Does anyone know some good block strings ending with tiger knee

yup depending on the char usually cr.lk , cr.lk , cr.mp xx lk tk will be safe. on certain characters I think you can get this to be + on block. I’ve seen bonchan do max distance cr.mk and i think its mk tk? Looks very safe. For block strings like this never use hk tk. If I remember the frame data correctly if you hit on the last active frame of lk tk you are plus 2 on block so that is the safest to use.

Edit: This is not a true blockstring so if you are playing someone who yolo mashes uppercuts while they are blocking you can get hit inbetween cr.lk’s or cr.mp. Don’t use these strings on those types of players. I generally use these if I’ve made someone afraid to press buttons and mix it up with throws and frame traps after the safe knee… etc.

Would Yun/Yang be good compliments to Sagat?

Is Sagat able to pull off any new link combo’s from angry scar? For instance low forward > AS > low forward?

Also is doing a a kara tiger shot after f + lk: (f+LK -> Neutral -> HCF+P)

necessary to be successful with sagat? or is only learning the other method sufficient?

Can someone explain to me why the fuck Sagat has that fake kick? Does this serve any useful purpose besides fucking up an opportunity to attack the opponent?

as far as i know the fake kick is exactly that…fakes people…its actually a really usefull baiting tool to hav.for example after a hard knock down dash up like ur gonna throw but instead throw out a fake then block,see how they react they’ll either mash dp, back dash or throw.timings of thee essence.

So if you condition your opponent to start teching a cross up j.lk tick throw, will a cr. HP blow up their tech?

I believe the start up is too slow and you’ll get thrown.

Cross up j.lk is really only useful to hit super deep or to bait reversal. Their tech will beat your fierce.

Your scenario is usually done with cr.lk and its one of the main ways of landing counter hits although cr.mp offers better trapping possibility. Another one I like using especially against shotos is cr.lk , stand HK xx lk tiger knee. Blows up Tech mashers like a knive through butter and traps them with knee if they block.

Works on quite a few, try it out. Rufus, Fei etc, usually anyone that’s not got a fucked up hurt box. You can sometimes switch the light knee with medium knee. I’d tell you for certain but I keep this stuff written down (and I’m not at home) because my memory is fucking shocking at match up specific combo’s. This game has too many bloody characters in it.

I have a quick question. Is there any really nice Sagat tutorial on Youtube?The one like Cross Counter with Air on Ryu. There is like K-K-KOMBO BREAKER with Crazy Clown 101, but I don’t find it super useful :frowning:

I noticed that you can U2 some characters off an EX Knee in the corner but not others. Is there a list of characters this works on anywhere?

You can U1 on more characters, it’s an easier link.

Yeah but there are lots of matches where U2 has more utility. It’s a shame it’s not easier to link in corner. But then again whenever does Sagat have corner pressure!

You can U2 from the EX upper as well, again it’s a bit tighter.

Honestly I think U2 is the “safer” Ultra these day’s, so much weird shit happens now with U1 it’s a gamble.
