But wasn’t O.Sagat especially broken for his fireballs? Because from SF4 to SSF4 they haven’t changed.Also it looks like Agry Scar EX TU does around 240 damage, judging from the vid against Juri.

Sagat will be fine. He was balanced. His overcompensated stamina values brought down. His damage toned down. He can keep all the other properties.

yh i agree he in vanilla he was like the perfect character, atleast now he lle be better balanced and still fun to play with.

the only analogy is what happens to sLK (the exact same thing lol)

If there’s on glaring weakness, pathetic tickthrows, unlike our homeboy ryu. And he can be safe-jumped, unlike Ryu.

Haha yeah man, that juggle was pretty bizarre. Its like a cherry ontop of that nasty cake.

Angry scar is more worrying for me, because I want to see what opportunities it grants him. Risk or no risk, if the risk return is incredibly in his favor, we’re gonna see some very balls out matches. I mean, what does Sagat really lose when the player gets that execution down solid? I’m more worried for characters like Guy, who so far have to work extremely hard.

To me, it comes off a bit like he can just step out of the damage scaling entirely and just be like 'hey, I’m just gonna do some damage here, coo?"

I mean, how can I really call this stuff entirely risky if the other player is gonna be so terrified to do anything once he builds enough meter to be threatening on very small risk’s anyways? I mean, nobody want’s to go balls out to much in a game where the reversal can be a seriously scary thing at times, and the risk of 50%+ damage easily without even using and ultra is sort of creepy to me.

Well, lets combine this goodness with existing FADC-itis. Meaning that the most threatening situation in vanilla was definitely Ryu or Sagat with two ex’s. As we already realize, those two could change the game up by getting a solid educated guess in on block strings and taking advantage of the situation if you chose to take that risk. So yeah, Sagat can just go for a TU, fadc right out of danger, and if he see’s it hits, he could ultra on sight reaction free for major damage. This led to people doing a lot less block strings against meter keepers that were usually solid in clutch situations, and you’d have to pick your spots *very *wisely, or eat major damage. Combine the fact, he still has this, even though he doesn’t have the anti trade, it is still brutal. You add scar onto this and the instant he gets 4 ex’s/super stock, hes gonna literally disable certain characters with a single opportunity netting him a insurmountable lead, by the fact that the damage seems different. Naturally, people aren’t gonna attempt long drawn out block strings they usually would. I sort of visualize sagat as like me fighting a hoodlum on the street, at first I may do good protecting my property, but once he pulls that gun out, all he has to to do is guess with the trigger. Like, you do all the damage you want, but its like you’re just giving him all the opportunities he needs to crush you regardless.

Its not unwinnable, but I always saw IV as a hill type game, not like 3S or other fighters, the pace is very different to me.

I always wondered if Mago was completely fine in taking damage just to have that threatening ultra on his side.

I seriously am having trouble seeing how Guy can do anything to this character in good faith once he has meter, and its not so much a issue of momentum, it’s the fact he has a option already by engaging in literally zero risk of doing a TU>fadc, whatever on confirmation, and he changes up by getting the damage that the game is supposedly designed to correct with scar as a booster.

Hope I come out wrong with a lot of this, and regardless, I am looking forward to release =)

Does anyone know if Sagats Ultra 2 can punish blanka balls on block or yoga snipers?

It’s been confirmed that Ultra 2 starts up quicker and punishes blanka ball on block.

SSFIV is hyped. OF course ppl going to over think SF and be huge theory fighters.g

Yeah as much as people try to talk down theory fighter…especially when u know a better version of a new game is coming out u just have to brainstorm a few things at least. I think about Super SFIV Ibuki like every fucking day. :lol:

theory fighter is a game in itself. its fun! gets the braincells in motion

Lets just be happy for the time we can theory fighter for fun. Instead of later, we come up with a cool original theory that might work, and then someone shoots us down with a 4 second youtube clip proving us wrong and calls us idiots.

I think about how bad I’m gonna get taken apart by Super SFIV Ibuki like every fucking day.
