Ryu changes in SSFIV thread

lol at anyone wanting fake hadouken or any other tool when ryu has overall the most useful tools in the game. not to mention how powerful and safe they can be.

ex tatsu very punishable.

pokes could use some slight nerfing, espcially c mp.

jab shoryu should also have a couple more landing recovery frames, or it should do less dmg, say about 110. But if they nerf his c mp and ex tatsu this probably won’t be necessary. its just lp shoryu is extremely safe for a such a mashable reversal that does big damage and can lead to ultra.

Fake hadouken rofl are u serious. How about we just give him a fireball that covers the entire screen?

  • His ultra damage needs to do LESS damage just because it is so flexible…

  • Remove the connecting of ultra after trading with srk…and lp.srk => ultra

  • Decrease arc of his air tatsu…so he can’t run away in corner or at least less safe if he tries to run away…why does Ryu need to run away anyway?! He has all the options in the world for everything…

  • Decrease Ex tatsu damage from 200 to 130…just to list the other non-ex versions’s damage (100/110/120) …Ex Tatsu’s damage is really ridiculous considering it can connect to itself or ultra in the corner…Keep it nonpunishable because most ex are not punishable anyway

  • Forward + Hard punch needs to be nerfed…either make it one hit so it is at least focusable or make it -4 on block…it is at freaking 0 on block right now

mp and fp SRK don’t knock down.

Actually if they didn’t knock a grounded opponent up in the air, there would almost certainly still be enough hitstun to do DP > FADC > Ultra/Super.

The difference would be that the timing would be MUCH harder.

lp.SRK FADC Ultra would still be possible.

Did you :wonder: look at my :lame:ken posts? I’d rather see the army of Ken rise to the challenge of burning SRKs mix ups that don’t always kd. However, this makes Ryu’s FACD SRK a contender for mix ups and his single hit srk dmg would be king. mp/hp SRK would have a ton of hit stun even if they weren’t safe on grounded hit. :xeye: imagine if Blanka could FACD his balls off.

but if… Metsu SRK is lp.srk > mp.srk > Kenjite.srk with Sagat ultra properties… then srk will still kd for easy FACD ultra fun.:chat:

How much hitstun did mp and fp SRK have in ST?

enough that HP.SRK that didn’t kd had the foe recovering a few frames (3 maybe ?) into you coming back down (i’m more familiar with SSF2 than ST though and it’s been awhile)

Nerf Ryu by Buffing him.

Increase LP DP’s recovery so that you have to be very precise to hit ultra from jumpin. Make MP and FP DP’s MORE invincible so they don’t trade into Ultra.

That’s pretty much it.

Well, Ryu’s got an 18 frame dash, and his ultra’s startup is around is 10, so for the Ultra to connect it would require around 29 frames of hitstun, which is quite a bit. Blanka balls do 26 frames of hitstun, which is more than Boxer’s dash punch.

I would like to be able to cancel air lk or lp with tatsu just like in the other sf game .
it s a small thing but it s kind of fun

also it will be nice if you can do air tatsu using tiger knee and qcb uf motion just like in other sf too.

i never add trouble to punish is jab shoryu so i don t really use it, I will try this more as it s seems many people complain. but generally people just punish me.

may be it s because of online lag that you feel it stronger?

give him f.mk with propriety to counter crouched poke and to change side if your opponment is on the ground

that all ryu need, then you can nerf some of is way to land ultra or just nerf the ultra to make it max 250 domageb natural

and please change the domage scaling to make combo worth it…
how come jump hp , cr.hp, ex tatsu ultra using 1 ex is beter than
jump hp, cr.mp cr.hp hado, fadc, cr.mp. cr.mk. ex hado, ultra…

it would be nice if diong advanced combo was usefull and it will add to the game some fun to watch and to play.

I would say this should be the case for ALL uppers, since that would make them more reliable and stuff that trading crap… But it would also make it impossible to time you cross ups just right to hit em in the back of the head when they’re attempting to shoryu.

I’m assuming you would still land in enough time to punish their whiffed upper, but I like stuffing those shoryukens with cross ups. :stuck_out_tongue:

Why in god’s name should Ryu get MORE invincible frames on ALL his DPs…when they don’t even cost meter?

You realize that MOST of the cast has to spend meter to get a wake up/AA move that is even close to as good as Ryu’s basic DP???

the quick fix on trade to ultra to me would be make him air born on 1st hit frame, :xeye: not add invinc frames.

Except if he was airborne on the first hit frame, I think it would be impossible to FADC out.
