Also can you just speak about some of the crazy shit youve seen form each char that you never saw in the US?

Keep in mind that there’s a LOT of players that you don’t see vids of. Just because you don’t see youtube vids doesn’t mean that player doesn’t exist. The playerbase in Japan is so much bigger that for every character, there’s someone who’s REALLY good with them that you’ve never heard of. You can’t generalize all the players like that because there’s just too many to group into one category.
There could be an average honda who knows the Sim matchup well, and might do better than a better honda with a higher BP who doesn’t understand the matchup as well.
There are all sorts of players with all sorts of playing styles using all sorts of characters, so generlization questions can’t really be answered because the answer is the same: “it depends.”
idk if anyone can answer this but i’ve always wondered how japanese players felt about american players (in america, or visiting). we seem to idolize them and their scene in a way: do they have the same respect for us? do they consider us valid contenders? or do they not know a whole lot about the us scene and players? i know a few players said they enjoy the excitement in our tournaments, which is always nice to hear! this sort of things.
i guess i’m inquiring about a general consensus, since different people would obv say different things!

how welcoming are they of you as an american there? are they cool? helpful? etc.
do players in the japanese scene help each other out more, with advise and being receptive and whatnot, than we do in the states (or at least your part of the states)? i think i heard a few players saying they aren’t happy with the communication here, but i don’t know a whole lot about it personally.

There’s a serious crackdown on drugs in Japan right now. You do not want to get caught with it, and J cops have a habit of treating all non japanese as suspects.

Has your time in Japan…at the Shiozawa tourney, SBO, and the time spent leveling up in Japan with him brought any sense of comradery? Especially with the fiasco at the Shiozawa tourney when you were both on the same team. Or are your feelings still the same?
