Well yeah he was broken in SSV, he had that infinite. I tried doing it in SS6, and it didn’t seem to work from what I tried. May have to check again though.
Finally, another game to enjoy with my Wii Hori sticks!
RIMRURU!!!
SS3 is a beautiful fukken game and if I had all the time in the world I would still practice it. I’d casual anyone that game anytime. Remember how everyone had that “holy shit this game looks like a fukken anime” moment, when playing Guilty Gear X for the first time? Well, for me those moments came from FF3, Waku Waku 7, Last Blade 1 and especially SS3. First time that I chained rimururu’s d,d slash 4 times in a row, it looked like a damn power geyser and I thought that shit was too good. Then I discovered how Haomaru’s wind goes upwards, Shizumaru’s umbrella rotating thing that does 20 hits, and all other old moves felt somehow upgrades to all previous moves. I was at awe how beautiful these moves look and how much they actually hurt.
It’s just that there are too many fighters out there that are good for one reason or another and I had to weed out what didn’t suit me.
and yes, rimururu.
@ Broken Yoshitora topic
He may be good but it doesnt means he should be a god tier. In SS5sp he is downgraded BUT dont forget he was downgraded from god tier, and he’s still very solid character - wide array of special moves, good combos, good pressing and “quest for 7th sword” (which you can achieve in SS6 by connecting his Secret Ougi)
@ SS3 topic
Graphics-wise and atmosphere-wise SS3 is awesome, and I kinda can agree on no character really dominating (because everyone has an infinite). As Deuce once said, the game could be EASILY fixed by shortening the time of character’s recoveries from being hit in the back. That, and other flaws are small life gauges (if compare to SS4)/big damages (if compare to other SS games); and ridiculous air turtling - people can reach you by just jumping towards you while holding block, if you air slash them they block it and punish you mid-air, and if you anti-air it has no effect as well.
Also
SS3 + Rasetsu/Bust Ukyo + Upper Grade (no blocking, infinite rage) + mash his VERY EASY super command each time you see opponent releasing block button, and then each time he tries to pick weapon up. 99% of people get owned by that, and as bonus you can beat arcade mode with no continues and often with achieving perfect wins
So I was able to get this on the Wii, since its the only version available around here. Wish training mode for SS1 - 5 had a “computer blocks after 1st hit” option, since I know SS4’s combo meter isn’t that reliable to accurately determine if the combo works. But yeah, the emulation on the Wii version seems fine, even though there’s small loading on SS5. I still miss that funny sounding English announcer from XBox SS5.
One question, how do you play as the EX characters on SS6 on the Wii? I know the PS2 version is Hold L2 and press any button.
Agreed with you at FatalFuryD (Cept I like Sam Sho III lol), damn I wanna play some Sam Sho III now, I think me and Gual are gonna play some tomorrow lol.
Versus Addict- Rimururu is really really strong in Sam Sho III…I’d argue top tier. But Black Shroud is right, everyone has something in Sam Sho III…even pathetic Amakusa has something.

I played today a guy with nickname Shinzo in SS3 on 2dfighter.com. I just used same technique with Ukyo I just wrote about. He tried several characters, including Ukyo under same setting and still I won like, 20 times in a row. Then he concentrated only on playing Ukyo/Bust/UpperGrade and finally beated me. I would like some of you to play vs me as Rimururu so I can see is she really THAT strong
SS3 is a broken fukken game and incomplete. Every character has an infinite. There is things that can be abused that shouldn’t be tolerated.
Fun for casuals I guess, but playing it seriously is a joke. Sorta like XmvsSF; nice to watch, fun atmosphere but competitive play is laughable.
We need to get more people in on SS6.
its not single player only…
I also think Bust Ukyo is top tier though for other than reasons you listed.
See the battle you just transcribed would happen like this if you and me were playing:
- Whoever makes the first mistake loses the match.
So it’s an even matchup.
If I make a mistake with Rimu I eat super.
If you make a mistake with Bust Ukyo and get thrown, or get hit by Slash Rimu’s Stun special, you die to the infinite combo. (She can land it off a throw anywhere)
I will actually use this strategy though against poor Gualberto as more of a reason to torture him during casuals lol.
It surely has its issues, and yes we need more on Sam Sho 6, but since I like like all of them, I know this, different people have different tastes. I play them all so I can tell people it doesn’t matter what they wanna play I’ll play it with them.
Also don’t worry Tenka is about to get a ressurection on my channel very soon…
Tenka will get super resurrection they day they will dump atomiswave version of it and will add netplay feature to atomiswave emu.
While I can say that voices in arcade version suck, during that 25-character revoice thing for SSA SS6 they made Suija’s voice actually worser and now he sounds like Enel from One Piece.
As Suija is my main character, it kinda evens those two voice packs ^^
They need to make Tenka Special, put the blood back in, tweak a few things, add a few more characters, add all the old levels, and add some more things and make it netplay. Black Shroud also did you see my reply about what Rimu could do in that matchup vs. Bust Ukyo? It’s pretty much even if the Rimu (Slash) player knows how to land the infinite combo and how easy she can set it up.
Also if I were to put a tier list for Sam Sho III:
I’d say:
S+
Rimu (Slash), Basara, Ukyo (Bust), Genjuro, Rimu (Bust)
S-
Haohmaru (Bust), Gaira, Nakoruru (Slash), Haohmaru (Slash), Shizumaru, Nako (Bust)
Mid Tier
Hanzo, Kyoshiro, Galford
Bottom Tier
Amakusa
lol… (Why do people even say this shit?)
I personally (so far) like 6 a lot. The cast selection is one of the most appealing things. I just wanted to know what other people played and if there were any characters that stood out as being unplayable (for whatever reason), since I like having real people to play in any of my games.
@Black Shroud
Thanks for the educated response. You are hella nice and knowledgeable =D
So is netplay pretty much where it’s at? Do people ever have in person tournaments/gatherings?
You’re telling me this, because I need another from srk telling me what I should like. Since you’re actually a decent guy I’m just gonna say I know what games I like, I’ve played fighting games for a while. I was gonna play SS6 but all the shit Japan has is stripped out of our version; I want the damn wolf & hawk and extra grooves and be able to throw a fricken bomb at the other guy.
Ssa
SSA (Wii) arrived today & overall I’m enjoying it even though the emu feels a bit sloppy.
SS VI by itself on the menu is weird ?
480p Yeah !!
No Widescreen Support which is lame when u have a HDtv : (
Things like rain in Wanfu stage don’t animate ?
I only managed to get an aterial spray on SS so far but… blood is intact on all games.
Whoa there. I never said what you should like. I’m just saying that game is seriously flawed and shouldn’t be considered for tourney play (IMO). I love SVC chaos, but I also have to admit that game needs serious work to get out of the broken territory.
Also, I see another reason why the SSA SS6 port sucks…good thing I use my import version.
Um…where?
This.
Atomiswave emulation is going to be BANANAS! Especially if either Damdai or Ponder incorporates the emu that runs it into 2DF/GGPO. I always wanted to play Blue Dolphin

@ Koikaze
SS6 netplay = in japanese version only, and will work only if you and your console are located in Japan and are connected to Japanese net.
Also, SNK rarely bothered to add netplay to their game releases for USA and other countries.
The only possible way to play SS6 online is wait for Atomiswave or PS2 emulator to get a netplay plugin;
Lack of online play in SS6 for most part means no Andrew, Iroha, Ochamaro and Sugoroku online play, since like every other character aside of them is present in older versions of SS that do have netplay
^^There’s no way in hell anyone’s gonna make a online game for PS2 ever again for the States.(It’s just way past its prime and everyone has moved on to PSN/XBL) It makes no sense and at least in Japan, their close proximity at least gives them decent net battles.
