Great tips! Thanks, man! I’ll try to curb my ex.KRK habit and work on my combos.
Ill practice more! I always thought it was just mashing
As with all things Dan, it all depends on the taunt
doesnt 9 have the quickest cancel? Ive always felt it was a close call when doing it with 1 or 5

We have no frame data for taunts. I may look into getting that documented sometime soon.
Yes it’s the quickest.
Most likely, but as Krack pointed out you were most likely too slow to start the taunt, which is what threw you off your timing
Shut up guys! I’m going to make my own frame datas! Geeeeze! (EDIT: Finished!)
And yes, generally the problem is you don’t hit Taunt soon enough as you come out of dash. You can’t mash it.
Thanks to my findings, apparently Taunt #01 has the 2nd largest amount of startup frames before the cancel window. Taunt #03 being the largest with an entire second devoted to trolling. Huh.

Epic match
When you open up WMM, go to the “Tools” bar. And then go click “Options…” Then go to “Advanced” and turn the Aspect Ratio to 16:9

Pretty awesome, no?
While I’m certainly not the best Dan around here, I feel like I can offer some good pointers here.
You have the baiting part of Dan’s game down, but you’re not doing anything with the bait. You trained that Ken to jump in on you, but you only punished it once. There were so many times where he jumped in with an early kick and you dash-canceled the focus for no apparent reason.
Ken has good recovery and his SRK comes out quickly, so trying to punish with a level 3 FA every time he jumps is probably a bad idea, but doing it from time to time is great to keep him out of his comfort zone. Also, you have KRK and can punish Ken’s jumps on reaction with it.
cr.MK does not link to ordinary dankyaku, so don’t throw it. You will get punished for trying. For example, the end of the 3 third round.
Closing the distance with EX dankyaku is probably a waste of meter.
Towards the end, you were getting a little predictable with the back dash > dankyaku. He didn’t really catch on, but someone smarter probably would have caught onto the pattern and punished it.
If Ken wiffs his Ultra 1, he needs to eat a level 3 FA when he lands, a j.HP, a KRK, or something. Not taking advantage of a huge opportunity to punish and trying cr.MK > dankyaku lost the match for you.
I just want to say~~
cmk doesnt combo but its still great for footsies and at the end of pressure strings, especially if you dont have ex. it like, wont ever get punished unless you use it all the damn time.
Ex dankuu is great for everything, and definantly not a waste of meter! lol, I kid, but really I lovvveeee ex dankuu.
great advice tho.
