Lacey… can’t, and does not block. Couldn’t figure out what to do after tatsu -> backdash so he just mashed. Even after he got DP’ed 5+ times he would STILL mash crouch tech. My advice? Stop playing against bad players.
People let you get away with to much shit, it’s going to breed bad habits. Not really sure why he was so hype on winning though, he was getting bopped 90% of the time. You played really clean though. But you could be more lame and annoying.
PKSkyler you should totally move to New York. They’re way better than San Diego.
Well this was pretty much my first irl tourney, so most of them dont know the matchup. I dont think Lacey or anyone I played at the tourney is bad at all. Lacey went undefeated that day actually…
And this was a tourney excluding some of SD’s very top players.
It is pretty true… lol Hmm, how would I do that?
lol stein…I wouldnt move to NY if I could get paid to have personal 8 hour sessions with Daigo and Jwong every day

Watched the Lacey fight.
You were whiffing EX Danku just outside of max range a number of times. Max Range EX Danku is an excellent footsie tool and way to bully yourself into the face of a lot of characters. The stupid massive frame advantage at max range, the solid hitbox and the quick startup are all pretty great, but you neeeeeed to make sure you don’t whiff it. I’m not sure if you were trying to tag something out of startup, but you want to get into sure-fire range before letting one rip due to it’s punishability.
Looks like I’m finally getting into this thread, thanks to me having checked out a video camera from my university. (Not for this, but for an actual school-related project)

Always good to see more videos.
As for critique, here’s some easy points that should help your game immensely.
Numero Uno: Less Buttery Koryu
Don't use EX Koryuken unless it's in prediction of a move that won't be beat out by HP Koryuken (If your in this situation often, you're playing too risky. You don't want to be doing Random DPs out of habit). I'm not sure if it's just nerves, but there's never a reason to use EX Koryuken unless you're stuffing Super/Ultras, saving yourself from chip in a last ditch effort, chipping the opponent out, or punishing the very select few attacks in the game that require that extra bit on invincibility to cleanly anti-air or stuff the opponent. HP Koryuken also does more damage.
HP Koryuken FADC is safer and better. Learn to reduce the number of times you use a reversal or mixup Koryuken to where you always have two bars to cancel. This stops you from throwing out unsafe DPs, which normally won't work in your favour.
Numero Two: Always cancel into something.
I saw a lot of missed opportunities for damage and pressure. Get s.MP xx LK.Danku and s.MP xx HK.Danku down to a bad habit. They're completely safe, and it gets you into mixup range. I saw a lot of normals connect that didn't lead into anything else. If you're up against a masher, cr.MK or cr.MP canceled into Dankus or a Gadouken at max range is a bad idea, but that's the only situation I can think of where I wouldn't want to tack on an extra something when a normal connects.
Also, s.MP xx HK.Danku is spammable and safe. When you think you have an opening to land it, try for it, and profit off the damage or the resulting mixup.
Numero Trois: Save yo' meters.
This will happen on it's own if you stop using EX Koryuken unnecessarily. Meter is much better saved for HP.Koryuken FADC in mixups and EX Dankus in footsies.
Numero Fours: Jump-Back Taunt + Throw Gadoukens.
To me, this is how I play "Absolute Defense" for Dan. Dan with meter is terrifying once he gets in. Any time you can sit back and throw Gadoukens is a great time to sit back and throw Gadoukens. Your opponents will think you're having a laugh, and you get to stock two bars for free. This may not be a good idea if your opponent has a better meter-building tool, or has long range options that make it dangerous. Doing this can also put you in a position to force bad players to jump in unsafely, which leads to free anti-airs for you once you're on point with Koryuken.

Phew. Anyways, I enjoyed watching. If you apply what I said above, your game and win ratio should shoot through the roof.
XHM and myself found out that the Replay system is seriously flawed. I was lagging out and never managed to watch a match all the way through, as a result none of the games were actually saved so unfortunately I have nothing of his to put yet

thanks for the comments man, greatly appreciated.
My main use of ex dankuu is leading to mix ups, which is my whole game, its quicker and ussually safe. I was trying to tag his normals ussually, but yeah i noticed too that some ranges were just bad, thats something i didnt see before. Thanks again, and if you have anything else please let me know.

What do you mean by “habeeb”?
That missed Taunt finish almost blew it, don’t get cocky
Don’t habeeb in yourself! Habeeb in me who habeebs in you!
woah wtf- i didnt think that was really Mike Ross! Thanks for sharing this with me!
Me and my friends were laughing at habeeb all day
lol that shoulda worked!! Idk why it didnt!
Probably only works with lvl 3. I’ve never seen you do it any other way.
I wanted to show you guys a video from SRKLive. It’s just a week old before my SSFIV disc messed up
It was nighttime and it was getting late, and I was trolling with Dan on the stream because i’m known for it. I told my friends that i had to go on the chat, and they were like “NO DUDE! GET YOUR REVENGE ON THIS RYU!” And I said, “Fine, BUT FOR THE SAIKYO PLAYERS!” It was a relief match since he was trolling most of the time on the top with Ryu. And everytime i would come up, he would beat me against my Dan. So I got encouraged by alot of ppl in the chat saying “DAN THE FUCKING MAN! USE HIM!” or “Go dan!” At the end of the game I just simply put in the chat…" Drops down controller with honor " Then somebody said "Beautiful…"
This was recorded through SRKLive, I don’t have a Capture Card

i did it with a lvl 2 to that guile in that video i showed you where he pops me up with the ultra. I didnt do a lvl 3 to mike ross cuz he woulda died.
It’s a tight link, but doable. You have to be on point with your timing for the taunt as you come out of the dash, and perform the Koryuken just as you get into the cancelable frames of the taunt. I’m guessing it’s something like 5 frame window of error to do it after the Level 2.
