Perfect timing is something most top players are adept to. Seriously, if people knew about Ken’s unblockable in SF4 whn it first came out, they would be whoring all over him. Its not even hard to do. One forward grab and its over. Mixed with Ken’s insane Kara throw, thats the most broken thing I’ve ever seen.
Yeah, you have to time it so that the Ultra and the fireball both hit your opponent on opposite sides on wakeup at the same time. That’s hardly practical. Especially when there are ways out of it, like a move with invincibility on reversal.
So far, I’ve seen Ryu, Ken, and Sagat do it. Theoretically all fireball characters can. With the exception of maybe Dan.
removal of trade > Ultra is a wise move.
Its not that serious anyway. Both Ryu and Sagat will still be dangerous.
Trade > Ultra hasn’t been removed. Not for Sagat anyway.
And that’s the least of the nerfs for either of them.

I love how Dudley fanboys were complaining nonstop about how Ryu and Sagat were overpowered, and how it’s “vanilla” SF4, but once Dudley is the best character in the game and way more broken than Ryu, it’s all good. Awesome.

Ryu wasn’t even THAT great in SFIV. The only top Ryu player in Japan is Daigo, and that’s because of his natural talent, not because of the strength of Ryu’s gameplay. The ONLY broken character in SFIV was Sagat, so he deserved to be nerfed. But Ryu in SFIV was on a similar level as Akuma, Rog, and Rufus. He wasn’t significantly stronger, like Sagat was.
If you watch Wong’s play with Dudley, you’re honestly saying that he is not god-tier? I’ll be LMAO when the internet is 70% Dudley’s.
I feel you on the whole sagat thing being broke in 4 but im seriously thinking dudley will be fine, i dont think he will be S tier, now he very well could be the best character in the game but he looks balanced, i honestly think he will just be top 5, i would be more worried about ibuki honestly…

Agreed here - he seems like he’s going to have some problems with footsies and fireball traps.
His command dash can escape fireballs and is good at midscreen range against fireballs, but most fireball players will just bait that command dash to punish him.

THIS! Seriously, why are people as if cross-up fireball combos where just discovered?
There’s no reason to take a chance at wasting your ultra and 2 meters on this “unblockable” set-up when you can just combo your ultra.
My guess is you’ll see this as often as you see Balrog EX cancel into super. About once every 1,000 matches
That unblockable glitch getting too much popularity. That glitch going to be fix by Capcom soon.
As for the timing thing, alot of expert can nail the timing to do with practice.
They can make the hard seem easy.
My execution has improved drastically as i mained Viper in SSFIV.
It’s not a “glitch” and I doubt anything will be done to remove it. Like really, what could they do? Make some special new rule that fireballs can never cross-up? They won’t do that.
