Not easy to win with, but he’s certainty easy to use. This is my last post on this subject. If you feel that way just replace Vega with Dan and the point remains the same. If you feel Dan is hard to use, then there’s something wrong with you.
Saying Ryu has better options is an argument for how GOOD Ryu is, not how easy he is to use.
Whatever you play Vega, its a wonder that the first person to point out that they disagreed with me was a Vega player. Anyways, you’re running on a pointless tangent, if you disagree replace Vega with Dan. There, happy?
No, I am not letting this go, I am clearing this shit up right now. Vega is not easy to use in any sense of the word. You’ve got to practice that Izuna. You have to practice his links. You have to know all your matchups or you are thoroughly dead. You have to play around the fact that he has no effective reversal whatsoever.
NONE of his specials are good. You have to be frikking smart to make shit happen with Vega. He is not easy.
First of all, the difficulty, or amount of skill it takes to use certain characters, is largely subjective. Its a dumb thing to carry on an argument about for this long, and it’s even more dumb to make a statement as if it’s universal law telling me how hard a character is for me to use. Personally, I acknowledged the subjectivity of this, which is why I asked for you and this other person to replace Vega with Dan and my point remains exactly the same.
Secondly, half your argument here is an argument for how shitty the character is, not how easy he is to use. “No effective reversal” is a character flaw and while it does make it harder to win with this character, it does not make the character any harder to use. “NONE of his specials are good” is yet another character flaw, which makes the character hard to win with, but does not make the character any harder to use. You say other stuff, like “you have to practice” his links, that’s obvious for any character. Also, everyone has to know match ups and the only reason Vega has to know them well “or you are thoroughly dead” is because he sucks, not because he’s difficult to use.
As much as I love flame bait, I’d prefer it if you would scurry along and go play with your legos or something, champ.
Don’t fucking dodge this. You’re saying he’s easy to play as when clearly he is fucking not. That’s like saying Mega Man is easy to play because all you have to do is run, jump and shoot.
What, is he easy to play because he doesn’t have Viper cancels? Is that your point? Get outta here.
How am I the one dodging anything when you haven’t even directly responded to my post? Do you need me to retype it for you in a summarized form with more simple wording?
Sigh, I’m not sure what you’ve experienced around forums, but I’m not into flame baiting at all. Kill the argument and continue the thread. I’m not interested in whether or not you believe me. Drop it and talk about Ryu in SSF4.
-_-
A character having poor specials or a poor reversal would make them harder to play since you have to work that much harder to make your specials work and stay out of situations that you need to reverse.
That doesn’t automatically go to winning, but if a character has shitty options then it does make them much harder to use and subsequently harder to win with.
I’ve addressed this at least twice in previous posts, unless you actually bring up something new I’m done. Your attempt to “clear shit up” hasn’t done anything but heap shit onto this thread. Enjoy getting the last word in, peace.
Someone said Ryu is the slowest shoto…He isn’t…Ironically Ken is slower than him…
You guys up top are arguing about something that’s kinda subjective, which is why you can’t agree on anything.
Does having easy moves define a character as easy to use?
That’s basically what you guys are talking about, and technically no one is right. In the context of fighting games however, I would distinguish “ease of use” and “easy” more clearly. Ryu is pretty easy to pick up and play, but as stated that doesn’t have any influence really on winning in intermediate and high level play. I think if you guys would stop trying to win, it might be easier to see you are arguing about what defines “easy” in fighting games.
In order to play Ken well, you have to utilize karas and have a thorough understanding of precise spacing, mindgames and such (same goes for Vega, btw).
Anyone just trying to do the simple hadoken shoryuken game is better off using Ryu.
Can we all at least agree how ridiculous it is that Ryu is faster than Ken in SF4? Who made that choice?
