Or… you could not buy the DLC’s? You’re not being held at gun point.
I’d love to see DLC costumes and sprite updates, but I think characters is a stretch and could offset the balance of the game. Like maybe having a DLC Marvel Cinematic Universe pack where you get sprites modeled after the film Thor, Cap, Hulk, Iron Man.
Im all for DLC, but i think Capcom is gonna do it in large additions like SSF4 to SSF4 Arcade.
Two characters…doesn’t seem that large (maybe 4, I don’t believe 6, and I don’t count the balance as DLC)
I really don’t think Marvel vetoed ghost Rider, unless that is a random example that wasn’t meant to be true. The reason he was scrapped was the bike supposedly.
We care about balance in a vs game? Erm, okay, but SSF4 managed fine with 6 character additions, don’t see why MVC3 wouldn’t. Even if the DLC characters end up broken then that’ll mean either they don’t get played, having little influence and changing nothing, or they’ll be new high tiers with MVC2 potential. If DLC means Capcom get to finish developing characters they didn’t have time for then where’s the harm?
Ya man, and the shitty thing is they ruin it for the people trying to be competitive with the game. They get their cry baby nerfs and some shitty character that completely changes the game I was content with and getting good at for a year
I don’t see how one character changes the metagame completely, but…even if they were high in tier, wouldn’t the whole “they’re top tier, adapt” convo apply there? Unless it gets updated constantly, which looks at CAPCOM games it will not. That just seems like paranoia (which, in my mind, stands next to selfishness), even though I myself don’t really care if DLC is not there.
To me, instead of looking at it as “more work to stay ahead”, I think “another challenge to keep me looking good”. You’ll never know what you’ll find with something new.
I heard from my source that Jill was DLC.
I’m sure you did
I think everyone’s a little over paranoid that Capcom will listen to ‘crybabies’ whining about top tiers. The only time I remember them doing anything like that was nerfing Sagat in SSF4, and I don’t think anyone was that bothered.
This.
I meant large in terms of rebalancing characters, glitches and adding in new content(characters, costumes, modes). I do understand where your coming from though.
It’s a given. Seeing how what, SF4-SSF4 which is basically 1 game stretched out into how long and how much dlc there is? If there isn’t a remake of MvC3 or dlc and then another remake with more dlc in that remake, you could at least bet there will be some dlc on a single version.
It’s still not clear to me why people are so hostile to the idea of DLC characters in the first place. If they playtest them right and it adds to the game, I’m all for it.
How much do you guys think is a fair and reasonable price for Capcom to charge per character if Capcom pursued DLC? $5?
Keep in mind the prices Capcom is charging for 5 costume pack DLC for SF4.
My name is Smashbro29 and I support this message.
I personally think 8-10$ per pair is an acceptable cost. And they’ll be in pairs.
Uh, if I had to venture a guess, I would assume that Capcom would either use BB:CS as a baseline for that for the AE characters, than adjust accordingly for MvC3.
Probably something along these lines. I would hope it would be a little less, but I don’t see that as a reasonable hope.
lol exactly, I’m not sure it would seem worth it to Cap at those prices, but on the other hand people won’t pay much more so it seems a good balance.
