Saikyo-ryuu for Dummies: Dan Video Thread!

Very good

You are aware that EX KRK juggles after Knee in corner, right? Not something to use all the time but you could have finished the round against Gen quicker with it.

Shissou against Ken? Were you expecting to breeze through a predictable fireball pattern with it? Getting thrown after HK Dankuu sucks :frowning: What went wrong there? Seemed like you were trying to OST but that won’t work some of the time, would need to delay it slightly.
That Ken liked to mash, maybe he had turbo on?

Here’s another Hibiki-San video

SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 :??? ??5 ??? - ???zoome

I also stumbled upon another japanese player on zoome. Not all of his vids are SF4 but most of the ones that are, are Dan

Hibiki-san got Saikyo Crusher’d :stuck_out_tongue: He’s still favouring Shissou, odd but he does have an uncanny knack of sneaking it in.

I don’t know if it’s already been posted.
But I stumbled over this clip recently.

Dan not only negates Ryu’s Ultra. No! He repels him with his manly chest. :woot:

Heh trade before a hit is actually scored, I’ve seen that with Shissou vs Shissou but not vs any other Ultra

Well here’s my match vs Liquid SRK. Why I’m doing LP KRK and whiffing instead of HP KRK and FADCing is beyond me. Make the rest of the video what you will. I could’ve done better, and accidental super is the bane of my existence. I wasn’t even consciously saving for super taunt like i have the past, but it keeps happening.

Hindsight is a funny thing, it’s easy enough to look back and say, “I should have done this.” but in the moment you tend to forget about things.

You landed a couple of KRK FADC > Haoh, which is good though you missed an opportunity in the corner for EX KRK FADC > Haoh after a Knee. You seemed to be losing the mix-ups after HK Dankuu too :frowning: most of the time he was either throwing or jabbing so neutral jump would have allowed you to keep pressure (unless he was fast enough with AA) or back dash to get out of there. The other thing would be to hit him with a couple of KRKs to hopefully make him more defensive after those, obviously comes with some risks.

Anyways no shame in losing to Liquid, he plays a good Dudley and you got some choice taunts in too

I approve of the slime shirt!

StripfighterIV being awsome as usual ha =]

Recent matches from GodsGarden 2.5

He even has a pony tail like Dan, too awesome

Interesting use of j.LK in the corner, fake cross-up I use sometimes but I’m surprised he’s not being thrown out of the s.MP follow up. Still sticking to Shissou, guess he just likes how it looks :stuck_out_tongue:

Ha! 4:37 he fights Hibiki-san!

Did Stripfighter do a crossup hopkick? MIND = BLOWN.

Anyways, here’s my first video. Hopefully more will come. I’m still a newb in the Saikyo Arts!

LK Dankuu has been known to cross up on a few character; Bison, Abel and Dudley come to mind, it’s not the easiest thing to do though :frowning:

 @ KO with 1 second to go, thought that’d time out for sure :stuck_out_tongue: There’s quite a few areas you could improve your game but I won’t be mean and point them all out for you :stuck_out_tongue:

LK I can understand. He crossed up with a MK Dankuu though if I’m not mistaken. Watch the Juri fight again (3:20 in that video).
This video I recorded some time ago, I’ll post a more recent one soon against better players. I’m definitely having a lot of fun playing with Dan though.

Why would you be mean? If someone posts their video here, they should be open to constructive criticism. But yeah, don’t waste your time with this one. It’s just for the lulz.

I thought s.MP to lk tatsu was usually safe?

Oh that bit (was HK Dankuu), hmm well it’s hard to tell if it crossed up or not but HK Dankuu does has issues with comboing on crouching characters sometimes, could just be one of those times.

s.MP xx LK Dankuu is (mostly) safe once the s.MP makes contact, I was referring to the gap between the j.LK and the s.MP though. I’ve been thrown out of the s.MP after a j.MK before and j.LK has even less block stun than that.

ohhh i see lol =|

I wound up playing an A ranked Balrog over the weekend, and it seems he saw fit to put the video on Youtube. It was a close game, and it can’t hurt to show given the discussion in the other thread about Balrog.

It shows off both how effective c.MK is against him in general, and also the safe jumps I was talking about, though all the safe jumps in this video were by him on me. Still, I’m pleased at how good I am at recognizing them now, I was only doing the Koryuken on him when I knew the jump wouldn’t be fully safe, when he was getting the timing right I’d just block instead.

You missed an Ultra opportunity in the last round :frowning: If you could KRK FADC there was at least another 2 opportunities to land it as well. Still close game and you showed him what Dan is made of, I’m sure he thinks a bit more highly of Dan now

One from me, I usually stay away from uploading boring Ryu matches but the end is hilarious. This one is all about my bad match ups it seems but I pulled through somehow (my opponents were mostly not that good :P):

LOL @ match 1 that guy could have ultra’d you for free round 2 and he walks right into the super. Dans super needs vaccuum affect, period. ken/ryu can combo into their with anything, if dan DP combos into it hes gonna suffer, and with the relaxed inputs its to easy to accidentally dp when trying to combo into super with anything involving a punch.

match 2 (blanka) is the reason I stopped using U2 after giving it a shot for awhile, yeah its easy to connect but the damage is too weak, in round 3, if you had U1 the match would have been over when you ultra’d. I just kept losing too many close matches I would have won if U1 was in my arsenal. I like your blanka game, but that match shows why blanka is a shitty matchup, the guy kept it close simply by landing some lucky balls.

Too right Super needs a vacuum effect, there’s only two reliable ways to combo into it off the ground (excluding FA) c.MP xx Gadouken xx Hisshou and s.HK xx Hisshou and even those two ways don’t work on every character. It’s really frustrating to land a Focus and follow with a s.HK xx Hisshou Buraiken only to find out that they’re pushed out of range >.<

Haoh is a bit weak for a punish Ultra but the amount of times I land KRK FADC > Haoh certainly makes up for it. Also pure damage wise it’s only 1 point of damage behind Metsu Hadouken so for what it does I think the damage is fair, I can forgive them for making 1 hit miss on juggle but I really can’t for having it do less hits over longer distance.

Lucky balls and 3 wake-up Ultras, God damn! Considering his BP I was expecting better of him and think I’m kinda lucky I pulled off that win, I really REALLY hate Blanka :frowning:
