Sagat didnt look weak to me

Look at the damage on his tiger uppercut. Granted some of those were his lp version but even the damage on the hp ver. looks less than in sf4. His “new” charge up ex is probably just a poor man’s compensation to increase TU damage (probably good for only one TU blocked or hit).

it’s absolutely retarded that the game gets stopped so sagat can pull it off - it basically makes the move safe 90 % of the time

if we assume this is some kind of universal thing, then the 1 ex stock thing is gonna mean that characters that gather ex-meter easily and don’t rely on it will become better and characters that don’t are gonna become worse

im gonna reserve final judgement until we hear more about it/the game is actually gonna be released - but atm i don’t like how this thing has been implemented at all

i’m assuming by writing all of this that you’re considering the huge loss of damage that would occur due to the fact that you’ve just linked 3 weak jabs, into headbutt, into ultra. you call it safe, i call it a waste of an ultra. the damage you’d get from the ultra is minimal at best. the difference is that sagat and ryu can combo into ultra safely and damaging.

The thing is though, DP isn’t safe. If you blocked it, you should punish it. But the DP FADC? It already cost half of your meter bar for the trade and it’s like not let say Ryu can DP everytime and FADC’d out of a “bad attempt to physic DP you” and because of it, it doesn’t happen as frequent as everyone is making it out to be.
As effective as it is, all you can do is block and wait it out for if you whiff a punishment because of it, you just got juked. Should you just block it, your not going to go “man, I just got chipped damage, now I’ll never win at this rate!”, it’s just silly little chip damage and if your getting hit consistently without fail, theres something wrong with you (It’s like saying Ryu throws fireballs at you and you kept on getting hit and then you blame fireballs for being too good). Trying to nerf the whole DP FADC is basically nerfing the mechanics of the FADC which will affect everyone else to a degree in their ability to manipulate the mechanic, not just DP’s in general.

Take it or not, at the very least you know they have less meter then they did before for that attempt.

In SF4, HP Uppercut do 170 damage. How mutch do you think it does in SSF4? It cant be less than 160. I could be wrong to

Sagats standing LK is now two hits. Is this better or worse? It was also a bit slower I think

Uhhh. It’s no different overall. Close lk was already frame 5 and far lk was frame 6, so I doubt the frame data is much different. A small change that is pretty negligible imo.

Sagat’s tiger cannon damage doesn’t seem that different from ryu’s metsu really. maybe a little less but if you factor in tu fadc f hk tiger cannon I bet it’s fine

His TU damage is greatly reduced. And the weird flash move buffs it back up to SF4 levels.

If I calculated it correctly, then the cr.hp xx falling sky for SFIV abel does 250ish, and he did it twice, aside from the st.mp? prior to that, sagat definitely got a health nerf or abel got a damage boost.

What if they decided to take a page from HDR and only make the first hit special cancelable? That has to be the reason behind the change, I mean, why else would they give him another auto focus break normal? As it stands right now, max range st. LK xx fireball pushes your opponent back too far, so I feel like it’s a warranted nerf.

And why did I think it was 8F for the longest time? Is the Event Hubs frame data different from the SRK Wiki frame data? Maybe my memory is bad.

Max range lk to TS isn’t tight anyway you can jump that and punish Sagat.

Ah true, that’s right. You can do the same to Ryu’s cr. MK xx fireball too. Hell, you could squeeze an Ultra in that gap.

They need to “fix” the two best characters’ easy frame traps so they’re easier to pressure with from further away?

That’s not a frame trap and it’s complete garbage that you can DRAGON PUNCH Sagat for thinking it’s legit to do any light attack to low shot at any range. Let alone jump out at max range or near max range.
