I hope this is really a joke thread. Ryu needs no improvements whatsoever. He can juggle into ultra way too easy off of trades, his strength is overpowered, has better shoryu than even Ken, can EX hadouken easily after trades, his EX shoryu beats EVERYTHING, and he has the shoto mid air tatsu which can not only beat jumping opponents but his EX version can escape ultras or supers (as well as regular version retreating away). He needs to be nerfed, we get it Capcom you have a thing for shotos. Best footsies and reach as well.

only thing ryu needs is his ex tatsu either needs more recovery frames so its very punishable on block, slower startup, or way less damage. Really should be punishable tho.
c. mp could use another startup frame, or one less frame advantage on block. Actually it should either leave him at even frames or even at -1. He already has great zoning ability, he shouldn’t have top tier pokes along with it.

Ryu needs nerfed, he’s the only character with no weakness in the game, even sagat has slow speed and less than stellar footsies.

His weakness is being predictable. It really takes the correct use of all Ryu’s tools to shine. Punishing your opponents mistakes and unsafe moves is where Ryu practically is broken.
Can’t beat Ryu? You’re probably not forcing him to be offense enough to make mistakes.

Ryu is so basic he should never be top tier. He belongs in the middle.
The only think I would really like to see changed is that Ryu would have to do FADC when he hits you with his DP to go into Ultra. Meaning that if the tip of the DP hits you, he can’t combo into Ultra. And if he wants to combo into his Ultra using DP he always needs to have EX stock.
ryu’s fine, would like to see the fake hadouken though

His ordinary hadouken has such low recovery that there’s no need for a fake hadouken.
Learn to use it right and there’s pretty much never an opportunity for you to punish it.
