I think Rufus wins the award for the “most retarded looking” Funny watching the big/fat characters since it seems like they almost break their arms when doing the taunts. Can imagine Dan standing behind Sakura shouting, “You’re doing it all wrong! Shake your fist harder!”
I decided to finally record a couple of my matches. Definitively they’re not the best…in fact they’re below average. I’ve had some good matches, but haven’t recorded them yet. Please take a look and let me know your thoughts. The rivals were Ibuki, Cammy and T. Hawk.
best part of those vids was vs honda when he just ran up and threw a fireball in his face. hahaha ive got some word of mouth going around about my Dan at AI so i may start recording matches
Recorded a replay today (video quality is ass sorry, recording by hand from the tv I aint no photographer)

Critique away. This guy was pretty bad though. I played him 4 times and it got worse for him every match. Whiffed a few things, my execution is still crap although im getting back to form.
Seems like he didn’t know how to block Along with the classic LP SRK spam, tell-tale signs of nubdom.
Can’t really give much in the way of critique from that video, I’d say start using Haoh Gadouken and practice KRK FADCing (maybe you were using Shissou because you thought landing a Focus was practically guaranteed on that guy?). You seemed to bait a SRK but did nothing about it, even though was just an LP SRK using EX Dankuu would have been a sure thing and maybe regular HK Dankuu too. You jumped over a fireball and just threw him on landing, should have spotted he’d be vulnerable and landed a heavy j.HK > s.MP/s.HP/c.HP xx HK Dankuu combo.
For the bolded, Hence my current execution fail, my kick didnt come out, thats why there was a delay even in me throwing him, it surprised me. Im using Shissou just because thats what I am used to from vanilla, When I start playing better again I’ll give the gadou ultra a go. i also had alot of opportunities to cross him up into mp/hp>Hk danku, i only bit at one and accidentally cr.mp >hk dankued him, which unfortunately doesnt combo, that happens to me alot lately, i need to hit training and just do the cross up over and over so i dont mess up like that on occation, as messing that cross up, up is a death sentence against srk mashers.
Maybe im one of the few that actually really likes the shissou though, yeah outside of focus/ jumpin Fierce theres no way to combo it (practically, ex gadou > ultra is too much of a gamble for my blood), but I seem to find more than enough opportunities to use it, works as AA (probably not as effectively as the gadou though, and is more subject to strict timing), Its great vs guile (you can execute it in between the two hits of his cr. HK), great on Ryu/ken as you can ultra through fb’s and snag them from about 3-4 spaces away.
I’ll have to play around with the Gadou though, mainly I wasnt very impressed with the damage output, but I suppose thats the sacrifice for a move thats far easier to land. I have no problem fadc’ing to ultra, Ive played around with ryu more than enough in casual matches with friends.
Might want to incorporate more Knees into your game as well, only 10 less damage than MK Dankuu and get much better options from a blocked one. The way I see it is LK Dankuu give you mix-ups in your favour where MK/HK Dankuu give mix-ups in your opponent’s favour, KRK (FADC) and back dash are strong options but if you don’t nail them to first frame you come out of the animation you can easily get thrown (or hit by another 3-frame move) instead. LK Dankuu will most likely be in your advantage on block and at worst you’re on even footing.
You can land just about anything in between the first and second hit of Guile’s c.HK Guaranteed you can do it with Haoh as well.
Once you start landing loads of KRK FADC > Haoh and AA LP KRK > Haoh you’ll never want to go back to Shissou, especially tagging them on crappy Ryus since they probably can’t even FADC Ultra themselves, very satisfying Damage output is a bit poor for punishes but it’s good damage for juggles, almost as much as Ryu’s and better than quite a few others.
isnt the Haoh pretty safe on block too? (At least from what I recall with Dans trials, since he flies back after executing it) not condoning it, but if you wanted to making throwing out random U2’s pretty safe if in desperation mode.
Yes (depends how fast characters can charge across the screen) but it’s super easy to jump over It’s really fat so you could probably time a meaty Haoh on opponent’s wake-up but obviously stuff with enough invincibility to fly past it would still work.
Super Taunt cancelling a Gadouken or Kouryuken and immediately following up with Haoh is an air tight block string, if you want a fancy way of getting a chip win
