Sagat Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

I got a basic question here, what version of the tiger knee is safe on block? Depending on the distance but what version of the tiger knee do you generally use to be safe on block?

In this what version is he using? Also I know Kara Tiger Knee is necessary but dunno what version to use.

You gotta space them right in ssf4. I usually only use medium in like a lk lk mk mktk block string or if i space it where only the second hit connects. In super tk is pretty crap on block. In ae though it got alot better from what ive seen and heard.

IMO there are soo many different strings… u can freestyle the string once you know that m tk distance by instinct. You dont want to do the same string to tk or even throw that tk out everytime, you will get read like a book and punished. But, using strings and tks are good ways to bait shit out once you do a string and then dont follow with a tk. Hope that makes sense.

MK is the best one in general for blockstrings and safeness. HK is terrible, it’s unsafe almost always and whiffs on crouching characters often. LK can be slightly better up close.

what are your guys thoughts on the new st roundhouse… hits twice as an aa…

AE hitbox notes: Gief, Sagat, Dan, Dudley, Hakan & Adon : News : EventHubs.com

Depends on priority/hitbox. From reading the translated blog, though, it seems like a huge weakness in his game was fixed (no good normal AA)

i just wanted to know whats the best way to do a tiger uppercut from sagats bnb…i have the timing perfect but i have trouble executeing a TU from down back …any tips?

As your doing the combo hold df then do the, dragon punch motion. You can hold down back then slam it into df but it takes practice. Hope that helps I’m sure someone will explain it better

Pretty much this, once you hit confirm with your normals you should commit to the combo by moving the stick to DF before you hit lp, then as soon as you hit lp execute B,DF, HP. Practice with a HK.TK as well if you have them in the corner or are trying to move them into the corner.

How to do safely on block TK after blockstring?

Hey guys
im currently workin on the Kara shot, the version without havin a TS on the screen.
Its very tricky if you press your punch/kick to early youll get an upper/knee so you have to delay it a bit to get out the shot.
Also you have to move your stick back to neutral before you :qcf: …P/K.
With all this in mind, its still quite hard to get the shot out between a knee/upper and the low kick.So obviously the window is very small.Does anybody know how many frames exactly???

And another question
is there any option select for throwing out a knee while zoning.
I.e. if I pressure with fireballs and they want to jump forward= OS tiger knee?
thx alot

theres one where you can o.s roundhouse the foward heavy kick i do it from time to time but i just do it by feel lol sorry

that would be if they jump in during OS kara shot…roundhouse comes out?

Some players make f+LK, 360 + P/K. Making the kara shot become more easily but not good enough

ok i havent thought about that.i been practicing for the last three hours and the success rate of pulling it of has risen considerably!!
Im sure with a few days practice i can pull it of 100% of the time, which leads me to another question: why do you hardly ever see that move pulled of? All u ever see is the OS version. Right now i can only recall seeing Sanford use it 1nce in a match. I think the l.s. version can be very useful at times partly because it comes unexpected ( no previous shot on the screen)

If you DID have an OS TK off a whiffed TS it would come out if they neutral jumped over the fireball…

Just react and AA.

Daigo has a setup where he does a meaty fireball and does the input for a lp hado after it’s blocked. If the fireball is still on screen he can’t fireball again so he gets s.lp. Then he inputs a SRK motion + punch. If they did a reversal to avoid the fireball he whiffs a jab and then uppercuts. If they blocked he gets a fireball and the DP input doesn’t come out because he’s in recovery.

You can easily OS kara Tk with lk ts, lk ts motion, TK. If the lk ts gets avoided you get kara TK. If they block you get another non-kara ts. But like I said before OS to anti-air people jumping over TS is not good. You should be able to react by the time the TS recovers and anti-air with kara uppercut, f.hk, hk TK, high EX TS, etc.

got a question how do you guys deal with back dashers, and I mean people who do it on wake up to avoid pressure ? I’m kinda getting this from rose players…

Sweep os wont work on her. You can tk or st fwrd lk to catch her but if you guess wrong you can get punished

If it’s a constant thing, punish it! If you have 1 bar, EX TU her on wake-up. If you have 2, kara TU FADC on wake-up. Time jump in OS mk TK. do a meaty CR short and input an EX TS afterward, on hit or whiff. All these options push into the corner too, which make them less able to backdash.

best thing imo is to o.s crouch heavy punch
