wtf is up with people asking for damage reduction across the board?
It does nothing to address what makes a char powerful.
It just seems like a cop out. An easy way to just make the char weak without actually looking over any their gameplay.
If you want to make specific moves weaker then that’s fine, but saying ALL his moves should be weaker including his lights and his mediums is just retarded.
Or it’s just an easier way to achieve balance, especially when all of his attacks do so much more damage than an average character on top of his game plan being really solid in every aspect. His medium attacks do damage similar to other characters fierce attacks. It’s far from the only way to balance him, but it’s an easier way. I think a very minor 5% really wouldn’t be too bad on top of the necessary nerfs/buffs that he needs. Especially some uniformity on how his ultra juggles, he shouldn’t be punished for juggling himself in the corner…
Not that I’m saying it’s the way to go, but I know I would have beaten more of the Sagats I lost to if they had about a 5% overall damage reduction.
I don’t think he’s OP or anything. But he has more health and does more damage, meaning he can fuck up a few more times than your character can. With a little bit less damage dealing ability, that at least gives you one more fuck up.
Also, just reducing his damage doesn’t change the tools that he has, so it’s not really a huge nerf. If someone was to change standing RH, then he just lost a good anti air, anti poke, anti Gief normal. If they just change the damage, then he just has to hit em with it more times.
Despite being the obvious easy mode answer, it doesn’t seem like a TERRIBLE idea. Besides, even with a 5% or so damage reduction, he would still do more damage than folks like Chun.

as a balrog player It’d be absolutely no problem for me. Getting a heabutt trade into ultra is so fucking rare you can’t really rely on it. Plus it sucks as an anti air vs decent opponents (those that don’t do stupid jump ins) so doing it anywhere outside of a combo/punishment is a gamble anyways and shoudn’t be done unless desperate.
Ryu’s and Sagat’s DPs are a fantastic anti air (3 and 4 startup frames respectively i think) and they trade way too often, leading, especially in sagat’s case, to HUGE amounts of damage.
Remove those fucking trades into ultra
Really the Only improvement Sagat needs is removing the altered Stun effect of a “Counter Tiger Uppercut” (As apposed to non-counter) many times i’ve had an opponent whiff a traditional Tiger Upper - -> HK - Ultra. I don’t want to win because he got a counter hit on me, i mean it’s meant to benefit him.

Hurricane kick shouldn’t be able to fly over a low tiger shot. Fix that and Sagat is perfect.

I understand maybe doing tiger uppercut and missing the high spinning kick on cammy because of her small frames. Maybe that is the only thing that needs fixing. And missing cornor ultra

are you brain dead or something? regardless that we are talking about a universe where people can shoot fireballs and jump ridiculous heights, lets keep some reality to it. “tiger knee” is based off jumping muay thai knees. What is sagat going to jump off in mid air to perform a tiger knee?

i think we all already know, dan is far superior than sagat and technically regardless of the dan knee, the med and high kick version are not
i cant understand why we’re getting an almost new game with new moves so soon…this isnt the 90’s i can understand sagat players not wanting him to get changed i dont want honda to be changed ex headbutt going through fireballs would be stupid like blanka i hope this gets delayed by a season or two
