses up and can use Waterdrop Blade grab after his super is blocked by opponent; while Rasetsu Genjuro can mix his Triple Aerial Hack with simple dash grab, and his Reverse Sakura: Iris projectile allows to set up unblockable traps; and both can connect their supers from normal grab (Guard Destroyer grab)

Shura Galford can use his dog to prolong his combos tremendously, can zone and set up some traps, but his super sucks. Rasetsu Galford cannot zone but is very solid up close, with fast and damaging Strike Heads grab, and ability to combo in all of his special moves and his super, plus he may be even better unarmed because he gains very fast and damaging Plasma Fist in that case; In fact when I played at 2DF and used him, I tried to distance myself from opponent and do Weapon-Discarding Taunt just to get Plasma Fist and opponent prevented me from throwing away my weapon by all means

I should note that Galford (and other 3 ninja characters) can link their moves from simple CD (and other characters cannot). Also, Galford has immunity against Sogetsu because he can always block last hit of Sogetsu 14-hitter combo, preventing Sogetsu to get free Rage, and I think he is Sogetsu’s worst matchup (he also has teleports to get out of corner). That says something because in same japanese tier list Shura Sogetsu has rank 80 and Rasetsu Sogetsu has rank 95, higher of which are only Zankuro and Shura Nakoruru

Yeah, I’ve been doing that with Rasetsu Galford right now. CD slash into his plasma sword(C version), and it looks pretty beastly. I just wish I had a practice mode to see if it’s a true combo or not. But something I have to ask. Can you cancel the 14 hit combo at any point? Or are their certain points? Cause I usually cancel into Plasma Sword(a or b version) after the tenth hit of his combo. I remember the CPU blocking it when I stopped at 4-8, or was that just my timing?

Also, while Mina has low defence herself, she also deals monstrous damage and has most damaging super in game, which kinda evens the field

Galford slash is one of the best characters in the game. I dont know about the # rating blackshroud has but its agreed by everyone that galford slash is one of the best characters in the game. He is one of the best cause he has speed and strength. He has no weakness. All his slash’s are great. The best poeple in the world at ss4 are the koreans. They still play ss4 super competivly. ill post some galford and genjuro expert matches for you.

Genjuro slash is the only way to go, genjuro bust is good cause he can bounce his projectile and make unblockable set ups. But genjuro slash can take way more damage in combo.

galford slash BNB

CD cancel into QCB medium slash(ok so at this piont you have hit with cd and then sent the dog at your opponent, the dog will grab your opponent and at this time you can do what ever you want) Now i will just tell you galford slash’s best possible combo

CD cancel into QCB medium slash- Jump hard slash cross over(so you should end up behind them)- running light slash- down medium slash cancel into QCF any slash. This is one of the best combo’s in the game i dont use galford slash so i cant give you much more info

I cant give you any info on genjuro. He is a good poker lol

EDIT: galford bust sucks but i also think he is the cooler galford:) I know galford can cancel his combo slash on the 13th hit. There are afew others, but go for the 13 hit cancel 1st. You can do CD-aa-bb-cc-abc-ccc-SUPER(or any special move).

On the other hand Her overhead arrow is one of the fastest overheads in the game. Her down kick in the air is super safe on block. Her super is safe if done at the right distance. But really you dont wanna get a super with her cause she has one of the fastest overhead attacks in the game. If i had one word to describe mina it would be “begginer friendly” :).

down hard slash = Sick anti air

standing medium slash = good keep away tool

down medium slash= really good low attack that goes full screen(maybe her best slash)

standing hard slash= good anti air, good keep away tool, combo’s after overhead arrow(rdp light slash)

jumping hard slash= NOT SAFE, great cross up,super good damage

jumping medium slash= good keepaway tool

jumping kick= always use this in the air when opponent is close to you, all her other air attacks are to slow and will be counterd.

Stradegy

RUN,run,run,attack,run,run. I would say mina is the best character in the corner. So dont be afraid to run into a corner. Whats improtant is ounce your inn the corner Be very cautious. using mina is pretty simple, it makes me think of The basics of halo which is which ever team puts more bullets in the air wins most the time. If your opponet is half screen away, or more, you should be trying to attack them with as much ammo as you can. Ounce your opponent is less than half a screen away i would play a more safe style. Try not to ever use mina’s slashes upclose unless you know they will hit. Upclose rely on her crouching/standing/jumping kick and her down kick in the air. Try not too jump torwards your opponent to much. Inn the air is where mina is hurt the most, so really be carefull when doing jumping attacks.

Mina’s three best moves are:
sungans lure-dp backwords-light slash
salutation of sungan-dp backwords- medium slash
kajifuji- during jump down kick

These 3 moves really define mina. First of all sungans lure is not meant to be an attack . But if you oponent jumps into the arrow on its way up it will hit them. SO it can be used as an anti air, Its actully a really good anti air when your onpponent is cornerd.Besides that sungans lure just makes salutation of sungan possible. So only use sungans lure when you are far away from enemyIf you are close and you really need to do sungans lure you can do roll backwords-sungans lure. You can send upp a max of three arrows, after 3 they will just fall down when you shoot them upp.

Salutation of sungan is one of the best moves in the game. This move has 2 usses. Use one is if you have done sungans lure(shoot arrow up) Doing salutatioin of sungan will make mina piont at you and it will make that same arrow come down from the sky and hit you. Use 2 is if you havent done sungans lure, salutation of sungan will just make mina piont at you but no arrow will come. This is a really good fient. So salutation of sungans two usses are
1.overhead attack
2.fient attack

kajifuji- during jump down kick, is a VERY underated move. mastering this move is what seperates great mina players from good ones. The lower you preform this move to the ground the better.Doing this move high in the air is just dumb so dont do it. This move is so fast it can actully be done right from the ground even though its an air move, but it takes some timming and practice. This move is not meant to deal damage but more to make your opponent freeze cause you can attack after kajifuji before opponent can even counter. So do kajifu and after it switch off from high and low attacks to confuse your enemy. There is alittle input trick i use to do kajifuji right form the ground accuratly.

Normal input
up-down kick as fast as you can

advanced input(This will do the move right from the ground)
down-up-down kick as fast as you can

Shinimabui’s grief- dp - any slash,medium and hard slash versions should only be used as a running tool, They are mainly gona be used in the corner. Medium and hard versions of Shinimabui’s grief are good moves, but only when they not used very much. If you opponent can predict you are gona do it, then they can jump slash and hit you out of it. So use those two with alot of caution. Light slash version of Shinimabui’s grief should barley ever be used, But when you do use it make sure you are not inn the corner. This is a good tatic cause your opponent will be so used to you only using Shinimabui’s grief in the corner, that they will never see it comming. PLus light version is pretty fast. If Shinimabui’s grief hits opponent in the back you can get a free small pursuit (down bc) after it.

Heavenly bow heart- hold back for 2 secs then hit forward+Kick, i would never use this at all. Its very unsafe.

Earthly bow heart- hold back for 2 secs then hit forward+any slash attack (sonic boom motion with guile) Only do this far away. This is a move you want to come out fast so i would recomend only using light slash version. Also for those who have used back forward characters like bison or vega and blanka or even remy, know that you can be charging back while you do your regular attacks. SO example

hold back-down back medium-forward light slash, this will make it so right after you do the down medium slash you will do Earthly bow heart right away. Instead of having to wait liek an extra second to charge the move.

champlu good night-This move is slow, its basicly useless except in one situation. This move should be used to lure your opponent to you. Kinda like a taunt. As soon as any skilled opponent see’s mina do this move they will run at you. If your opponent is on the ground they can run and hit you easily while you are doing this move. So the trick is to do it when they are inn the air. mina is weakest when she goes up against an opponent in the air, but alot of her good slashes are in the air so a good mina will spend alot of time in the air. So good opponents will use a skill called the bunny hop() to beat mina. Bunny hop is when your opponent is jumping slashing as soon as they hit the ground. So they are just hoping around and jump slashing trying to maybe catch you while you are jump slashing. Alot of good player use bunny hop because pressing jump as soon as you hit the ground makes it so your opponent cant grab you when you land from jumping.So its good to use in general. champlu good night is a anti bunny hop move. As soon as you read that your opponent is just jump slashing over and over, use champlu good night when they are just jumping. They will see you do champlu good night, but they cant do any thing till they hit the ground so it really makes them charge at you.By the time they get to mina you will have enough time to counter them with either up-hard slash or down medium. Here is an example of me using champlu good night in this manner vs vansibel in our 2006 ssvsp tournament.

champlu come here-This move can be as fast as a jab or as slow as a super. The trick is only use champlu come here when champlu is close to you. The move will last less than a second. champlu come here is a really good baiting tool. Do it when your opponent is close to you and on the ground. The best way to set up for come here champlu is by throwing out a jab, this will make your opponent defensive. right after you jab do champlu come here. You opponent will see you do come here champlu and think you are open to be punished. But if you do this right you will have enough time to block thier attack and counter attack. Here is me using this champlu come here stradegy in a match vs kardboardking.

umichimuns rage- Qcf- cd (super)- this will cross up if you are at the right distance from your opponent. This is one of those moves where you wanna be at the perfect distance.When i say distance i mean the amount of distance from you to your opponent when you land from umichimuns rage. There are 2 safe places to hit your opponent when you land from umichimuns rage, either right next to opponent or right in front of opponent. MAKE SURE that you hit them, and hit as close to them as possible. Most the time umichimuns rage will be blocked, thats ok. When its blocked you have plenty of time to jump again or roll backwords. There is only one safe distance to do umichimuns rage and not hit opponent, And that is when your oponent is right in front of you. Basicly almost touching you. Now when you do this you land with just the right amount of time to block. So alittle trick i like to do is sword grab (qcb-forward) right before I land from umichimuns rage.ANd since at that time you still wont have your weapon it will do sword disarm, instead of sword deflect. Which will disarm your opponent if they try to hit you when you land from umichimuns rage. Here is me preforming sword catch after umichimuns rage in a match vs vansibel

salutation of sungan-dp backwords+medium- down medium (2 hits)

kajifuji- during jump down kick(must be done very close to the ground)- down kick (3 hits)

salutation of sungan-dp backwords+medium- hard slash (only works at med to close range, but not too close) (2 hits)

running kick- down bc(2 hits)

Opponent in the corner-salutation of sungan-dp backwords+medium- hard slash-down bc (3 hits)

oponent is very close- salutation of sungan-dp backwords+medium- down kick (2 hits)

Earthly bow heart- hold back for 2 secs then hit forward+light slash attack-down medium (4hits)

Of course there are alot of other combo’s, alot more complicated ones but these are the basic ones you should use.

In conclusion mina is just alittle girl so dont be afraid to run from your enemy. Also do you and your opponent a favor, and put champlu to sleep early .
