Dudley doesn’t have a projectile. He had a taunt in 3S that shot out a rose that could be considered a projectile. It did virtually no damage and wasn’t comboable.
Dudley is good because he is pure rushdown, has a solid way around fireballs (his ducking completely goes through them, kind of like TAP but less telegraphed) and has apparently a hundred ways to get the Ultra in. you’re going to have a had time keeping him away as Ryu. From the sound of it he was designed to destroy Ryu and make him feel violated.
Wow, sounds like a great character. Is he a better version of Boxer? Sagat and Boxer are my most difficult matchups at the moment and if he’s better then sf4 boxer then I’ll have my work cut-out. Still tho, I look forward to the challenge. Is Dudley a charge character?
look at this

I see what you mean. This guy is gonna be strong. I wished I had experience with 3s, so I’d have an idea of how to play against him.
Daigo’s Guy was friggin amazing.

In 2004 Daigo used Balrog to rape John Choi and his O.Sagat (by all accounts a broken character) like no pro has ever been raped before.

He won’t have his rose shenanigans anymore I don’t think. However I do think his close/mid range game will be monster still, his overhead mixed with his crouching HK that juggles was hell to get around in 3S. Won’t be as strong in SSF4 though I don’t reckon due to how dangerous reversals are.
Thanks for giving me the low down on Dudley, I can see what all the hype is about and how people are predicting him to be S tier. But you never know, I’ve got a feeling that Chun Li might top the tier listing as she doesnt seem to have been nerfed in anyway and her Ultra II looks good.
TBH if they kept rose the way it was in 3S it would be OP as hell. Not being able to parry it and all.
No, he’s not a charge character. He’s boxer with a dp and without the boring
From reading about the rose, its a really interesting tool. He can throw it at you in the corner, it wont do any damage but at same time it can be used as an extra hit in a block string! do we have confirmation whether this has been included/not included?
Plus his backswing seems interesting where he takes a step back and the rushes back in with a punch, would be great to bait throw-techs and wakeup reversals.
Anyways, enough of the love-in with Dudley, this is a Ryu changes thread so apologies for going off onto questions about Dudley. I just hope Ryu has all the necessary tools to take on the new characters.
He also has a pretty beastly Guile. He was the big reason for the temporary surge of Guile’s popularity for CvS2.
his boxer vs sagat match is insane. of course it would be suicide to pick ryu against O.Sagat so the pick makes all the sense in the world, but that’s another story. He really makes it look easy to get in on Sagat when he’s zoning the tar out of you.
I guess this Daigo chap is much better than I first thought. Being good with that many characters over long periods of time means he’s exceptional.
- He basically invented v-akuma
There are a lot of people who hate on Daigo, don’t believe it. The guy is genuinely exceptional. He has been playing pro since before a good number of people here balls dropped. He approaches the game as a true sport and seeks pretty much to perfect his game. Few others practice street fighter and all it’s iteration like Daigo has.
And few have the raw talent and the uncanny ability to read the other opponent. He’s basically got the combination of yomi, execution and the balls to keep pushing even if it looks like he’s going to lose. And he does lose on regularly but he wins far more AND he’s notorious for making some of the craziest comebacks in the history of fighting games. The man is a legend for a reason.
i found my new signature,lol
Did I say something stupid?
