That’s one thing I wondered about… Uryo seemed to know the Seth matchup awfully well. Does he play console? Or is that all just experience from taking down CPU Seth?
Uryo didn’t really know the Seth matchup that well. The bigger issue was Sabin didn’t know the Viper matchup that well and suffered because of it. On top of the fact that Uryo is the best Viper player period. Fighting Seth is a bit similar to fighting Dhalsim so Uryo just used anti Dhalsim strategies to mess up Seth’s limbs.
Yeb’s gen got destroyed by Chris Hu’s ryu at evo2k9 on the big screen. Yeb is a good player but vs daigo? naaaaaaaahhh.

True. But I would think Chris has more experience with that matchup since he plays console. Then again Daigo is quick to adapt. But it will be interesting to see.

But I think the biggest difference with that was that Choi was trying to play more footsies (which was working pretty well for a while) while Chris was running away/zoning.
Evo was months ago. I almost beat Chris Hu at Summer Jam and that’s just from the limited tournament and online/offline play I’ve had myself. Even if Yeb got destroyed by Chris Hu he’s still more human than J.Wong or Daigo and Yeb will have had time to level up. Even then those guys are still technically human themselves and there were people who were getting at Daigo at Evo. Daigo gets got at all the time in Japan so you just gotta come with that nice shit when the time comes. Everyone’s hungry across the world for dat IV so you can’t count anyone out in any matchup these days. It’s easy to say “Daigo won’t lose to Yeb” but to say that Yeb couldn’t give him a hard time is out of the question.

Evo was 1 month and 3 weeks ago lol. It was yeaaaaarrrss ago. Not saying yeb didnt have plenty of time to level up vs Ryu but when the Ryu player actually knows the matchup, gen is very very limited. Daigo’s playstyle is similar to chris hu’s with the fireball zoning so that’s why I think Daigo would win. I never said it would be free Besides, yeb is getting all this hype cuz he’s doing these big fancy gen combos but to me it’s just hype. Jibbo’s gen is a lot better overall. I think rahsaan’s gen is better than yeb’s too and look what chris hu did to his gen:

Yes, arcade only players are worried about console characters…they have 0 idea about their gimmicks and how to fight them.
This doesnt mean you will win for free though. You can still lose to their fundamentals as a player, and if you dont know the matchup vs the arcade char, you can still lose. DevilJin coined it on the head when he mentioned me vs Uryo. Im sure he didnt know the matchup but at the same time I got overwhelmed by Viper since I am not familar with the matchup either.
With that being said, I think the best person to beat Daigo at SB4 real talk…is Sanford Kelly. Guy has strong knowledge of console chars (specifically Gouken, Rose, Cammy, Seth) which would be enough to give Daigo hell. yeb is GODLIKE though but I dont like the Gen/Ryu match for the sole reason that he has to jump to Ryu at some points in the match and Daigos footgame is godlike. Of course, nothing I say is set in stone this is just IMO.

AFAIK the recording and the streaming are two separate processes… so even though the stream went down there was probably still footage recorded.
