I would say even honestly,match is a little different for ryu.You have to be really conservative with your meter for EX Hado and even super to get through booms for damage,but once you get a knockdown guile is free on wakeup unless he does flash kick FADC back,that is he is free on wakeup if your safe jumps are on point,because guile is easily shut down by a single OS,Safe jump option select block+sweep.
I think this match up is pretty even, maybe a slight edge to Ryu.
i hear you but guile wins this match up his booms are better than your fireballs, he builds meter faster, his pokes are god like against ryu, amazing anti air when he is standing, also can punish fireballs with ultra 2, and normal poke that hit hard, he a guile plays the match up right ryu, cant when, (hint dimenion) all guile has to do is lame it out an he wins
It is very possible to win a fireball war with guile,thats only max range though,mid range fireballs are risky.Also I think ryu can win the footsie battle because Guiles s.HK beats low forward but Ryuâs low strong beats s.HK.If all else fails you have whiff punishes too,with Ryuâs low roundhouse.You canât jump in on gile unless you anticipate a boom sucessfully,so you kinda just have to match fireballs with him safely while you gain ground.Plus neutral jumping his booms works well,if it is a good guile that turns ino a mind game though because he can try yo walk-up crouching fierce you,if you press nothing it whiffs and you get a free combo,if he tries to walk up spinning backfist you it will catch you but not if you do j.MP,so that turns into a 50-50 or a stalemate.I think this match is even honestly,but that is just me.
I found some unblockables with Evil Ryu, and it appears that they also work with Good Ryu⌠figured you guys might like to know if you didnât alreadyâŚ

Question regarding one of ryuâs corner combos.
I can either do a jump in/neutral jump FP, cr.mk into his lk.tatsu but between the mk and lk input it somehow recognizes that Iâm doing the mk. tatsu instead. I check my inputs just in case and the lk is coming out. Yet when I plink out tatsu I can do it successfully and then end the combo with mp.srk.
Anyone know what may be going on? Am I derping somewhere or could it be my stick? I have the SC5 Soul Edition (I think its still a TE though)
I think youre simply getting an mk tatsu from negative edge ( the release of the button). When youre p-linking you c.mk you dont
get this problem since your timing is probably different. To avoid this, when you hit c.mk dont keep your finger too long on the button.
What moves are safe on block with ryu? I need to start playing safe, losing too much
his c.lk,c.lp,c.mp,and c.MK xx Hado are all safe
so
other than that, unless i fadc out of it, not safe? damn
well he has other safe moves that can be made safe but those are his best lol

basically anything he can cancel into fireball,but the crouching moves are his best because some of the others hit wont crouch ectâŚ

Ive test Solar Plexus, c.mp, st.mp xx tatsu.
I work on all the cast ( iffy on Balrog with foucs crumple). I does more dammage than Solar plexus, c.hp xx tatsu. If opponent is crouching you just do an ex tatsu at the end.
It seem a very good option vs character where Solar plexus, c.mp, c.hp xx tatsu doesent connect.
In corner it a better link than Sps, c.hp, lp srk , mp srk or Sps, c.hp xx lk tatsu, mp srk.
Solar Plexus, cmp, st.mp xx lk tatsu doesent connect on few character like Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan,
Sakura, C.Viper, E.Ryu, Blanka, Adon, Rose
Sps, c.mp, st.mp, ex tatsu, mp srk is good vs those in corner.
One advantage with this st.mp link is if you mess up your timing you dont get punished.
c.mp to st.mp is a 1 frame link according to frame data but it really feel like a 2 frame link.
The timing is not really hard in any case.
I woulnt say it a bread and butter SpS combo yet since there is all the question of range.
One thing is once you land Sps, c.mp you can always revert back to c.mk xx tatsu if you
feel you may be a little to far. Its still does more dammage than sps, c.hp xx tatsu.
With a Focus Crumple the concern of range or crounching opponent disapear.
It may be a better link vs certain character like Abel for example where his upward hitbox is big.

Hi, total newbie here so please be indulgent Ryu is the first character Iâm trying to really learn. Iâve checked the combo list in the OP and saw this:
SPS, cr.HP xx HP SRK, FADC, U1 487/420
Is it possible that HP SRK into FADC is impossible now? I can do MP SRK into FADC but not HP SRK. Is it possible to update the combo list because if itâs an error, I donât know whatâs possible or if Iâm just really bad. Are there other combos that are impossible in this list now?
Also on a side note, xx means âorâ right?

You cant FADC HP Srk anymore in SSF4 2012. You now have to use mp srk or lp srk.
xx mean cancel ( cancelling the animation of the previous move)
Sps, c.hp xx lp srk Fadc U1 is now the better link.
