How would you define bnb? Isn’t that the same as your go to punish combo? Or do you mean best punish as in most damage, and bnb as in hitconfirm?
By BnB I mean your go to hit confirm, usually started from a light poke.
Punish combo is what you do when Ryu whiffs a srk.
After a confirmed st. HP xx LK Tatsu. I often see ChrisG go for st. LP > cr. MK xx HP Shou follow up. Even with meter.
I’m curious why he would go for that over st. LK xx EX Tatsu. The former combo does less damage and less stun, and to my knowledge, EX Tatsu leads to much better options.

I would assume its to save (invest) whatever meter he has either for a super to kill once given the chance, or to hold onto it for the next round. He’ll usually burn his meter on the last round more often since…well, its the last round.
the meterless combo is also good for pushing the opponent to the corner and since he’s extremely good at continually applying pressure, the ex.tatsu setup is only used when necessary. Even then, I’ve seen him do ex.tatsu and not follow with U2 and lose a match because of it.
s.mk xx tatsu , s.hp xx tatsu , cr. hp xx ex tatsu (walk forward a bit) ultra 1.
… Do not ask a Sakura player for the best punish combo.
Oh wow I didn’t even know you could just walk forward a bit, all this time I was dashing and sometimes messing my up my input because of that.
Hey guys, while I was doing some combo research of my own I decided that I would share it with everyone and made a video, some feedback and and info on what combos I missed would be really helpful. I tried to only include the really useful combos but there are some in there that are just interesting.
Very nice, lots of stuff I didnt even know about. You forgot the ultimate swag combo on deejay though, cl.mk 3 times then cr.hp 2 times or st.hp , cr.hp. It’s nowhere near optimal damage wise, but really fun to do
I was trying that for a while but never got it to work, I always got far mk for the third one. Does it depend on his standing stance?
Could be, I usually can only land it after a deep jump in.
Also don’t forget you can link hp into otoshi against thawk and seth as well
Yeah the thing with doing it on Seth is you can only get it after cl.hp so you give up more damage than against Sagat. I had no idea it worked against t hawk though, damn I’m annoyed I missed that out lol.
There are far better stun combos you can pull off than the ones you showed, especially on deejay and dhalsim. Nice try though.
This took me a long time to test on the whole cast standing & crouching and to edit and record plus put all the info in. Pretty much has every character specific and universal combo you can think of ranging from hitconfirms, tatsu loops, meaty tatsu loops, blocked punish meatys, wakeup meatys, counterhit combos and so on plus even some new ones i found that i havnt seen anyone use.
