Several teams. Some including A groove Vega , Blanka , Sagat some with Akuma Ken Ryu , but i think the one your thinking of is C-Groove Guile , Cammy , Sagat ( mostly ). He didnt really have a team i think , but did some real sick stuff with Guile , Sagat , Cammy and Ken. Also his is the best Ryu ive seen , but that doesnt say much i guess.
damn, that vid made me really hope that capcom does an HDR/MVC2 treatment to CVS2. Sure, it kind of sucked once RCs were introduced but it’s still a lot of fun to play.

The Hurricane kick cannot go through other shoto fireballs, only over Sagat’s low fireball
No trade hits with at least a frame of a light dragon punch
If you hurricane cross up in a loop form, the kick should be able to hit them in the back
Either close or long range
Make it easier to cross up and ex hurricane because at a certain height you cannot use it anymore in the air, at least up to shoulder height instead of head ish area.
A stronger overhead move, about the same as a Heavy sweep kick.
The fireball ultra being able to hit them up close unless they use a move to get out of it.

Seeing as how basically every recognized player that has actually PLAYED ryu in SSF4 says he’s the same, probably no switch. I think the ryu army might have been dealt a fatal blow however

I doubt it. I mean wong went all fei long on people’s asses a while back and that didn’t exactly bring the poor bastard up in the rankings and remember that Daigo mainly played Ryu in ST and he was not considered to be even close to top tier (upper mid but certainly not high).
Daigo will use whoever he feels is powerful and meshes well with his play style, the tiers have nothing to do with this.

fact is daigo has used strong characters in every game. it’s not like he’s looking at the tier lists and going “hmm im going to pick that guy” obviously because he’s good enough that he can figure out who is strong for himself. but in picking the character who he feels he is strongest with tiers are inevitably going to play a role.

lol actually, its the definition of “close to high tier” not top tier. check daigo’s track record. nearly every sf game he’s played he uses a shoto. period. sure he has secondaries, but i believe 9 times outta 10 if ryu/shoto is in the game, daigo will play him(the one exception being cvs series)
Dunno too much about him, but i know shoto is almost synonymous with daigo lol. so in the end, u can say all this about tiers playing a role, but only time will tell. one thing i do believe, tho, is if tiers do play a role, he’ll be switching to a better shoto, if anything, but i doubt other characters, despite their being higher tier.

I’m pretty sure daigo will pick whoever is competitive, I mean he is a competitive gamer who plays in tourneys and shit. He would not pick ryu if he was low tier, that I am pretty much convinced would be the likely case.
Ryu is the superior shoto and they really haven’t change Akuma accept for his RH loop so if he didn’t play him 4 I doubt he’s gonna use him in Super. Ken is ass in 4
