I think all the models were updated. To me, it seems her hair is darker and her eyes are more vibrant. Other than that, they might have slimmed her arms down a bit.
Wouldn’t surprise me if they were old (and not a reflection of the in-game models). They’ve clearly been staged specifically for those screenshots with the fancy camera angles etc… oh well.
On another note, is Zangief Sakura’s 2nd rival? I would thought it would naturally be Dan (Ken or ever Gouken could also work), but Zangief and Sakura rivalry has actually been a part of many literature. Udon Comics had it, the aftermath trailer has it, and there are other places.
I found it always odd how Sakura’s alpha 3 mid boss was E. Honda.
It’s too bad these wasn’t her new model. She looks genuinely more happier here.
I wish Karin was in it so she could be Sakura’s 2nd rival… :shake:
If EX Tatsu > Ultra works (which it should) it looks like the easiest Ultra setup ever. Free damage more or less.
Why would you do that over Ultra 1, which does more damage and is just as easy to juggle?
Because I fail at executing the dash > Ultra. I’ve spent hours practicing and my stupid hands just won’t do it right. shrug
ha ha its not that hard. ok maybe it is… i still whiff it every once in a while and i hate it
I wouldn’t be surprised if you can use ultra II to punish straight up jump ins which can make it very dangerous if that’s the case.
I also have problems with the dash -> ultra. Sometimes I just go straight to ultra after predicting the a point. Its slightly less damage but usually more consistent.
Could use it to punish something like Sagat’s jumping strong. Shut down that part of his game for a while.
The only thing that makes juggling into ultra difficult is the fact that you’re relying on visual cues to do it, so if there’s input lag (from the network/monitor/whatever) then you have to adjust and compensate. Playing offline on your own setup it really isn’t difficult to do it consistently.
I don’t really see it as being a huge threat to Sagat jump ins…it really doesn’t do much damage.
I mean, it barely does much to Cammy in that vid, and she has low health.
I also hope the anti-air version doesn’t have typical slow Ultra start-up, or it’s anti-air usage will be limited.
Wouldn’t say that, regular version killed on the 4th hit of 5 and AA killed on the 5th. We weren’t really expecting much damage from it and characters do have more health (or resistance) when near KO, kinda hard to tell as but it might be around the same damage as Metsu Hadouken and there’s still time for them to buff it up a little.
Notice how she’s ready to go a bit before Cammy’s grounded, should/hopefully be able to setup some nice cross-ups afterwards, which is more than Haru Ranman.
I wonder if point blank AA Ultra can be jumped over and if it’ll hit crouching opponents or not.
Edit: Actually she does have full Ultra meter, looking more like Seth’s Ultra damage now Well hopefully they’ll buff it up, I don’t care that Metsu is meant to be more powerful than Shinkuu canonically, her Shinkuu won’t have as many setups as Ryu’s Metsu >.>
I doubt it’ll be as strong as Metsu Hadoken in any case. I just hope it’s not much weaker.
I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade but I could see it being kind of weak since it is 2 ultra’s in one.
Shame, since Metsu is like the 2nd weakest Ultra (yes, yes, damage wise, not in practice).
Damage is indeed looking terrible. Would be hard to pick one if Haru Ranman gets a nice boost, but I soooo wanna do light/medium Shouoken into this.
AA Ultra is I think, Shinkuu Tengyou Hadouken.
I’m almost certain I’m gonna stick to the Haru Ranman.
Her new ultra doesn’t look extremely useful.
Balancing with canon in mind rather than gameplay is made of fail
Haru Ichiban does 380 damage, Shinkuu Hadouken should do no less than that at max (saying that I think it was the weakest Super in Alpha but this isn’t Alpha and it’s not a Super dammit!).
Ryu’s Metsu Hadouken is practically 10 Ultras in 1, just because Shinkuu has a diagonal upwards variant doesn’t mean it’ll have more uses than Metsu and should be balanced accordingly.
If it keeps this weak damage, I don’t see much good in comboing it off a Shoukens…then it’ll be doing 80% damage since you comboed into it…ugly.
Honestly, unless they changed the properties on her other moves to accomodate this ultra, I’m not seeing the allure here. Though, like I said, it is a better wakeup reversal than ranman, since it should be safe on block. So, it could be used as a defensive threat against people who like to get in her face on wakeup…
But, who knows if that footage is current or not. Maybe there’s more than meets the eye.
Well Metsu Hadouken is mostly 80% since it’s usually after a SRK, 80% is better than a hugely watered down 40%
I’m hoping with a buffed Hadouken we can use it in fireball traps, also EX Hadouken FADC and in the corner. LP Shou AA > Shinkuu Hadouken would be nice too.
