the “bonus” video is a broken link for me.
Yo Mike, I hear some Seattle peeps are comin out tonight to Espot. You comin bro?
this is character depending.
you have to do the first cr.lk as meaty as possible , this way you will recorver from it very early if it wiff. then if it wiff it means opponment was in an invulerable frame.
if it s a back dash shrk will touch nearly all character( chun li an boxer have fast and long back dash so better to use a sweep as OS)
cr.lk OS shoryu is no so usefull in the game but it exist.
this OS I nearly use it only against Viper. it will beat ex seismo, ex burning kick burning kick and back dash. it will lose to ultra and qcb hp.
It works also against dictator beating ex pshocrusher but timing is harder.
generally you can think that crlk OS is worst than safe jump OS but as you can t safe jump every time( like after AA shoryuken), some time you can use cr.lk option select instead.
the most usefull is cr.lk cr.lp+hk as it will sweep all back dash waking up opponment and you can tick throw if there are in guard or react to combo if it touch.
ranix, thanks for your videos, I’m trying to understand how option select works, I know the theory but not in practice.
I’ve understood how you did the first one but not the others, could you please post the inputs you’ve used in the videos so I can understand better whats happening?
Thank You.
mickey d shouldnt be licensed to make these vids lol hes so pringles lol lol
^ totally not creepy -_-
This guy is a troll… the guy above G Effect that is
he’s a fucking cock is what he is. Fucking rapist, in jail, sex offender… yeah… youre not a loser at all bro.
Sit at home all day ripping on everyone… theres a whole world out there mother fucker… go live in it (and tell me what its like… I havent left the confines of my gaming room for the longest time).
and if you REALLY (lmfao) beat me online … tell me what your psn is.
I’ve been watching these over the past few days when I do training and play matches. They’ve been pretty helpful, so I’d just like to thank Mickey.
Just another thank you in a sea of gratitude.
Also, your video on challenge mode is pretty comical.
LOL, I think you just blocked me on AIM, Mickey D. I sent you a link to a prank call video that I thought might be you. I hope you weren’t offended somehow. I was gonna ask about if you’re still doing Ryu training sessions.
Thank-you, Mickey D.:woot:
I truly do appreciate your efforts here. I think they will be of great help. Even to veterans of SF like myself, who for all intents and purposes, cannot do a shoryuken, FADC into an ultra to save his life much less his game. This combo just flat-out eludes me. I have had so many problems trying to execute it like no other. I believe this will indeed be of great help. Your tutorials, IMO, make absolute sense.
These are the first, I have ever seen that actually attempt to TEACH something rather than emphasize fanboy glitz. My hats off to you, sir.:china:
Thanks a lot for the videos Mickey’D.
Hope to see more =)
So many others have said this, but I felt like I should too: Thanks for these vids. I’m amazed at how something as simple as dividing the screen into numerical segments can help out so much. So again, thank you. I especially like Video 4; I feel it’s helped me the most.
Thanks for the tutorial
Keep it up
will you do an option select tutorial by any chance
I was going to :(. Been a bit out of the tutorial biz for awhile though now
Here’s a quick video for quick reference on what ryu can do. All these combos are mixable with FADC, just be creative.

I gotta say man, these are THE BEST tutorials I have EVER seen! I’m still a noob, having only been playing fighters for a year, but the way you talk about when to pressure and when not to and just the way you explain things… No one does it like this. Even though you’re doing this all from Ryu’s angle, you’re really doing Street Fighter 101. This is the type of useful knowledge that belongs in the noob forums. You break the stereotype of “Oh, just learn a few BnBs and how to combo into Ultra and you’re all good”.
Just wanted to say thanks and that I plan on bothering the shit out of you with questions in the near future.
This video shows how crazy Seth’s hit box is:
Is there any way of elaborating on it? I feel there is need for a hitbox explanation. For instance, take a look at the combo around :26…
I am pretty good to block cross up but I feel I am being too defensive and theres a lot of time I could simply punish it. I know this has been discussed many times but I
dont rememer if there was any concencus on the best way to DP evident cross up.
first situation: my opponent finish some kind of block string and I am in block crouching posture and he decided to cross me up. Now I think I should be able to DP those cross up 100% of the time. Whats the best technic , I have try many different input , still unsure whats best.
I can go 321 punch, I can go 621 punch, I can go 421 punch ( for some reason 21 should be a DP but I imagine cross up burn the fact that I am doing 121)
About the auto adjust DP, is this more of a wake kind of thing. I try doing regular DP (623) when get cross up but dosent seem to work , I instead get a c.hp
second situation: Somebody cross me up when I am waking up. Now I understand its a much more dangerous businness to try to DP their cross up. But what input would you use in that situation ?
thx for some input on this subject
