I’m really missing my TU trade into ex tiger shot…but I guess they had to to remove trade into ultra.

They removed its juggle potential probably to remove the no-cost tiger shot after an EX tiger shot from full screen in fireball wars. It helped distinguish his fireball game but that shit did hurt against my Dhalsim. :frowning:

Cr Short, Cr Short, Stand Short combos. Try using Cr Sh, Cr Sh, St Sh, cancel first hit into Tiger ???

It might work, but the first hit of st.HK has the special move cancel on the first few frames only. So if you’re a little further out it won’t cancel to TU, but it can still be Focus/Super cancelled.

He initially felt a bit ‘different’… but after almost a 100 games under my belt with him he’s still the king. TK not being as safe was a bit if a shocker, and I’ve wasted many a meter FADCing into low TS only for it to completely whiff, but he’s still a G.

Are there any videos of “good” Sagat Super SFIV players out there yet? I’m wondering what a good player looks and does given how all the special moves do shit damage.

I find myself doing a lot of Jump-in HK > MK for a three hit combo. It’s super easy to link and does better damage than jumping in with a T.U or a T.K.

Are there any other better jump-in combos that are easy and “safe” to do for beginners?

I said stand short, not roundhouse. I can only get one crouching short into the cancelable roundhouse, but up to three crouching shorts for the standing short cancel.

Okay soooo I kind of found something. I’ve never really taken Vanilla that seriously but i’m really pushing this time around and i’ve found out something great about sagat!!!

This might have been in Vanilla but i’ve never seen it used at all except in weird situations on like Abel or Rufus. On almost every character except for Shoto’s and Sakura, crouching Hard Punch links into crouching light punch fairly easy. Most characters can eat a TU after the L.p but if not hard TK will hit, and if TK doesn’t work everyone will always eat a tiger shot!!

What does this mean? FREEEE GOOD DMG!!!

Jumping fierce kick into cr. HP - into cr. LP - hard TU gives you 324** dmg. With angry scar i think about 380** and hard TK 289**. I tested it on every character last night but forgot to write down the specifics on every body type.

What i can remember:

Shoto’s(Ryu, Ken, Dan, Akuma, Sakura?): fuck it don’t even try, which makes me sad

Big Boys (T.Hawk, Gief, Rufus, Honda, Hakan, Abel): all super free and easy to do on no matter if they are crouching or standing the l.p will connect with ease(for me at least)except Hakan when crouching I think.

Boxer’s, and chargers/new dudes(Bison, Blanka, deejay, Cody, ): free as well but easier to pull off if they are crouching

Bitches(Chun, Viper, Ibuki, Makoto, Rose, Cammy, Juri ): Hard and sometimes impossible to pull off when they are standing but crouching helps alot.

Tomorrow when i have more free time I will break it down perfectly for all of us Sagat players. I think this can be something to get excited about since Hard Punch also connects after a jumping Medium punch/kick so its no just a jumping fierce you can use!!!

what are you talking about? TU trade into EX TS still works… in fact right now i’m currently trying to find out whether TU trade>ex shot>fadc>ultra works at more ranges than f.hk. although honestly that seems like a gigantic waste as ex tu>ultra or even just tu trade>mk genocide(>ultra?) is straight up easier and cheaper if you have that much meter.

EDIT: senkei, that was in vanilla. and unfortunately, it’s not a revolutionary new level of damage, because simply doing c.mp/mk>fierce TK does similar or more damage and is much easier(c.fp>c.lp is a 1-frame link or close to it, if i remember right). it’s also very spacing specific; you have to be extremely close.

also i am very disappointed in angry scar combos, aside from TU>FADC>angry scar>ex tu>ultra(4 meter and ultra but it’s the highest damage i can find right now). angry scar isn’t easy and actually does LESS damage than simply doing EX tiger uppercut. on the bright side, at least there’s more of a reason to use EX TU now. i think it’s a matter worth discussion as to whether EX TU or EX knee is better for tacking on extra damage in a combo. it’s probably situational, as although knee does do slightly less damage and doesn’t provide oki options, it has a ton of knockback.

You could do this in Vanilla as well. It was only ever worth trying on Sagat himself and Zangief if I remember correctly.

I figured that. It doesn’t feel really difficulty at all. cr mp - cr lp seems more strict. And you don’t have to be in as deep as you would think on the characters it really works well on.

going from a jumping fierce into crouching m.p to TU does 240. My combo does 324. I think that helps a little right?

It’s easy, and gets great damage even just ending off of TS (290’s). I’ll break down all of the possibilities tomorrow. I suggest you guys try it out and see for yourselves.

That shit was pretty free on Guile too. I only ever really did it when I scored a dizzy and wanted to be flashy, haha. No doubt that shit hurt a lot, though. :rofl:

as i said in my post, j.hp>c.mp xx f.TK does just about as much. in fact, it does 310ish, and if c.hp>c.lp really is still a 1 frame link or something similar, it’s probably not worth the risk of messing it up. moreover, i think c.mp>f.TK is more lenient on spacing.

and i’ll reiterate that your combo does do significantly more damage(~60) than any other option if and only if you have angry scar active(but if you’re planning on comboing into ultra, the proration from the c.lp will probably not be worth it). it pushes enemies too far back for ex attacks to fully connect, so it’s not really a better option when tacking on damage with ex attacks either.

however, the combo does do 120 or so more points of stun than other combos, so it does have its advantages.

st. close mk into crlp into TU is still his most damaging non meter combo.Tiger knee being unsafe means mastering your cr.lp links. If you can get down cr.lp x 3 confirmed into w.e then it will help you alot more with your TK traps in this game.shit is 1 frame tho.

What exactly does angry scar do? Does it only add damage boost? Does it give his uppercut different properties (juggle, more hit box, invincibility, what have you)? Is there any advantage to using angry scar TU over EX TU other than some fancy combos?
