Sabin SF4 Japan Q/A - match of the day: Barfights II

This is one of the stupider posts in this thread.

Does BigBox actually hold tournaments or are they held elsewhere? I know of alot of the tournaments but never knew where they’re at.

HEY FUCK YOU. yeah you got me lol.

To Sabin:

when you were talking about Akuma vortex and mentioned empty jump, you’re talking about a purposely missed demon flip HP right? not a true empty jump?

Why is that post stupid? I quite like the ideas, even though nothing beats offline play. SF4 within coast/region online is still good enough to become a pretty decent player. If they improve the netcode and add lobbies I think people will become stronger.

Sabin I just wanted to know who you felt was the stronger character. Abel is my secondary. I main Akuma all the way man.

I got a question based on this post sabin. How is pizza compared to in NY and on LI

stupidest post in thread. IMO

Dude not everyone is into frame data.

<------ I’m not into frame data at all in any game that i play. Doesn’t mean i won’t be as dedicated as a person who sits there memorizing how many frames you get in between a meter-less cancel into ultra with viper.

lol at sabin talkin in the background

Fran we have talked in person where you straight up told you don’t give a fuck about SFIV so…wtf are you talking about? lolol Well ,you mentioned all the games you play so I guess it’s w/e.

I would question anyone’s dedication to a fighter if they didn’t have general frame knowledge.

You might not know exacts but you should know your fastest pokes, the pokes that recover quickly, your frame trap moves. Basic shit.

And I would say that basic frame data knowledge is really essential to becoming extremely high level. I mean fuck…there is CERTAINLY no reason to go out of your way to not learn it.

It would only help your game.

Let’s just assume it’s even possible for online play to mimic offline play. The dude was talking about bridging the gap between US players and Japanese players. How do you expect to accomplish such a thing by only playing the top US players? Justin Wong is supposed to be the best in the US and he got whooped in Japan. So how do you expect to bridge the gap between US and Japanese players by playing him all the time? The only thing that will do is bridge the gap between everyone else and Justin Wong.

That’s like saying if I were to constantly play the best players I know in my area, I would eventually get to Justin Wong’s level. IT DOESN’T WORK LIKE THAT.

Yeah i don’t care too much for SFIV after EVO was done with i went from being really hype post EVO and then some weeks down the road i felt the same as when i learned sfiv.

But honestly there are people that are good and learn more through matches against characters than just reading and studying frames.

I never touched frame data for 3s in my life and still don’t know much about frame data in general and i fair out ok(well not recently). But i know frame traps without studying the data. Most of your frame traps and things you’ll figure out if they really work in match. Mostly others talking and telling you what prioritizes what. That’s why I’m constantly encouraging people to go to tournaments. Not to just compete but to learn in general. You can’t become the best player just by sitting at home and learning data if you can’t test it out in tournament matches. It’s like playing theory fighter 4 or Street Fighter Word Strike. Data imo isn’t necessary to get good at the game imo. It could help some or hurt some.

the sim player is really noisy. I hope this guy leave japan quickly.

and result is gief5-1sim

lol why all the hate bro? Let a nig shine for a bit, damn.

well its a open tournament so usually the big boys come out to play. i mean there were quite a few masters/grand masters at the last one. i already told you what i thought about the card system. The system is inherently flawed. Of course theres not really any grand masters who are scrubs. so w/e.

SF4 online netcode is not good enough for this. Period. Blame Capcom for this one, fuck input delay.

This is really silly, I believe we talked about this before and why this isnt always the case. Are you going to question my dedication to sf4, ive bene playing for years and I never studied frame data. Likewise there are people who know all the frame data and blow at the game. It only helps when youre at a good enough level to really apply it anyway and even then, its not a substitute for experience.

this is silly, its a hyperbolic time chamber for anyone because theres so many damn players

im talking about both of those options which is why its a “vortex”. I actually didnt mention demon flip hp in my posts which is actually yet another option.

I still dont know the answer to your question. I think they are both pretty strong its too ambiguous.

Pizza in Japan is shit, end of story.

Pretty much.

And I hope you leave this site quickly because you’re a skill-less ???

So when are you going to fight Sabin?

Sabin came across a country and an ocean, and you can’t get on a train to go fight him?

However weak you think he is, I’m 100% you are much, much weaker.

And that’s what everyone here will think unless you go fight him and show us otherwise.

sabin call him out if you get the mic again at trf ^^

Arturo, can you please tape matches if the Meru guy wants to grow a pair and actually play you.

Emblem Lord, pad player extraordinaire. Are you seriously questioning Sabin? He beat Scrubby Dan at Evo man and Dan is the best player here in BC (Air is pretty close though, a toss up between the two) This is NOT an easy feat. And he did it with Dhalsim. Seriously dude… no. Just no.

Yes, and no.

Part of the reason America is behind is due to a general lack of sharing information and not having access to great comp all the time. If the netcode was so superb that west coasters could play east coasters in a scenario where its at least 95% like offline as well as lesser players being able to get down with better players with OTHER good players watching and commentating…yea, that would help America as a whole a lot. I don’t think it’d make us better than the Japanese or anything like that, but we’d all get stronger.

Air sent Dan to losers and beat him in the Grand Finals of the NW Majors, so for now shouldn’t he be awarded that title?
