Sagat Combo Thread

hit confirm and it comes out 2 frames faster at the cost of range.

… wait if TU works than wouldn’t c.mp work as well? but then that might push them out of range of the TU. At school so I can’t test it.

CH c.:hp: c.:mp: XX TU ?

j.fp,s.mk c.lp XX TS FADC s.mk c.lp XX TS FADC s.mk c.lp xx TU works on all cast out of the corner. Of course damage scaling would make both that combo and the c.hp version a huge waste of meter

c MP is too short to connect after c HP… TU has a longer range.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is cl.mk, what is cl?
Can’t find it above…

close (near)

st lp * 4 is better and does more damage :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you my friend!:china:

what a shitty combo. And c.lk is faster and hits low. you might as well do c.lk st.lp st.lp… s.lk tiger shot or something fuck not 4 jabs

You guys could always TU you know, for like, a knock down, and fuck, like, more damage and shit. And option to FADC. And better meter building.

seriously why would you use that combo ?

erm, why would you do that instead of c.lk c.lk c.lp TU? knock down/better meter/ all that jazz

Is there a better bnb than c.lk, c.lk, c.lp, TU?

That is the best bnb combo for Sagat. You can get your hit confirmation and then decide if you want to tiger uppercut or tiger shot. Tiger shot if they are blocking and tiger uppercut if they aren’t blocking.

Personally, my main bnb is c.lk c.mp xx tiger shot. the tiger shot never wiffs (unlike the TU in some situations) and can be followed up with FADC c.mp TU for damage, chips on block, can FADC into grab much better on block than TU FADC grab.

If you’re good at ultraing without TU FADC, then keeping your meter for tigershot FADC combos can let you play a really nice defensive game while being able to randomly deal huge damage from a comfortable far range.

c.mk tigershot FADC c.mk TU is my bnb for max range. People just dont expect such a damaging combo from that far away.

Personally, I would love to learn TS FADC combos, but I have the reactions of a retarded sloth. I’m still trying to learn how to get in range for c.lk, c.lk, c.lp, TU without eating the opposition’s respective links. However, I still want to learn TS FADC combos at the very least for match-ups like say Gief, where maintaining distance is extremely important.

Well most useful LTS FADC combos have significantly more range than c.lk c.lk c.lp TU. And you really don’t need reaction to do it, it’s great to do on block because it sets up very well for a throw attempt. If they block your LTS and you FADC to grab, that’s about 140 damage IIRC, more than worth the meter spent.

c.mk LTS FADC c.mk TU has REDICULOUS range. It’s great after a jump in fierce.

You definitely have me interested, but I have a question. Would it not be better to sacrifice a bit of your range and replace the c.mks with c.mps considering c.mp is 2 frames faster and is +1 on block not to mention +4 on hit? Or am I just reading his frame data wrong?

guaranted ultra setup ?

man holy fuck i landed the EX knee like this on accident against a ryu once during the summer i thought i was just going crazy i tried in training mode for several days and i couldn’t do it
glad to see that someone better than me figured it out good shit man.

COMBO TIME!!
:r:+:hp:(meaty), s.:lk: LTS FADC c.:mp: TU  371 dmg + knockdown!!

Not only damaging, this is flat out demoralizing. As soon as they get up, they eat a fat combo and are flat on the ground again. Anyone have a better follow up for meaty F+HP? If you dont wanna FADC i think a tiger knee would work after s.lk, but it’s well worth the meter.

 Are you suggesting that sagat has a universal poke or something?

c.mk is great at long range as it hits when c.mp wont. It’s also a low hit

c.mp is great if you are close enough to hit with it because it’s faster.

and c.lk is as fast and has as much range as c.mp but hits low and does less damage.

s.lk is just as fast but has a lot more range while sacraficing the low hit. TU might wiff after, making LTS FADC c.mk TU your best follow up.

So no, c.mk shouldn’t be discarded since c.mp is faster, you should use both. Why does this even need explaining? More or less every move a character has (esspecially a character like sagat) has a unique use, you would do well to learn them. Frame data is only one of many factors that makes up an attack, if you didn’t notice all of the other values on sagat’s frame data chart.

Hm after some tests its actually way harder to make the opponent block the other way with this setup than it looks but still works if spaced perfectly.

Nice Haze really nice. Can you cap that so I can see it? I am down for the count for the time being, my 360 red ringed on me two days ago :frowning:

My only reason for asking was that my c.mks are frequently stuffed, I forgot about the fact that you were focusing on range. Also, it needs explaining because I haven’t been playing very long, so I tend to miss things…like all those other values, for example.

Excellent info, I’ll try to implement it into my game.

Glad to have people posting this kind of stuff!
