The one that is somewhat reliable is against Chun. If she’s crouching and you hit her with s.fp xx ex gadou, the Ultra works from anywhere. There’s a slight chance you might catch one screw up her ex sbk (like online lol) and hit her crouching with a jump-in attack.
Personally, I’ve never done it in a match. Might just start trying to, though
Ryu backed into the corner standing (the big toe on his outer foot will be even with one of the thicker black lines on the training room floor), Dan’s foot lined up with the 3rd THIN line after the next thick line out from Ryu (note that when you first move Dan’s foot will be in one position then he will adjust it, I’m going by the post adjustment position) will work. It will work out until the 6th thin line (which is the first after the mid thickness line).
SOOOOOOO to summarize: not going to happen too often in online play :annoy:
as to can i do any standig into danku… answer is NO. I can only do crouching something into danku.
my most famous one (if you watch my videos) is the Medium kick into medium danku… which ALWAYS gets punished in the middle because it dosent link. (but it feelt like it should!!)
i dont know if i am not fast enough or what.
as for the ex fireball into ultra… best way to work that in is after a knockdown dash back like your going to run away and then turn and whip a EXfireball at them "just as they are getting up"
if it connects you can ultra from this distance.
Why does the gadoken do LESS damage than the Hadoken? i know why as far as story… but for game balance does it make sense that the fireball that can go fullscreen deals more damage than the fireball that cant even go half screen? rant over… im in a bad mood since i got red ring of death today
It won’t happen too often in any kind of play that isn’t in the training room
c.MK/c.MP should link into all Dankuu I know Should cancel c.MK into Gadouken or EX Dankuu instead, you can get away with Dan Knee cancel even if it doesn’t combo/hit.
Doesn’t some of Dan’s Normal Trials require a standing normal into Gadouken or Dankuu? It really isn’t that hard to do just need to practice the motion.
I feel your pain, my old 360 died twice on me, they sent me a new one (ones that apparently don’t die) as a replacement the second time.
Yeah. j.MK almost always, j.LK when I need priority, usually against an airborne opponent.
I need to spend time in the practice room, only been in there maybe 20 minutes total with Dan, and figure out how to use his other jumping attacks. I’m sure it will improve my game.
Yeah there’s no real reason to use j.MK over j.HK when not crossing up, timing wise it’s pretty much the same just gives you a bit more stun. I botch up j.MKs more than j.HKs, and all those are cross-ups
you also need to factor in that long combos add to your shenanigans. when someone thinks your a chump playing dan they wont spam on reversals and they will actually “THINK” about what they are doing. once you make someone think… thats where we should come on.
i feel our gameplan as dan players is to control your opponents reactions… mostly by taunting and other silly stuff. but pulling out a complicated combo, even if it dosent do as much damage as a standard cHP>HK danku is worth the FEAR factor.
yes now that my xbox died I am going insane reading the forums all day long.
They won’t try to mash out a reversal because Dan has no link combos they can mash during Only real time they can mash is when we’re poking with jabs and shorts, then it’s best to stop at two if they’re blocked (if suspect a masher) otherwise you can quite easily get 4-5 hit combo with them depending on character and whether they’re crouching or not.
I don’t find it that slow, certainly not as slow as v.j.HP I’m quite comfortable using it normally but j.MK does make for a better AA incase they jump at you.
Yeah I use the j.HK a good amount. I use the j.MK more mostly because it can crossup, but most of them just lose air to air anyways in my experience. If I’m just jumping in and not going to get a crossup, I go for the j.HK maybe 50% of the time because it does more damage.
