But Sagat being a decent guy walks up to Ryu to help him off the ground and give him props for putting up a good fight. Ryu gets pissed off at himself for being weak and taps into the Murderous Intent i.e Satsui no hadou and blind sides Sagat with a Metsu Shoryuken.

Or maybe people are bitching about Sagat because he’s S-tier compared to Ryu, rather than simply because he’s S-tier. Tightening the matchups to where he’s got more 5/5’s will not break him.
if you want to tighten the match ups then giving buffs to other characters are in order, and nerfing sagat is not the way to go. For example if you want to tighten the vega vs Sagat match up you are going to have to give invul frames to scarlett terror, see my point? Nerfing does not accomplish anything. And why cry about match ups any way? have you played other SF games, instead of SF it should have been called Match Fighter. This game is about as even as it could get and you should be thankful this game is balanced. If Guile/Vega worked liked they did in ST or CVS 2 they would make Street Fighter 4 Sagat look like a D tier.
And can anyone explain to me why you people think Sagat is broken, there is nothing broken about him. His fireball game has always been that fast, his damage output has always been that ridiculous, get over your selves people. Blaming character X for your short comings shows that you still have a lot to learn and that you dont know much about the mechanics of SF 4.

edit: and why would Ryu players cry about the match up. Ryu to me is more balanced than Sagat is. ryu has great footsies, zoning, space control, block strings, great EX moves, strong normals, great pokes, power full specials, takes advantage of FADC really well, great damage output, scary/viable/useful/accessible super, great meter building skills, normals that shift his hit box. He can take advantage of every single mechanic of this game except for resets and mix ups.

there are many things im missing in the list but you get the idea right. and when the majority of players are Ryu players they really should not cry about any character because they are well of. with Ryu.
tiger knees should never give sagat frame advantage. maybe lk version can leave him at even if they hit during their very last active frame, the others should be very punishable, at least -5 or more on block. His current tiger knee rush down is better than Bison’s scissor rush and that makes no sense.
j mp hitbox needs to be nerfed and should be less active.
Yeah I just got started to liking Sagat as a character so it’d suck to see him go back to Alpha 2 status.
LK Tiger Knee +0 on block, MK -4 and HK -shitloads. Still leaves a viable block string.
These are legit improvements on Shusty’s part after you take into account Sagat already being rebalanced, these are things he could be given (although he’s not the only character that can’t chain jabs). You guys need to keep in mind these are changes for a new game where the characters will play differently. It’s not “give Sagat these improvements and everyone stay the same!” You have to take into account other character changes before you judge someone suggesting improvements for Sagat.

If Sagat become weaker, he will also become faster and better throw range. They cant just make him weaker, then I will suck bad, they must make something else better if they make something weaker
Fix his Ultra so that it never whiffs or doesn’t fully connect in corner.

Since other characters will probably all get buffs, they’ll mostly all be better overall and more suited to fight Sagat.

that being said his armor break should either be less safe or be switched to something else. its almost too good for him to have. fight my way in past tiger shots for 20 secs to get armor smash bitch smacked back across the screen again.
id be okay with that wacky kara knee shit if it didnt break glass while i try to absorb a shot. something has to give. either no more sagat kara specials, or knee much less safe, or armor break moved to a less safe move.

And in regards to Henaki, yes, you can properly space TK to hit once only, but in doing so, (assuming they are doing it in a block string) the gap between xx attack and the last hit of TK is so big that it isn’t a true block string. It’s similar to the Shotoforce’s c.mk xx Hado string.
