combo into ultra from the character select screen
i think its japanese community only. seriously who want to take advice from a bunch whining american who only say "make him weaker he is overpowered"
there are so many bullshit posts on this forum I dont think capcom read many topics here
this actually made me laugh ahhahah
good job my fine sir…kudos…kudos
oh good…listen to the japanese community…so I guess we are going to see nothing happen with the console characters:wtf:
True dat.
You have to learn to read it between the lines. Gamers don’t like things getting ‘nerfed’ or reduced. Gamers prefer to get weaker components ‘buffed’ even when ‘nerfing’ is essential to game balance. Gamers like to believe nerfing is never needed. So often designers will try not to utter or even imply anything being nerfed. They phrase it on a more positive way. Euphemism. Standard practice in media relations - especially when the product has not been released yet and you are trying to hype it up. I am not saying that is the case here. I just don’t know. But to say that he needed to be literal is just plain nuts.
i lol’d for 7 minutes straight:shy:
Right, either we take what he says at face value or we just throw out his statement as worthless since it could just be a fan pleaser. I’m just showing you the likely hood of what will happen to Sagat under the presumption that his statement wasn’t just a fan pleaser. Is that a sound assumption? Maybe not, but it’s all just speculation in the end.
+1 to that.
I always take things like that with a grain of salt, but this statement was pretty clear, so either its complete bullshit…or its really true.
And even if it is…I’m alright with it as long as the low and mid tiers got the necessary tools to deal with the top tiers.
I have always regarded Ryu, Sagat, Akuma, and Boxer as perfectly balanced characters with good tools for any situation, that is the bar that I hope the try to raise the mid tiers to.
I’m not saying I want the game to have nothing but 5-5 matches…but I hope that each character can average something close to 5-5 when you look at the aggregate of all their matchups.
i guess the word “better” is relative aswell…since he could recieve a 1 frame boost on his lk tiger knee and that would technically make him better then his current state
Or just aa ultra connects in corner now…
with the roster jumping from 25 to around 32 i’ld hope bottom tier [Dan or not] gets less than six 3-7 matches and the top tier [Sagat or not] has less than six 7-3 matches.
I’ld like to see Sagat with a r.DP+P were he powers up Juggernaut style. Next attack buffed [10-30%] with Sagat possibly taking more dmg [10-20%] while in pwrd up state. Or his next Special/Super/Ultra is scaled up [10-20%] in a combo. Ex could have 1 hit armor and bigger buff.
Why not? I hear this all the time and it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Just because a matchup is 5-5 doesn’t mean the two characters are the same, it just means they’re balanced with each other. I know it won’t happen, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be something to strive for.
I don’t know how up to date the tier list on eventhubs is (and I haven’t played SF4 in a while), but it has Zangief v Dhalsim as 5-5. These two characters could not be more different.
5-5 doesn’t mean the two characters are the same.
That is a great point…that a 5-5 macthup doesn’t have to be boring.
I guess my point was just to say that I’m not one of those fucking whiners who DEMANDS that there be no uphill matches.
I mean shit…I main Chun. She has 900 health and a SHITTY wakeup game. She is really fucking hard to use and it has taken me thousands of matches to get good with her, because damn near everything she has from AAs to pokes is VERY situational and character specific.
So my point was just that I’m not asking for perfect balance by any means…just for no matches to be AWFUL, and currently many of the mid tier characters have a few pretty horrible matches due to holes in their toolset (or tools that don’t work the way they should).
If they could make all matches 5-5 without making the game too homogeneous or boring, I would be fine with that.
:china:
Yeah, like I said, it won’t happen, and I actually usually end up picking the underdog characters - I don’t know why, but it’s kinda fun. I just want to disperse the myth that even matchups mean boring and/or similar matchups.
Now back to asking for Tiger Knee->Ultra or whatever you people do in this thread.
LOL I just came here for the comedy and to remind people what S-kill said last week.
Agreed.
i just hope they remove his “kara everything”…the rest can be kept the same, but it’s not funny when you’re WALKING towards sagat from HALF screen away (or more) and you get hit by a blazing fast kara TU (maybe even with fadc ultra).
I mean, the lk kara is fast, but the rh kara is literally a lightning, absolutely no way you can block it online and even offline you need fucking fast reflexes
new tiger shotgun special move
for his new ultra he should throw an actual rabid tiger with AIDS that’s hopped up on pcp at you
Jokes aside, I have less of a problem with Sagat being powerful and more of a problem with the other cast members’ glaring problems.
It’s not Sagat’s fault that Guile flashkick->fadc’s into…absolutely dick. Or Vega was given a command normal that looks like an overhead but isn’t and an unsafe ultra that requires dialing a psychic hotline to use correctly. Or Blanka’s specials will get punished ON HIT by lots of the cast. Or Gouken has almost zero hit-confirmability into his combos. There exist many, many more peculiarities like these that cause me to wonder if Capcom honestly thought they needed those limitations to remain balanced or if they just didn’t finish the damned character in development.
Sagat needs a tweak or two, for sure, but I hope they don’t nerf him into oblivion because the masses are crying for his blood. I’d rather see him at S-tier than Ryu’s lame ass.
TIIIIIIGGAAAAAA INFECTION!
I fucking LOVE IT.
Nah bro, he should automatically give life-draining aids with a whiffed F+HK
