Nah, if anything sim is overrated because of iyo and I think he’s only gone down on the tiers since then. A lot of wins that sim gets comes from people just not knowing the match up at all.
Hell yes mate. I SRK > FADC into Raging Demon all the time. That shit’s the shit.
Somebody talked about how the scrubs and flowcharters would be very unlikely to abandon Ryu and I agreed. That was pretty much it.
That’s so pro. I still can’t get the timing down for that one.
cr. mp xx ex hadouken xx ultra 2 if c.mk doesn’t work? Will this link to full ultra? that would be so worth it.
I doubt it. The reason Hadouken FADC could link full Ultra II is because it leaves them in hitstun. EX Hadouken FADC leaves them in knockdown. Unless there’s a juggle state on Ultra II’s first hit, it won’t hit full off any juggle, including EX Hadouken FADC, SRK FADC and EX Tatsu. The latter two are already confirmed not to land full Ultra.
yeah you are very right. Well we will see. If there is one good way to land the ultra 2 outside of an fa and corner combo then I feel that it is worth using
Going by the translation, the guy who did the corner combo into Ultra linked a jump in attack, 3 normals, before doing a fireball, FADC, Ultra 2 which leads me to believe you could probably do something like low forward, fireball, FADC, Ultra 2 anywhere on stage as long as you’re close enough. The only thing we have to hope for now is that it won’t be a very tight link like 1 frame. If that’s the case then 99% of us can say good bye to ever landing that in a real match. Hopefully the link won’t be so tight that even regular players like myself can make use of it. If not then I guess I along with most others will stick with Metsu Hadoken.
Is having aduken still advantageous in super?
would using lp fireball make the link easier becasue the fb travels slower giving you more time to get in? I don’t have a real good understanding of street fighter mechanics.
Yes it is. You’ll still be chicken for using aduken though.
Honestly Ryu feels about right nerf-wise. They went overboard on Sagat IMO, that match is now solidly in Ryu’s favor I’d wager.
I would agree with that if Ryu’s SRK didn’t look like it had such terrible priority.
Seriously, Ryu’s SRK looks like it would trade with an empty jump.
Welcome to Vanilla Ken’s world bro.
What do you mean? Ken medium SRK works just fine as an anti-air.
What I’ve seen so far (especially the Juri vs Ryu training vid) are Ryu using lp srk as antiair on wakeup. Even in SF4, it trades all the time if you’re using lp srk. And even when using hp srk, if it isn’t a deep srk, it does trade with a lot of different jump in attacks. I’ve yet to see a video of someone using a deep hp srk to antiair to conclusively say that the srk has been nerfed.
Maybe not as much, but you can bet on using it still being chicken.
Hell, forget trading, around 7:00 in Juri’s jump in on wakeup is beating Ryu’s reversal SRK clean. O_o WTF?
I thought Buktooth or someone said SRK’s were losing to/trading with meaties, they probably have at least one vulnerable frame like LP srk’s do now.
It looked to me like the Ryu didn’t even do anything or screwed up the srk motion If srk was beaten clean - there’d be “counter-hit”. And even then it’s not so uncommon to have lp srk beaten clean by certain angles of jump kicks (Zangief’s lk, Akuma’s dive etc)
But what do I know… I’m just another fireball tossing scrub anyway.
Ryu was definitely doing an SRK(you can see the smoke behind him).
That’s true. My apologies.
** I’ve tested on vanilla SF4. Even now his lp SRK can be beaten clean by Chun Li’s j.hk on wakeup. So the video actually didn’t confirm anything changed.
I’m more interested if he keeps his hp srk invicibility frames though.
