Neutral jump.
focus neutral jump block throw a fireball, walk forward and block. jumping forward isnt the only way around everything.
Remove his BnB trade -> f+hk -> Ultra combo. Just remove it. It is the most boring thing to watch (I’m a stream fanboy) in the entire world. I’m actually quite happy with Sagat otherwise…
How to improve Sagat? Make his dash faster.
Theres no improvement that he really NEEDS…?
Yeah. This is THE issue for me. I will completely outplay Sagat’s that have 3 times the Championship points I do (not that that means everything but it should be some indicator of their ability, although me working them like chumps could also be a sign that they are playing a character that is powerful enough to allow them to progress without much real ability…?) I’ll get them down to about 5% health while taking a little damage myself, but all in all I’m predicting what they do, trapping them, countering, taunting them when I could be punishing (not always but often) only to lose the match to some ridiculous power draining combo.
I don’t mind losing. I don’t mind losing to a lucky shot. I don’t mind losing due to a mistake of my own. I just think Sagat has a few too many avenues to a complete match changing turn around.
I main Dan… so go ahead and blame.
70%? You’re just trying to make him seem godlike. With full ultra it’s 50% - 60% depending on character, and if you have full ultra then you getting hits on Sagat obviously. Most of the problems with Sagat people complain about are not even problems just a lack of skills on the opponent’s part.
Sagat is going to get nerf, but that just means who ever is top-tier in Super will get the burden of scrubville. I hope Sagat gets nerf, so I can stop hearing the excuse I won because of Sagat.
deserve to lose 65%(roughly 650 damage on a 1000 life pool) of your health on a trade?
what other character can even come close to that?
Ryu gets like 450-500 on a trade to ultra. which is 150 to 200 damage less and he has 100 less life.
are you kidding, so every character should have the ability to virtually win the match on a trade jump in to ultra?
I’m not saying that sagat needs MAJOR nerfs but bringing everyone up to his level would make street fighter boring. He needs balancing:annoy:
Exactly. My options are very limited, the outcome of a jump in lk.Danku will be a clean hit, trade or I take the hit. Controlling that requires very precise timing and spacing, which can be almost impossible online, which is how the majority of matches are played.
Not sure how being the aggressor and dominating the match qualifies me as being a scrub. Oooooh I jumped in on Sagat. How foolish of me. Oh wait. I stood full screen away from Sagat. How foolish of me. Oh hold on now, I walked in on Sagat. What was I thinking?
The point is you HAVE to damage Sagat more than he damages you in order to win. There are quite a few characters that can only do this by closing the distance between and beating him up, Sagat has amazing tools for just about every situation, its not that he doesn’t need or shouldn’t have the trade into Ultra rather that the GAME DOESN’T NEED it.
As it is now many characters require near flawless execution and perfect strategy in order to LOSE against a scrub Sagat player. And don’t take that as a diss on Sagat players. Not at all. I can tell the difference between a scrub G2A (I’m G2C) that I beat in two matches, the first with about half my life and the second with only taking some chip damage, and a talented G2A that beats me in two and leaves me with my head spinning wondering what the hell happened that he could get a PERFECT on me.
The point of this game is to sell many many copies. And to keep people actively playing so that the online community thrives. In order to sell more copies of the game. Balancing the game is pretty vital to achieving that.
**Y’all can talk about how he needs to be nerfed, but Seth Killian ALREADY CONFIRMED THAT SAGAT GOT BUFFED IN SSF4.
His exact words “Sagat got better in SSf4. Everyone got better, so no matter what character you like, they got more juice”.
So its time to stop whining and wishing for a nerf and start thinking about what in god’s name they could have possibly buffed???**
I play akuma, so no I wasn’t trying to make him seem godlike. But really 60%, or 70% either way my point remains the same. Oh, and 50%? Now you’re just trying to make him seem weaker than he is, it’s almost always at least about 60% damage, probably more, all ON A TRADE, which is pretty unfair imo.
“Better” doesn’t necessarily mean more powerful.
It generally does in context that seth was saying it in.
Yes, I believe it does.
Better means more effective…whether or not that comes from speed, power, evasion, or trickery…better means BETTER.
**The bottom line is SSF4 Sagat > SF4 Sagat.
That is what better means.**
so nobody should jump in Sagat, right?
and what makes him so special? why CAPCOM gave him that gift?
so you can jump in other chars but you cant do it when facing Sagat. Ok, That shutdowns more than 50% of the other chars offsensive game.
nice. very nice.
and somebody would still wonder why is he top tier… camon, his trade/AA into ultra is ridiculously overpowered, we all know that.
also, his TShots are overpowered too: from very low to very high speed, high damage output, high pushback, large hitboxes, EX knocks down you and sends you to the corner, Kara cancelable, Super Cancelable (and Super is Ultra comboable so a TS can combo with Super and with Ultra!! for Gods sake…).
AND his crazy fireball game is combined with crazy AA game.
of course, to finish it, he is top stamina, top stun, and top damage output.
very nice CAPCOM, very nice.
Ok, he’s strong, but lets not be melodramatic here.
I can’t put words into the man’s mouth but if he is thinking in larger scope than just Sagat, say overall game balance, it needn’t. Come to think of it even if he is just talking about Sagat it needn’t.
Also, they can get rid of the specific issue that most of us have and still make him more powerful or better or more effective.
We can all agree that giving a character an unblockable move that instantly kills the other character wouldn’t be an example of “better”. So better can obviously mean changes in either direction.
If he wanted to convey the fact that Sagat was going to get balanced he would have had another choice of words, something like, “Sagat is going to get balanced,” or something along those lines. He said “better” and most people are going to take that as Sagat being a more effective character, so if he did in fact mean to convey that he’s only going to get nerfed he made a poor choice in words.
he also said that Capcom has been listening to the community on what they wanted…now does that mean they are really listening and considering our input?
Who knows, we will find out
That is a good point, we’ll find out next year. One way or the other I’m still buying the game
