Ok, I built some ghetto rig with my phone, the TV remote control, and a roll of toilet paper. Here is the video. This is the new Trendy Ryu combo now. If you are a ryu player, you need to do this as all other combos are now out of style.

I cut the video to make the file smaller for upload. But it took me about 1 min to get it. So I think with enough practice, you could do it in game after a cross up.
Nice work! Someone needs to video this on a CPS-2 board and do it off of a cross-up. I think its great people are discovering new combos still on a nearly 20 year old game.

I’ve seen DGV do this combo in HDR.
I’m pretty sure there are only 2 people in the world that can do this. DGV and Diago.
PS, I can’t find the conversation I had with BR oldschool about that lk hk combo not being possible, but I’m pretty sure that he owes me a hooker or something to that effect. If someone could help me find it, that would be great. He could pay me back by making a youtube vid of him eating his boxers with a fork and knife instead. You can microwave it first if that helps any.
That was probably over GGPO, not SRK, lol. Did you use some training mode cheat or something? I am trying it over and over in Kawaks, SSF2X, and I can not get a single RH or Fierce to combo after cr.Shrot. Only cr.Jab after cr.Short.

I like this one the most. cr lk X3 into stand straight fierce punch. Not the uppercut fierce punch, but the straight punch to the face. POOOOOOOOOWWW!!!

I wonder why these combos are so hard to do though. I’ve done the cr Short, sweep combo before, but I can only get it maybe 1 out of 5 tries. And I can’t get the cr Short, Fierce combo yet. Working on it though.
cr Short, Fp combo is not working at all on my FBA emulator, no matter how I time it.
Awesome stuff, it’s always fun to see new tech coming out for a 20 year old game…makes you realize the true depth of OG SF2. Although I find it funny that a Hawk player came up with it, lol.
Gotta love those CPS1 chain combos. They are SO delicious. There’s something quite satisfying about seeing Ryu land his st.fierce in a combo.
well, looks like I got everyone all worked up for nothing. I think this is a bogus combo that only works on HDR and pasky’s training mode. sorry. i really wanted this to be true. I tried for a solid 2 mins on the arcade setup and I couldn’t do it. this myth is busted.
EDIT: I just figured it out. it does work, but the circumstances of the scenario are even more improbable then the previous discovery. The first hit has to be meaty on a wake up.
Yes, I got it to work on meaty also, but never otherwise. Strange that HDR and training mode gets it to work, but not the FBA emulator.
It is OK, Paper. At least you learned some shenanigan combo that may pay off someday.
BTW, it can actually work on Dictator, if he does a Crusher just as the cr.Short becomes active. He becomes invulnerable from one to three frames, which works just as if it was a meaty or landing recovery.
Does it work in HDR training mode, alone, or in all circustances (vs, arcade cps, arcade vs and training mode)?
So…it is possible in legit arcade st? Didn’t you try it unsuccessfully at watsons? Do you think that is a result of your execution, or that it is simply not possible? Even if dgv did it in hdr that doesn’t necessarily mean it works on a legit st cab.
Lol I read posts above and got my answer lol. So it has to be meaty…I’m pretty sure on big chars ESP it’s possible to do crouching medium to standing fierce to super. The couching m punch does not have to be meaty.
