overrated
I think he is a bit overpowered… but my biggest problem with Sagat in SFIV is similar to the problem I have with Ken & Ryu - you get a bunch of people playing them just because they’re easy to spam and have a bit of strength. I sigh a little each time I get matched up with Sagat, because 9 times out of 10 the other person is just going to spam the hell out of me.
Sagat is one of those easy-2-play chars. Good Fireball Spam, Easy Combos + Ultra-Linking,
His over-average HP makes him even better.
I don’t consider him that overpowered but well… he’s one of those Characters where you don’t need much effort to be good.
That’s what pisses me off the most about him…
Usually when I lose to Sagats I feel like… "What if I picked Sagat"
Doesn’t look difficult how Sagats play and losing a big amount of HP from only 1 Single Combo just doesn’t feel fair… (As a Chun Player)
Meh… give him a small nerf and everything is fine.
Well why don’t you pick Sagat then? It can be Sagat Fighter IV.
Please don’t judge the character based on what you see on Live or PSN. Those people are so bad that I scrape them with Honda, while a guy who knows Honda and picks up Sagat for a day gives me a hell of a time.
Man,whats with all the whining?Go play xvsf,mvc2 or KOF98 if u guys wanna see broken. The game just came out.Lets talk about this again in 3 years when people are good at playing it.Damn kids…
Nobody will listen, even though all tournament results have shown that Sagat isn’t dominating the scenes. However I guarantee most of them is basing their notions off of their own small experiences or else the online match ups.
Sagat is strong in SF:IV, however he is not overpowered or broken, this has been noted numerously already, I’ve already given out the facts why on another thread that was exactly like this one. For all the people still crying about it, just look at this blog which shows tournament results from around the world of people winning in SF:IV, and it clearly does not show a dominance of Sagat…http://curryallergy.blogspot.com/
Even the Gamestop SF:IV International Tournament did not have Sagat in the Final 4, in fact, there was TWO Ryu’s up there, Rufus (Justin Wong, you the man!), and Sim. So I ask all the Sagat ='s OP worshipers, how in the hell is Sagat overpowered if he isn’t dominating in the tournament scenes?
“If” your overpowered, your dominance is clearly shown in the tournament scene, look to Tekken 4 back in it’s prime days, Jin was clearly overpowered, and the tournament results showed it with him dominating nearly 98% of the results. Look to 3S, Chun was the overall best character in that game, and she clearly showed her dominance but having the most Chun players placing in the top-8 all the time. How about CvS2 Blanka, he completely showed ruled in that game with the tournament results.
However, Sagat is a character whom by some of you are saying is too good yet he still has to even prove that he can dominate on a consistent level. If Sagat hasn’t even done it up to this point, how in the world can he be marked as overpowered? Don’t give me notions of “Well online I lose to Sagat, or well, in moderate lvl of SF:IV gameplay Sagat is Op” garbage either, because guess what, in that lvl of play, you can have greater success with lower-tier characters then you normally would in a much higher lvl of competition because you are not playing the game to it’s potential yet.
Think hard about that before you run through your jock straps again and cry for Sagat being overpowered, because this is absolutely ridiculous now, everything up to this point has pointed towards Sagat being a strong #1 character only, however not a rule with an iron fist #1 character, but of course some of you just simply do not want to grasp this reality.
named and shamed , i think capcom should of made the game so it rewards the points to the person who dosnt quit , i had this happen to me alot and it really fucks me off :annoy:
I think he’d be legitimately fair if they took 100 health off of him. Give him 1000 health instead of 1100 and I think he’s balanced enough to be in the neighborhood with the rest of the cast…
I have NO idea why they gave him 1100, it’s just not congruous with the rest of the cast. I think his specials, Ultra and damage are too good for him to have the extra 100 health to boost him up more. It gives him the, “this mother-fucker won’t die” factor that he just does not need.
I don’t think he’s quite broken but he’s definitely the strongest character in the game.
Overrated. He is overpowered in the sense that he has a strong damage output but once you figure him out, things balance themselves out. He needs to be tweaked more so than any major nerfs.
Because people know that if you win with Sagat, people will say that’s the only reason you won
j/k
He’s strong but not unbeatable.
How is stating he is broken, which most everyone in this thread is doing, some how related to me needing to play Dead or Alive?:wonder:
LOL… okay, I was exaggerating…
But, seriously, his only defense against my Viper is a properly spaced, well timed tiger knee. Add me on PSN and I’ll show you what I’m talking about.
Overrated. He’s good without a doubt but people seem to think he’s unbeatable which really isn’t the case.
Yup. That’s it. Sagat reached down to help Ryu up. Sagat believed Ryu could take no more, so he let his guard down, effectively ending the official match, and when he reached down to help Ryu up, Ryu sucker punched the king.
Why do you think Sagat got so pissed?
By the way, Metsu Shoryuken means Murderous Rising Dragon Fist. It was supposed to kill Sagat. Yup. Ryu tried to kill Sagat.
I just figured Sagat was a baby for having lost… ya know, maybe his first loss ever?
He got off easy I say! With that said, I want me an evil ryu update! Gimme gimme gimme!
overpowered
QFT. Unfortunately, idiots have a built-in resistance to hard facts and good logic.
that sonfabitch
SAGAT PWNS NO MATTER WHAT GAME HE’S IN!
give credit when credits due. Sagat FTW in my book.
