I don’t think she is top tier though but who knows. She definitely showing some possibilites for this tho.
She looks good with her faster recovery sparks and easier to use reflects.
As for Sagat, Obviously some people leave him but he still can be used effectively.
He has been taken down a peg tho. Still will be good tho.
Conserving meter gonna be even more critical for Sagat tho it seems like at least.
Finally got a decent session of ssf4 going today and put in a lot of time with Sagat. The Tiger knee changes are really noticeable, even seemingly perfectly spaced TK’s get jabbed out by boxers. Was definitely tougher. But yeah, Tiger cannon is great! Blasting that shit during fireball wars is still catching a lot of people off guard, and the ultra does decent damage too. Biggest game changer for me was obviously the recovery nerfs on the tiger knee. Shit is whack.
It was still fun, though. I still don’t get bodied by people I used to beat in Vanilla, but the fights with our best fuerte user were a lot closer. Fuerte’s U2 is the truth, yo. That shit is gooooood. :bgrin:
It’s best to be used raw, or if you ever TU+FADC always put in the f+HK no matter what, it always increases damage. It is whack it doesn’t connect full even without F+HK, but hey capcom.
Dunno why Capcom now just went to giving sagat worse everything.I mean, ok, you nerfed him, but why make his ultra2 bad compared to metsu hadouken?I mean less damage, and 2 less juggle.Does it at least start up faster or travel faster?
Not that talking about Ryu specifically in the Sagat topic is very on topic but Ryu’s Metsu Shoryuken is good. It definitely does significantly more damage than Ultra 1 now that ultra 1’s damage got nerfed. Ultra 1 still has most of its utility outside of herp derp trade into ultra any ways. You can also combo into it off c.MK, fireball FADC. It’s kinda distance and frame specific but it’s there.
I don’t know about start up but it definitely travels faster as you can do EX Tiger into Tiger Cannon even at full screen. I was watching Sanford using it against Sabin’s Sim, that thing has full screen potential even by itself. You could fish for full screen jumps if you like and have a decent chance of landing it. The speed of it seems close to the Ryu’s Shinkuu Hadoken. I don’t know about other characters, but it may be a good choice for Sagat to use this rather then Tiger Destruction against Sim in SSF4.
If it only had 7, Ok, not 8, but at least 7 juggle potential it would have been great.6 juggle is kinda meh…Maybe they’ll fix it via patch, as they said there are chances to make patches? We should start screaming then :))
^ yeah causes its not easy mode anymore, the opponent is less fearful of mash uppers since the dmg is straight up laughable (unless u use three bars for fadc scar upper. meter management)
Honestly, as difficult as it could be to adjust our gameplans, we got the spacing tools to beat most chars, except for gouki
Low fierce has good priority, reach, and damage. Stand jab is also very good. Stand short isn’t what’s killing me. It’s the TK nerf.
I tested a block MK TK vs several chars seeing if they could reversal ultra. Fully blocked MK TK is -9 in vanilla if u stand block both hits. The Ultra that had the longest start-up, but was still able to hit was Bison’s U1 which hits on frame 12. Abel’s U1 could not hit no matter how many times I tried which is frame 13. This means that TK has an extra 3 frames of recovery tagged onto it.
This means on average if u do a spaced knee vs an opponent you will usually be at +0. If you are perfect you CAN sustain a rush because you will be at +1 so your jab will stuff w/e they do aside from an invincible move.
Even if it isn’t perfect, but the spacing is decent chances of you being punished are pretty low. A mashed backdash will usually get you out of trouble since you will often times be at -1 or -2 if the spacing wasn’t stellar, but wasn’t great either. So yeah you can still rush, but you are going to have to make your opponent respect you first and you will need to be pro as fuck with TK to rushdown.
