Besides…since when was a character’s strength determined by how good their EX moves were? EX moves force you to waste meter as it is. I still stand by Capcom looking to make Sagat strong without shoryu FADC and trade ultra being the centerfold of his game. As long as they pulled that off I’ll be fine. I wouldn’t mind a Sagat that isn’t so reliant on just fishing for uppercuts to win matches. As long as the AS buffs nearly make up for it he should be straight.
sagat’s normal specials are already better than a lot of the cast’s ex moves.
Ex knee and Ex TU don’t have half the utility of Ex shots. lol@dramalord. I’m not being dramatic. It’s truth. His ex shots are his best ex moves. No one can dispute that. BTW Sagat’s Ex TU doesn’t not do the most damage out of the ex dp’s. Pretty sure that honor belongs to Ken. It’s not nice to lie. Ex TU is hella nice for setting up Ultra combos, but when you compare start-up and invincibility it’s definitely lacking. Stop being blinded by comboability. As far as Ex knee goes…I’m burning a stock for a move with no really good additional properties. You can make a case for Ex TU, but Ex knee? Hell fucking no. My mentality is thus…I’m using a stock…it better be worth it. Why do you think Sagat’s sit on meter so damn much compared to Ryu’s? They BOTH have DP FADC, but Ryu’s Ex moves are hella nasty so he has reason to use that bar more so then Sagat. A Sagat would be a fool to rely more so on Ex moves then to just sit on that bar like a champ and make a nigga afraid to hit a button.
Now thanks to that DP nerf and the AS buff, yeah Sagat will have more inclination to use that bar.
Man, you guys are such nerds, I mean, you are taking theory fighter to the next level. Just hope you realize what you arguing about will be irrelevant on the 27th.
You realize I’m talking about Vanilla Sagat for the most part right? Nothing theoretical about a game that’s been out for 2 years. lol@irrelevent. How do you think advances in a game even come about? Niggas talk about shit and experiment with shit and test shit. Has to start somewhere.
Stop complaining lol, i think sagat will still be top 3/2 .
Shit he might be. I just don’t like Capcom’s PR bullshit. Still, not as bad as the outright lies about Guile. That shit was painful to read.
Word. This is about all the words u need from anybody about Sagat in Super.
Yeah well it still does near the best damage in the game and does good damage even if it hits pretty high in the air, not to mention its good horizontal range and ability to kara. And i think you’re wrong about ex dp in super, i think it could become a lot more important to sagat with trades getting nerfed and dps in general.
Word. Getting juggled full-screen is a fucking joke.
Umm…Ex TU has 11 or 12 frames of invincibility. That’s more than his ultra. How is that lacking? It’s not ridiculous like seth’s (startup and every active frame invincible, meaning around 27) but it’s still a heck of a low.I mean guile has like 5 or 6 frames of invincibility on his ex flash kick, which is his uppercut move.
Yeah EX TU has insane invincibility. I can’t remember a SF other than SFIV where your special moves have long enough invincibility to cover a napalm explosion. Another part of the reason why people don’t press buttons in this game. Luckily the recovery on EX TU is terrible and u would waste 3 meters trying to FADC it.
HDR Ryu’s lp srk. Also SF2 supers. yeah they are not special moves, but with the quickness of bulding super in 1 or 2 blockstrings or 2 SPDs they were used pretty often and have insane invincibility.
EX TU invincibility fails where it matters most, vs. Ryu and Akuma, since their EX beats yours. If you’re on the ground, with a sliver of life left, and they decide to EX SRK you for chip damage and you try to EX TU in retaliation it’s no point.
What game are you playing where you are constantly trying to outbeat uppercuts against shotos to win matches? Sagat has more health than both Ryu or Akuma does. If it’s down to the point where both are at a sliver of life…then yeah u should probably lose. Shouldn’t have made enough mistakes to bring the game down to EX shoryu vs. EX uppercut. If that’s all a matchup came down too then Rufus would be top tier. If the only way you can beat people is by bringing every round to a sliver of health then u need to look into being a smarter player that doesn’t get hit as much on your way to winning.
You wouldn’t be able to last 2 minutes in a game of Super Turbo. There are plenty where you are basically dead to if you are in the wrong place on the screen or knocked down. SFIV gives you way more incentive to not bring a matchup to EX upper vs. EX upper FTW.
His point was that it isn’t THAT great of a move. I only use it against dummies who think it is a good idea to raw ultra me point blank with almost any character. It beats everyone but Guile and it only evades Blanka. That is it’s only use as far as I am concerned. I don’t think I have a single use of it against any decent player.
With that said, I think his EX moves are fine. I don’t really use them, because sagat has some of the best FADC options in the game. I think AS is going to fit into my play style perfectly, I tend to build up meter faster than I can use it, so it may be my favorite ex move… can’t wait to see.
Well since Sagat can still trade and get decent damage on most jump ins he’ll only need EX upper if he wants to absolutely win against a jump in or get out of shenanigans like Blanka Ultra on wake up.
LOL, you totally missed my point. And I play turbo pretty regularly, so no, I’m sure I’d last with even N. Sagat.
Well now I got ur point but u should have just said it loses to other EX DP’s instead of that story about the time when u almost won but u went for EX dp and lost.
On the serious though N.Sagat is solid.
sf4 sagat = o.sagat
ssf4 sagat = n.sagat
