What do you mean by “affordable”? We’re very affordable in video-game-development terms - moreso than any $40m game, and moreso than other fighting games per character…it’s just that consumers aren’t used to thinking about things in those terms.
And no, it doesn’t really matter what they look like, it matters how many frames of animation they have. So unless people would accept junk, a stickman wouldn’t make any difference. We wouldn’t want to put that in the game anyway, anything cut-rate would look terrible by comparison to existing characters.

There are tons of people that play Bella. I play her myself, but I am god awful at this game, I forsook this when I first played marvel, I knew Skullgirls wasn’t going to be easy. But so far this is the most fun fighting game I’ve ever played, so whether I go 0-4 like the last tournament or 4-0 like never, I’ll still keep playing this game.
