And another
Hello, KRK, this will be my 1st post here. Just wanted to share my 2 g1 final vids:

Thanks for watching.
Nice job on the wins
Dunno what was up with Boring Chun-Li, I’ve heard of Honda and Blanka that don’t move, some Guile too but Chun? shrug Lots of random Cannon Spikes from that Cammy, should have punished harder
D-bus, hey I was that gief. Fun, crowd-pleasing match. And yea I sucked when I faced you. I really don’t know the Dan matchup at all. The only other time I ever faced Dan (casuals or tourney) was at the very first PnT Bisonopolis tournament on Long Island like 6 or 7 months ago. Just wondering, did that happen to be you as well?
Hahahaha. The Chun match was so random.
Thanks and yea, I’ve failed most of my punishes in the last vid. Just was a bit nervous
I wonder if this is a bad thing or not.
Anyway, I’ve got one more g1 final video:

Can you give me any tips how to fight this old man? I have no idea tbh.
P.S. Should’ve used ultra at the end of last round. :S
Don’t really know the Gen match-up, just need to watch out for that annoying cross-up and his Focus Attack has ridiculous range. Maybe more Knee pressure on his wake-up, not sure how well his waterfall kicks deals with it but guessing Knee wins under the right circumstances.
Instead of doing a flurry of light attacks off jump-ins I’d suggest comboing into a Gadouken or Dan Knee (or EX Dankuu for punish where not close enough for cl.s.MP). Cross-up j.MK > s.MP xx LK Dankuu should be a staple in your arsenal.
Block his cross ups and punish his jumpins with KRK instead of hk.Danku. Learn the match up so you know the spacing and timing of his two jumps (this is very important) and of course his moves both normal and special. Also try using a higher priority move when you are both in the air, lk might do it, he kept stuffing your hk…
Thank you, guys. I fought him once again bit earlier, and looks like this Gen escapes knee pressure with ex-wall dive(or w/e its called). Haven’t seen waterfall kicks from him, but it sure beats hk danku (tried with other Gens). Alright, so next time I’ll try to stay more grounded and punish his jump-ins. And about this cross-up combo, I’ve never tried this one, but looks better than my poking after cross-up
P.S. Never heard about 2 different Gen jumps, what’s the difference between them?
Not an aweful lot, they’re both low and nasty but I believe the j.MK cross-up is even nastier in Crane.
The off the wall kicks, if you spot them early you can swat them out of the sky with Kouryuken. It can trade, think slightly in your favour, but you can use EX Kouryuken to avoid the trade.
Thanks again. I’ve met him once again now. Still lost, but now i did better. First of all, knee pressure really did the job, got it landed 3 or 4 times. But then he decided to do waterfall kicks so it traded with lk danku(still in my favor i think). Second, j.lk is a good thing, tried it only once tho. And ex koryuken beats wall kick perfectly, thanks for this tip. The only problem now is his poke(looks like MK) into hands. Doing lots of damage and i have no idea how to punish it when blocked.
Oh and the good thing, that he agreed to have some player matches with me next time
Cool deal
What’s different between the jumps? Not much, just 50% more distance in Crane ;-D That’s why he lands so many damn cross ups, you think he’s going to land in front of you but that isn’t the case. Mantis is 20 squares and Crane is 35.5 in the training room. Similar time in the air for both, he covers “ground” quicker in Crane so again he throws you off, timing now instead of spacing.
ggs Jason, the only character i have a harder time fighting besides Zangief is Blanka. Granted im the only person that i know who plays Dan in casuals on long island, yeah that was probably me.
In response to decc, Ive been playing a pretty good gen online lately, just a few things to be aware of:
Bicycle kicks usually beats knee on wakeup, EX Koryuken LOSES to the startup of EX walldive, so be weary of that if you have him in the corner. Its very hard to out-poke Gen, but i seem to have an easier time if i stay on top of him than if i play more defensive. If you block the first set of MK Hands, keep blocking. If you try to jump or counterattack you’ll get tagged if he tries to continue with it (pretty sure about this, but i could be wrong) Besides that just look out for Gen’s Ultra setups, he has a lot.
It’s still low and they still go for cross-ups no matter what stance But yeah, I did mention Crane was nastier, that’s also the c.LK > Super > Ultra starter I believe
SSF4 video with Dan in it. Was waiting for Kouryuken FADC > Haoh Gadouken and he does the Saikyo Crusher at the end but botches it D: looks like it’s tighter with Haoh Gadouken since he doesn’t have that great dash from Shissou Buraiken.
I’m sure it’s cake at close range. Like you said, though, cr.MK xx Gadouken xx Legendary Taunt xx Ultra II may not connect from max.
Oh snap! Legendary Taunt finish!
Wow EX Gadouken FADC > Ultra, first time I’ve actually seen that outside of training.
@ Dan bouncing off of each other after the double Ultra, that should have been his match if he had just blocked the Ultra first. Funny yet very frustrating I bet.
Yeah that was pretty awesome. The double ultra near the end was fucking hilarious too
Dan vs El Fuerte ^^
