fake hadoken sounds good, but for it to be quick enough to be useful, it will probably be quick enough to work as a no-meter FADC off most normals.
Well if it works like it does in HD Remix then a fake hadoken would basically be a nightmare for non fireball characters. I imagine a fake Hado would have similar recovery time to Guile’s sonic boom. Thus you can bait jump ins all day. This would also allow Ryu to have some freedom to throw fireballs at a close range because the opponent would fear being baited by a fake.

Its not necessarily about jumping, that was just an example, still, it makes little sense, for someone to get hit and hit at the same time, and then get a freebie.
Something a lot of people don’t consider when arguing against trade uppercuts is that Ryu loses the trade when he doesnt have meter. If Ryu trades an uppercut with you, and has no meter, you probably did more damage than he did.
True, but it means that when he has meter he has no reason not to try and go for it, since more than likely if he hits he can juggle, or even if he trades he can. True about not having meter, but if he was invincible until he lifts off, then trading into ultra won’t happen, and he will only trade if he does it too early, which means he will backflip in the air.

and cloth_X sounds you want Ryu have to use meter to land his ultra. and you do realize his LP DP IS crap in this right? it can get stuffed out by normals and such.

not @ rsnake. Fake hado would be bullshit in this game. In hdr at least its much harder to react to jumps. In this game so many characters float at the top that it would give ryu too much freedom. What would ex do, hit them with his palms if they are close enough and dizzy 100% lol.

Traded moves do not launch the opponent. Boom, this retarded trade dp into nonsense thing is gone for Ryu and Sagat. Also gone for a few other characters (Gief lariat into ex hand, for example), but that’s fine. This is also a way to fix this without making dragon punches invincible, which is good. EX dp is still invincible, guys! This game needs to be tweaked to make offense a more viable option, the last thing we should want is to make dragon punches better at keeping people out.

All ultras do less damage, something like 25% less for Ryu’s in particular. Boom, Ryu can keep his million non-trading ways of landing ultra, but that’s not as annoying now. Some exceptions, though, like Vega’s ultra etc.

I suppose it depends on how easy it would be to program number 1. The game would have what, like 1 frame to check if both opponents recieved a hit?

I know you said there would be some exceptions but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t in mind. :< other than that those three suggestions are golden. no knockdown on trades is very original and something i know i would like to see – even as someone who takes advantage of traded AA SRK’s.
