Dudley was DESIGNED to take out people who throw fireballs, i.e. shotos and Sagat. He has a much better jump height/distance than Rog, and he has a ton of moves designed to get him past fireballs and punish his opponent. Again, will be lmao when 50+% of people online will be using Dudley.
I’m glad. IMO there’s honestly a severe lack of advanced tricks, glitches and abusable tactics in SF4. Too geared towards noobs who deem absolutely everything unfair.
So any fireball xx fadc xx into U2 will work? that means U2 is a viable ultra.
In the sense that it feels like 99% of everything has been figured out in only a year, I agree with you.
sorry but…yes it’s a glitch. these are not “crossup-fireball” setups…if they were blockable by guarding in the right direction the cpu auto-block would have no problem with them…but it fails.
these setups are exploiting a system bug which makes impossible blocking when your charachter is in “googly eye” state during the ultra flash…basically if you were already blocking the fireball you pretty screwed
Don’t mind Stay Crispy, he’s “special.”
Of course it’s a glitch, what are you talking about? And it’s got nothing to do with anything crossing up. It’s a side-effect of the cute little ultra reaction faces the characters do, which, if they occur on wakeup, do not allow them to block for the first frame. To fix it all you have to do is tweak the ultra reactions to either not occur in the first frame on wakeup or simply allow the player to override them with a block command.
cool story
was more of a fun fact, really
that I’m special? Sure, I guess.
Brool story co. Not only is it not a glitch, but your demands for free damage through in-game bullshit is tremendous! Bravo, sir!
Here’s the kicker: he’s not demanding free damage because Crispy doesn’t even play Ryu - he’s an Akuma main.
Isn’t that right?
glitch or not is not the big issue really. Unblockable set-ups isn’t cool well for the opponent anyways.
No, but Ryu is my secondary. Makoto WILL be my main in super, and Akuma will be my 2nd, so I actually won’t benefit from it at all.
It really has doesn’t anything to do with Ryu. I don’t mind Ryu, Sakura, Dhalsim, Ken, Sagat, Rose, Gouken or Seth having it (for some reason their threads aren’t blowing up about it. hmmm).
This was just discovered. NOBODY is in a position to say this needs to be removed. For fuck sake, at least see if it’s completely inescapable or if it can’t be countered.
It’s just like how when the arcade version of IV came out a bunch of people on the net were crying that Rufus’ divekick needs to be removed from the game. Jesus christ, before you bitch and moan that it’s broken, at least find out if it’s broken.
If it’s that bad, just get rid of the stupid eyes bugging out animation when you’re blocking. It serves no purpose anyway. Then it should just be “difficult” to block, but not impossible.
Could just give fireball invincibility during wake up for several frames.
All it means is that projectile types have to use fireballs hitting on the tip instead of getting away with it hitting them in their center.
But hey, from the looks of it, its just grab - back dash - fireball - cancel - dash forward - ultra
A cake walk compared to stuff in challenge mode.
crying in hopes of someone else finding a solution for your problems is easier than learning how to manage and deal with problems.
Is there any vids beside the juri vid of ryu using his dp and invincibility?
^
You sound more confusing then I.
Also, not everyone is suited to solve problems, infact many tend to cause more then they are worth.
The unblockables were merely unknown and not used much because of being unsafe, now I see they would be used a lot.
What are you talking about? It’s not complicated - pretty straightforward. If you have a move with invulnerable frames like ex srk or Abel’s roll, you can get out, provided you’re expecting the setup and know about it. You have to be doing the escape in anticipation of the setup, as soon as you see the projectile, fadc, etc. If you try to do it reactionary after the ultra freeze its too late. Other than that, you are screwed. Backdashing doesn’t work against most of them, you just get hit after you’re done. Sagat’s can be blocked by waiting to block until after the ultra flash.
lol at comparing this to a divekick, cmon.
i say leave it in and see how it plays out for atleast 3 months.
It is a glitch by its very definition. Well, unless you think the SSF4 guys actually intended to allow certain characters to land their Ultra for free on wakeup. *
It’s easy enough to fix though. They just have to make it so the blocking direction cannot be 2 sides at once with a very simple state variable or by forcing the defender to always block in the same direction as his attacker.
As for whether or not this will stay in there remember that both Ono and s-kill confirmed they left the appropriate software hooks in there to allow stuff like this to be patched. MVC2 predated widespread software updates like this so the glitches became part of the game’s “flavor”. This much simpler since the code base is going to consoles which are easier to update. By the time they roll this out to the arcades (if they roll this out to the arcades) most of the glaring issues should have been fixed. It doesn’t say a lot about how much they tested the game though if something so obvious was left in.
- If you do you should have your head examined.
