lol, Air is a japanese player.
Air is from Vancouver, BC. He trains and studies (school I think?) in Japan. He’s here right now AKS. Please man, don’t go down this road…
Perhaps Kenny is better, but just a week before hand Dan beat him in a local tournament 3-1 and 4-2. I’d say they’re on pretty much the exact same level. It’s a toss up when they play from what I’ve heard from Dan. It’s pretty much who can guess right more often against one another. In retrospec you’re probably right, they’re both number 1 but if you had to say “based on the latest tournament…” then yeah, Air. But keep in mind Dan might’ve been down but he certainly isn’t out. BC’s got skills yo!
Either way, my point was that Arturo is a fuckin good player and to discredit his dedication to this game in any way shape or form is like SF blasphemy. Seriously, new guys (myself included) show respect for the pioneers of this world wide scene. Show the man the respect he deserves.

???SABIN???

???:china:
Well from what I’ve read, he’s actually a Asian-Canadian(from the British Columbia region). He goes to school in Japan so he gets to play a lot of top Japanese players. So you could say his skill is a representation of there scene rather then the BC scene.
EDIT: Well Kuma explained it already so oh well. Go Air, Ameriken, and Kim1234, rep North America baby LOL
= win
Werd.
Or I guess I should say, ???. lol
Hey, tell Tenchou that Marty says fuck you. lol
I guess Sabin could do it, too. Next time he’s in Shibuya Sports Land.
no man… its KOTOBA
sabin was at SSL for the freeplay last night, and I became tenchou’s translator for a second LOL, even got me mixed up and i accidentally spoke english to him
Hey guys look I’m meru.
sabin are the gay. this guy are no good at strete fightr. japan is way better, you must give up. my 2ch buttbuddy all agree.
anyway so art im like…watchin these mahoshojo zangitan matches. its just so weird it seems like half the shit hes doing is obnoxious and stupid stuff like empty jump ultra that he lets whiff and empty jump 360+K that whiffs and shit. Also like…empty green hands.
Fuckin crazy. You should ask ultradavid about that match he really knows it well. Also like…arent you sposed to use cr. MP against Gief over st. HP cuz cr. MP goes under the lariat? well w/e im sure you know its just kinda too blurry to see exactly what buttons you’re pressing lol.
I still cant believe the giefs are that good. I dont think any american gief can give you shit. You should ask him to play your Seth i bet we’re gonna find out its like 6-4.
you should prolly ask zangitan next time about what you need for the matchup. get someone to translate its worth it
Well, he understands “Fuck you” lol
Translation plz k thx.
match were really close, so many round with less than 5 % life left…
but this is the money time and that a this moment than strong playey show there true skill.
look at how many come back daigo do…
anyway, don t think ex green hand are done randomly, I can tell you more than 90 % are done in reaction.
then about vortex mix up, I m not sure you ever face this kind of zanghief player.
there jump timing is really good and anbigus. they will make you focus on 360 to Cr lk you and to jump cross up/ not cross up in order to empty jump…
sorry sabin, every time I see a dalshim lose i m kind of happy ^^ even if seeing 70 % life barre disapear with zanghief ultra seems wrong…
I know playing dalshim is not easy, but when you face a good one that seems like a wall.
I exchange 10 fight versus sagat against one against dalshim.

k im out to trf if i can get past 2nd round im happy lol
mmm 1n th4 off1c3 watching ma streamz
I think it does. If two good players play each other a lot then both players will improve, because they’re continuously stimulating each others ability to adapt and find new tactics. The Japan scene didn’t get where it was with everyone leeching off an original god-like player.
Personally, I detest online fighters and much of the BS I go through when I play online. I don’t have a brilliant connection and once the reaction window for anti airing effectively gets squeezed too small, you get abused hard by jump-ins to endless ticks and hit confirms. Need to keep the input pinned on down/back for prolonged periods of time for the DP that might be coming any moment and seems to hover in the floaty environment, remaining active for stupid amounts of time.
However, on a site like SRK there’s lots of hard-chinned attitudes around towards things like randomness, luck, cheapness and the online deal. I wanted to ask a legitimate question for the thread and probe how a player like Arturo would feel about onlines legitimacy itself even with an optimistic viewpoint.
Hey Sabin could you mention Ustream.tv or justin.TV to the TRF guys?
Gods Garden used it to stream their event and the shit was immaculate. Stickcam… not so much.
Anyways, thanks for all the great info on the Japanese SF4 scene.
Damn, beastly Dictator playin atm. Ryu’s pretty damn good too. BP really doesn’t mean a whole lot but still, no bad master’s and grand master’s is proof it does work.
Yeah man!! this is awesome
but how the fuck the dictator manage to do a dash then fierce punch into p. crusher?? lol
good games there
Sabin, I have a question, or for anyone who plays in Japan. How does the class rank and BP system work? I always figured that BP and class was linked together. I figured you rank get brought up when you meet a BP quota. However the other day I was looking at a match with Yazu who is now around 88k BP, and he is still a master. I’ve seen matches where someone has 70k BP and they are grandmasters. How does someone achieve a grandmaster rank? Thanks in advance.
