mannnn arturos gonna come back to the us and be gdlk haha.
Dendentown is good for a lot of things, but not necessarily SFIV. Comp at Sega AVION is definitely good but IIRC Mist II has the best comp in Osaka. Maybe Az has a different opinion.
I used to live right next to Dendentown. I know that there are some super cheap hotels in the Japanese ghetto of Nishinari, you can also look up Orange House which I believe is about a 2 train stops away from dendentown. You might hit up SRK member RoninDRE-X who stayed at a temporary housing place right in the middle of Dendentown.
So like…the Gouki vortex you speak of is a mixup between jumping fierce, crossup tatsu, empty jump throw, and empty jump cr. LK, right?
What are the other vortexes?
Where the fuck is the You vs Daigo money match already?
EDIT - Mario dude pretty much answered my question. I’ve been using the vortex apparently, but not in a beastly enough manner. Can you elaborate on a top level mind screw vortex with Akuma?
On knock down I use cross up tatsu/jump in hard kick mix up. I need to start using the throw. Sabin help me perfect my vortex so I can suck people in daily no homo.
Oh, and random question Sabin. I’d like to know who you think is better character, C.Viper or Abel. I’ve been getting into it with some others in the match up thread and I believe Abel is the more solid character from top to bottom, but I also think Viper is really good, too. Would like you to give your opinion.
gouki vortex is like, land any combo into tatsu, sweep
after that, then sets u up in the perfect position for
crossup air tatsu -> sweep
you can try this again, if they are in disbelief of the crossup after 2nd sweep
or you can mix it up with ambiguous j. forward, then you can do stand jab -> rh x3 ending in tatsu/sweep, by then they are usually stunned tho
lastly if they start becoming wise to which way to block, you can do demon flip to catch them if they try to block…
then you can mix up with empty jump into cr. short into combo…hard to tell which side they will be on either…
combine this with gouki air fireball crossup setups (or fake crossups) and you have the best vortex in the game imo, though you really need to watch 10-15 games before you can see ALL the options cant see them all in 1 video. basically everyone who gets hit by this is usually free for the rest of the round, shit is cheap as fuck.
also im not sure about this but i think goukis demon flip will grab crouchers on the first frame of their wakeup, kind of like how cammys hooligan wil grab crouchers on their wakeup frames (not sure how many people know about this, but sanford showed me this months back.) I think Goukis demon flip has the same property.
also you asked me about jpn dictators, i dont see them doing much different stuff really, its just a difference in playstyles.
Sabin/Azrael: I can host sessions at my place again, no prob. Just gimmie a date when you wanna do it and I’ll be ready. My dorm has a lobby which is gigantic so we can have a lot of space, plus there’s a huge mall where we can grab some eats, or we can just order pizza like last time. We’ll make sure to invite Ronin and whoever else wants to join in.
Ok thanks for explaining the vortex but…
yo. gettin mad vague on me art. nothing different except…the entire play style???
dude!!! gimme something man
like okay do they usually go build meter with devil reverse at the start of the round instead of trying to focus dash in? do they go balls out eventually and try to make you guess between throws/hits or is it mostly scissor kick pressure? random EX crushers from across the screen?
what do they do about yoga fires from 3/4 the screen away? do they ever bother with stomps?
Arturo,
Zangitan and Yuuru are down to play you. When you free?
If I may ask for those who are currently living in Japan to get on the SFIV scene there…Were you afraid that when you went to move there something was going to go horribly wrong and you could have possibly screwed yourself over? Also, if I wanted to move there to get on the huge fighting game scene there(I do) what would your best advice be? I’d say around the time I move there I’ll be able to speak at least decent Japanese. Since I took Japanese through high school and it’s one of my college majors. Thanks for answering in advance.
hi arturo
how the jap. players gouki. do they rush you down till you make a mistake or are there quit defensive and zone you out and if they see a mistake the change into rushdown style land there combo and go back to the zoning game ??
because when i watch vids on youtube of the jap players they dont hesitate at all
like they always wait that you make a mistake and then go into your face.
did you play nanashi aka 74 ??
what i want to know
what you think about fei long in sf4 ??
art whats the “cheap shit” ojisan/mago etc are doing, besides like kara AA tiger knees? i cant think of anything too OP off the top of my head people dont already use here.
I’d assume all the kara stuff plus the st. short into tiger knee block strings.
Do you know when niconico will post the last TRF you played ?
gl for the next one btw
Sabin, who is the youngest player with the best record there?
On average, how much money do these dedicated arcade players spend on a typical day?
Daigo was probably brushing up on his ST since Xmania was this past Saturday. Although, I did hear he got peaced out early.
I maybe lookin into a trip Japan. If I do “Rosetta Stone” will be ordered, lol. Does the invite up NY still stand?
Well what is there really to change about a character that uses almost no glitches at high level play and is limited to basic combos and footsies? Not to disrespect the character or anything but it’s not like Sagat where he has quite a few karas that most US Sagats aren’t using and has a lot of different normals that could still be utilized. Everyone knows which buttons are best to use with Dic and everyone knows there’s almost nothing left to be discovered about him.
The only thing that can really change is whether the player plays him more aggressively or defensively and their overall ability to react as a player. There’s no more secrets to Dictator. You could watch match videos and get most of what you would need as far as how Japanese Dictators play. I can’t imagine they are playing too much more different than they were 6 months back. A lot of people have given up on Dictator in Japan any ways.
Crossup TK into Ultra on wakeup. That shit is sick, like Sagat needed any more ultra setups
I don’t know if they’ll post the ones last Friday but they just posted the Wednesday “noob” fights on nico. Hopefully they’ll upload last Friday’s soon!
Daigo wasn’t at X-mania. People probably got him and Futachan mixed up.
