How about make only ex shoryu able to beat out meaties on wakeup?

Actually im more curious at what you guys think if all wakeup uppercut like moves needed ex versions to beat out meaties?

So with full meter you couldnt do two safe dps but only one. Wake up to ultra would require 3/4 meter

I think that if meatys actually WORKED on shotos in SF4, the general whining would change from.

“WAAAAAAAA why is this game so turtley??? I can’t jump at Ryu!!! wAAAAAA!”

To:

“WAAAAAA why is this game so offensive??? I can’t do anything on wakeup except block and then I get mixed up and I lose! Why is this game so offensive???”

You can’t really make a change like that for the shotos only …either nerf the reversal window for the whole game, or leave it and deal with the way that ruins meaties for any character with a strong wake up game.

Well I didnt mean just the shotos. Just everyone that has that magical reversal. I would have more fun if they made it like that. Chun rufus etc need to use ex to attempt a get off me move. Why not make it for everyone else?

If that is the case then i agree, but in that case it would have been simpler to just say “Restore the reversal window to what it used to be in 3s”.

In my opinion, reversals should be earned not free.

Wasn’t 3s one frame? Do we even know what it is in SF4? I keep hearing different numbers thrown around.

I’d be fine with three frames…its too strict to mash, but easy enough that anyone should be able to hit it with enough practice.

Not too sure about 3S but ST is one. I can see the window being bigger than in SSF4 that due to EX moves.

Reversal window in IV is 13.

I actually dont mind the easier reversal window, I just think the way the games setup… having wake up dps should be an ex version or else it can be stuffed by meaty attacks.

If they shorten the reversal window hopefully its no more than 3 frames. But still I think people will get dps if they wiggle the stick d and df and mash all the punch buttons unless they make it 2 or 1 frame. So I also hope they adjust/get rid of the shortcut system…but that won’t happen.

Meh, they were too easy for my taste in 3S as well(very much doubt they were one frame). Make them like in ST and you might have a man’s game :wink:. To really change this you’d also need to get rid of the easier inputs. It’s the combination of both that make it so easy to do reversals.

It’d be hilarious to see the Scroto army try to mash their way out of stuff with a 1 frame reversal windows and no shortcuts. :lol:

They’d get meatied on wake up so much and so hard they’d get an aneurysm. Plus they haven’t even learned how to block cross-ups yet so that’d make their heads explode too without easy mode auto-homing shoryukens. Then they’d finally start blocking and everyone would throw them over and over again. and they’ll complain about throwing being cheap again. :devil: :rofl:

Yup but one should also not be worried about having to block to bait a reversal.

well… I think everything is fair game. If you block and then get grabbed, it doesn’t mean you lack skill, you just got unlucky.
