Samurai Shodown Anthology

Uh kasuki is only fire, :). Kasuki in which game ss6? here is a small kasuki ss6 faq i posted on gamefaqs.

combo slash-med-med-hard-DP any slash(explosive grab) is kasuki’s bread and butter combo. Its really good cause kasuki has one of the best combo slash’s in the game.his combo slash is fast and it hits far. If you have a super do combo slash-med-med-hard-super. Otherwise stick to combo slash-med-med-hard-dp any slash.

hcf kick SUCKS, its a bad move and i dont know why they added it for ssvi. It really has no purpose and it leaves you open. PLus it is pretty weak and slow.

RDP kick is a parry, So if your opponent swings into kasuki during rdp kick he will explode like he used to.

Here is best combo’s for kasuki to be used in a match
(Kasuki full charge fire ball combo)

close medium slash-qcf hard slash-dash- while dashing hit combo slash-med-med-hard-dp med slash. (easier in corner but works any where)

combo slash-med-med-hard- DP light+kick

close med slash-qcf hard slash-dash- while dashing hit combo slash-med-med-hard-super(easier in corner but works any where)

close med slash-qcf hard slash-dash-running med slash-super or dp any slash(easier in corner but works any where)

close med slash-qcf hard slash-dash-running hard slash-(knocks ooponent down) charge your fireball ounce .

standing kick-qcf hard slash-dash-while dashing hit combo slash-med-med-hard-dp any slash or super.(easier in corner but works any where)

running medium slash-qcf hard slash-dash-while dashing hit combo slash med-med-hard-dp any slash or super

One thing i want you to know about the qcf hard slash fire ball combo’s is they are all possible any where on the screen(qcf hard slash combo’s are any combo where you use qcf hard slash:)). But they are easiest when you are in the corner or your oppoent is in the corner. So practice them in the corner, then ounce you get good practice them in the middle of the screen.

last thing you should know is any time you knock your opponent down charge you fire ball. You want at least one fireball at all times.

kasuki can cancel 4 things into his explosive grab,

standing medium slash
running medium slash
standing kick
down hard slash(only in corner)

I own 1-5 for the AVS,

but I bought this just to get part 6

I hope it’s worth it!

You said you’d stop trying to put her into tiers. Are you a liar now?

Well that’s okay. I’ll just use your own words: “So what you say is irrelavent to me.”

Bye.

I won’t stop, all you know is statistics, correct? you dont even know how to use rera even vs an average player. You don’t use rera right? but you wanna tell me how good she is just with #'s. Is it not true that you dont even play ss5sp? Which makes me wonder why you know all rera’s statistics. Alot of expert players who play ssvsp dont even know about rera’s quick stop.

Anyways i appreciate the video and stuff i just dont agree that rera isnt top tier. You’re not even debating what im telling you makes her safe. She is safe vs alot of the cast depending on the range she attacks, and what slash. Thats what im saying your just giving me #, you’re not putting into account range of slash’s, character health, attack power, # of characters that can counter slash backdash etc etc.

The agreement was you admit quick stop is safe and i stop saying rera is top tier… so no one agrees. I can say you are correct that quick stop med slahs inst 100% safe , But in reality its 98% safe if you attack from the right distance.

Every time i ask you some thing you dont want to answer you say nothing about the comment. Like i didnt even say it, thats why im telling you same things over and over.

Gonna go the the game store and see if I can get a copy of this game =D

I finally said screw it and just ordered the Japanese version. Has anyone actually found the American version at a store?

No such luck over here ="(

for the Wii, yes at gamestop
for ps2, nope

attn people trying to get a copy of the domestic release: have you guys tried eBay? There’s a vendor that has a bunch of copies who has 100% feedback. That’s where I plan to get mine anyways, but I would have definitely tried that before going for the expensive import.

Just try Amazon, it’s a lot easier to grab it from there.

That was my first place to look, but unfortunately they are backordered for the time being.

It was only $25 on PLay-Asia. Not too expensive.

Xenozip:

Hey Xenozip! You have frame data for Samurai Shodown VI? Would you be so kind to send me any frame data you have for the game? Or hell, any Samurai Shodown game? I love to collect frame data on 2D games, and frame data for SNK games is scarce.

If you don’t have whole sets, er, do you happen to have any data for Suija and Enja at least? I need it for a project. Thanks!

Picked it up on ps2 for $15

I just recently picked up Samurai Spirits Zero Special for the MVS (previously owned it for the AES). I tried to recall some samsho sites back dating back from 2003. Then, I remembered a japanese site dedicated to SSV/SSVS.

http://www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~hitokiri/index.html

Contains alot of frame data from Arcadia, plus character strategies. Haven’t read through this whole thread. So, someone could’ve mentioned it already. Just thought I’d throw it out there.

I know that site but I didnt get to its info yet.
I suppose people who would want to read it should use translation tools in Features section of www.samurai-shodown.com

I wasnt around for like 20 days, but I see some new people in the thread. I hope more people will start to play on 2dfighter.com

Now I want to hear what kind of updates people need first:
-adding more info to SS5sp character sections here http://spirits.kaillera.ru/viewforum.php?f=29 (like adding info that was previously posted on HS)
-adding SS6 character sections to same forum
-adding some info to SS4 character sections here
http://spirits.kaillera.ru/viewforum.php?f=27
-adding Samurai Spirits Asura Zanmaden article to the Storyline section of site www.samurai-shodown.com
-upgrading character sections in the same section of site

I plan to do all the stuff eventually but I want to know what people need to be done in first place

Post some of your match vids (yours or ‘local’) on your youtube account, preferably so I can suscribe to you.

Also, I posted a question about Shiki on your quality test vid.

Man I used to really love SS, though I only ever played it extremely casually with my room mate in college.

I like the chick with the bow, whatever her name was.

@ Tech Romancer
I will describe SSAZ versions of Shiki

In short, Shura Shiki has
-anti-air uppercut
-dash sweep
-grabs (one plain and other multipart grab)
-double jump into air salto maneuver where you should aim to land at opponent to attack
-a teleport (not sure how it looks because havent seen it used)
-her super is a dash in autocombo, basically

Rasetsu Shiki has
-projectile appearing at one of three places (it doesnt flies forward)
-dash high/low move
-grabs that poison/mix controls
-reversal
-fast teleport to 4 locations
-unblockable move that deals damage to both her and opponent (well like Yoshimitsu uses his harakiri in Tekken)
-levitation mode where she can move in 3D space and fire semi-homing projectiles with different flight arcs; she can use normals too; in fact its possible to fly low to ground or behind opponent’s back and attack him with levitating normals then land and start a combo
-her super drains life from opponent and restores her own life
-her levitating super makes her fire 6 smaller projectiles at once that home in onto opponent’s location

Both Shiki versions have a slow short-range unblockable attack (double slash for Shura Shiki and split kick drop for Rasetsu Shiki), but those are counted as normals, albeit unblockable ones

@ PelvicThrust:
The chick with bow is Mina

Nice buy man! I love Samurai Spirits Zero Special, it’s one of my favorite fighting games ever. However, the fact that I don’t physically own it and the NeoGeo hardware is driving me crazy (emulation only does not satisfy at all)! That is why why when I get myself a Neo Geo MVS (w/ UNIBIOS included), one of the games I’ll get first will be SSVS. I’ll have to be careful when buying it online though, since I remember a while back that someone was selling a fake on ebay.
