I dont know guys maybe it’s cuz I use a ps2 controller but I havent had otoshi randomly come out once since the update. Also I never do otoshi outside the corner after ex tatsu so it feels the same. Also the two otoshi hits to meaty hado still works i know it does’t on a couple characters cuz of wake up timing I think. I just step back a little further and toss it to fix that though…
well im still getting c.lk, c.lp, c.mk xx OOPSIE instead of shouoken post patch. I’m on stick too, so I know I’m doing something wrong.
negative edge otoshi is absolutely impossible in 2012, completely removed from the game.
I half wish it wasn’t, because now I’m not getting otoshi followups from time to time =/

But what I have noticed (playing vs Cody) that the otoshi would sometimes whiff completely midscreen. Whereas this never happened in previous versions.

The game engine allows special moves to be executed with the release of a button, as well as the hit of a button. It’s intended to make inputs easier, because if you press the button for your special move to early, when you release it the move will still come out. For Sakura, a lot of people found that they would get otoshi accidentally when buffering a dp into a crouching forward. Capcom changed it so you can no longer negative edge that move.
all glory to Capcom for it, now for the rare time when I’m actually not a moron and I manage to see the cr.mk get blocked and don’t hit punch I actually don’t get punished for my recognition lol
For Otoshi, not only negative edge is removed, so is input leniency, that’s probably why some of us have been missing more of them lately. I think this is a very good thing though.
It’s just as bad as before. I’ve gotten it a few times in block strings.

with that neg edge otoshi gone, now when i get in a fireball war and i input ex otoshi all I get is a sweep now. And this happens several times in a row lol. these shortcuts have screwed me over lol
