Ryu changes in SSFIV thread

Who’s the second? I remember damdai and thelo considering him for #1.

Fake fireball, was implemented for sim’s drills, but had extensive implications across the board for all of his matchups, particularly against non fireballers, and in the use of tick setups, like jump attack, cr.mk xx fake hado > throw/overhead.

SFIV Ryu does not need a fake hado.

Did anyone at CES tried to FADC the second hit of his new HP srk? Or to FADC ultra the first hit?

You have to think globally with your change ideas. I main Dan, who has many problems but for this example lets look at Zangief.

In that match up one thing I would like is for Dan’s Gado to hit him out of his lariat. People start groaning as to how the lariat is immune to eveyone else’s fireball which is moronic really. That property of the lariat was given to Zangief (pre green hand) to close in on fireball zoning which Dan can’t really do. Tweak the Gado so it hits the lariat and that match up improves slightly yet none of the others are changed at all.

I’m not asking for more invincibility on his KRK to address this one specific problem as that would effect ALL of the match ups. Your suggestions are borderline bad enough to make me think you are trolling.

You can’t FADC off the ground, and the second hit of his f.dp is WAY off the ground, so you can definitely not count on that.

I’m sure the first hit will be FADC-able.

To get around this “nerf” can’t you just LP shoryu > FADC > Ultra instead?

Not really. People are telling this guy that his ideas for changes are unreasonable or silly or what have you I’m telling him the same and giving him an example of a change that is situation specific.

Ryu needs only NERFS not bluffs…just go try to play another character besides Ryu, Sagat, Balrog, Akuma…then maybe you’ll appreciate what you have in Ryu already

I wonder if FADCs have been buffed enough to focus the 1st hit and backdash the 2nd, or guard the first and focus the 2nd…

Are you sure about this for a fact? From the videos I’ve seen that may be the case with the strong SRK but not the fierce SRK. The Strong shows Ryu with one foot on the ground by the time the 2nd hit lands, but the fierce looks like Ryu still has two feet planted. Basically it looks like his current EX DP without the flash and extra range. Unless this is known for a fact, it’s still debatable whether or not you can FADC the 2nd hit of the fierce(and even strong) SRK.

So now Ryu gets a 2 hit SRK? That’s retarded. When did he ever have that in the past? So dumb. Next thing I’ll hear is a faster start up on his f+HP… honestly I think the reason people feel Ryu needs more is cause they suck at footsies
