I knew it I ain’t crazy,the thing is the last hit of the ex tatsu was delayed for some reason, so now you have to do the motion with a different timing then before, but it is indeed more restrict it’s a nerf to be honest.
I think everyone just always pressed the button for otoshi too early, and ended up accidentally negative edging it without realizing. I noticed it was tougher too, then realized what was going on and fixed it in about 3 seconds
I had trouble with this too. As was said, input the motion a little later than perhaps you are used to.
I believe the shortcut version still works, I got a couple of otoshis out of my cr.mk > dp practice still from me using a brawlstick with awful stock parts and having wonky button inputs. Obviously I don’t work for Capcom, but I believe the change forces you to do a clean input of shortcut or :f: :d: :df:. That said, I did also test if it would no longer come out when you hit the buttons too early for U2 and it still does, so it does consider qcfx2 minus the last forward to be a normal input.
Can’t offer any help in regards to doing this on a pad, I never was able to dp cleanly before I started using a stick.

The last hit of her EX Tatsu doesn’t hit adon in this video, I don’t know if this has always happened but this never happened to me ever before AE2012.
I don’t know if I’m too far from adon, but i have never had that problem before. Haven’t tested it out fully or against other characters, but I’ve hit that combo a few times in AE2012.
Anybody else feel like hitting Otoshi after EX tatsu is a little tougher in 2012?

You mean the punches after you’re airborne? That feels the same, there’s always been some characters that I had to wait a little longer on to make it land.
Was counter hit far ST. HP > CR. MK possible in AE?
no idea, given that she almost nothing changed for her in AE you could probably test it by switching versions to super though
I’ll test it in a bit when the bosses leave the office. I generally go for cr. mk after st. hp cos I get a lot of counter hits with st. hp. Last night was the first time (that I know of) where counter hit st. HP > cr. MK xx HP shou combo’d (7 hits).
It’s possible yes. The spacing is so limited it looks useless, but I was able to do it on AE:PC.
Yeah, I just tried it. The spacing/timing is so tight. Doesn’t seem like i linked it cos I got 7 hits only.

Maybe it’s just me but tatsu links seem easier, I’m probably imagining it but I used to drop them around 20% of the time back when I played AE for a bit and now it’s noticeably under 10%. I haven’t really played SF4 seriously or almost at all in a long time but it seems like maybe they added another frame of hitstun as a stealth buff or something in 2012. You can also still 2 hit otoshi meaty charged fireball, IDK if you’re talking about another setup but that one still functions the same.
Played 2012 for the first time tonight, had a lot of matches against an Ibuki…and had at least 3 instances where the first hit of EX Tatsu landed and I still crossed over her and got owned. I am disappoint.
You still need to force stand for it to combo properly but I’ve never missed Cr. HP to Ex Tatsu yet on character it would often used to whiff on like Oni.
