How so exactly? I assume by doing command grabs in between the blockstun of the bolts, right?
yup. and if they wanna duck, instant overheads
if they want to chicken block, Hoodlum Launcher H. command grabs between the bolts. high/low mixups allover the place. Beam causes stagger so you can follow up with a full combo or tick command grab setup
He LITERALLY becomes a walking frame trap monster. And the incoming mixups with crossup pipe/Hoodlum Launcher L/jumping medium backed with strange assist is mad good. Pretty much read your opponent. With two right guesses he’s mindfucked. i repeat MINDFUCKED
im going to local casuals tomorrow after flexing at the gym. they have a stream setup. i’ll post up so i can showcase how deadly Haggar strange can be.
well Haggar already has plenty frame advantage with Hoodlum L and Axe L and pipe so yeah this will make him nastier.
really liking what I see with Haggar Dorm Strange right now.
Any thoughts on x23 and haggar? My team is getting stale so i want to switch it up and I was looking into some crazy stuff with x23 and bolts assist. Dont want to drop the mayor but this team iss getting stale and I am screwing up more because of it.
Didnt someone put together a post with everyone’s assist in relation to haggar? Or was that just for Frank West?
I was trying to do that way back when. would be time consuming but if you guys want I can take the time to compile it all if there is interest in it.
Ankle Slice for X-23 for unblockables.
Bolts of Ballsack to help them both get in and land Pile Drivers/Decapitating Slice/Durt Nap
Lariat so that they have setups on incoming. and X-23 can go for Decapitating Slice.
Haggar is a great battery so I don’t see any problems with Haggar allowing X-23 to land several Durt Nahps.

Edit: I’m going back to my Haggar Chris Taskmaster team by a friend’s recommendation. having three seperate teams for my favorites wasnt really working out.
Wow, I was thinking the exact same thing. Haggar can convert with her off most throws with ankle slice, saves the ground bounce and everything. I think they’re great together. Thinking about who would be good for Haggar/X-23/??? and Haggar/???/X-23.
I think for the first Haggar/X-23/Strange is pretty optimal for X in the second spot. Problem is I can’t figure out a way to extend with Haggar’s assist and ankle slice. Bolts is sick for neutral for both characters, Haggar can extend off it, and actually so can X-23 (launch and bolts, H CS+L TA+L, land while they get hit by bolts #2, st.H relaunch). Ammy would be ok, Dormammu would take a bit of work, but benefit both characters immensely in combos and keeping people still. Nova wouldn’t be bad, a low and high assist in the same team, deprderpderp.
I’m looking for a similar team, and I was thinking Haggar/Task/X-23, but I’d like some other thoughts on who’d be really dirty in that team second.
I think haggar really needs a specific character in the 2nd slot. Haggar benifits immensly from a thc “bullet super” in the 2nd slot . Dante, arthur, dead pool, rocket raccoon and modok all allow haggar to follow up after a thc and usually end up killing most of the cast. I’m sure there are others but those are the easiest in my opinon. All of those characters have great assists for haggar on point and there are pleanty of anchors to that work well with the characters meantioned above. Hawkeye’s quick shot assist and arthurs daggers are i think the fastest projectile assist in the game at 34 frame start up the only difference being daggers are active for 21 frames with quick shot is active for 9. Haggar can combo off of those from everything but a backwards air throw. Dormammu and shuma as have been discussed here also have amazing synergy with the mayor, shuma probably being one of haggars best pals in regards to combos and mix ups. I have also been having a lot of fun with vajra assist backing up haggar to swat my opponents out of the air. From any ground combo you can call vajra right before hoodlum launcher L, toss your opponent into vajra and catch them again with another hoodlum L making vajra both a defensive and a combo tool. I am also playing around with leveling up frank after giant haggar press and dhc into swords with vergil. So many options so little time I need to focus.
Hrm…thanks for the suggestions. I thought about them a bunch, and my thoughts on how they’d work in Haggar/???/X-23 are as follows:
Dante: Probably the best choice, just I have never ever played Dante before. That would require more than a bit of work, but my god, Jam Session works amazingly with Haggar, and X-23 for that matter. Safe DHC, and Dante would be able to do some nice damage off a Haggar TAC…and late game any hitstun-heavy Dante move can cancel to devil trigger DHC to Dirt Nap, kill everything ever, as well as the unstoppable incoming Dirt Nap…I might just have to learn Dante, this all sounds too good.
Arthur: Great assist for everything, but he cannot extend for X-23 the way I’d like, him and her would both pop XF for their kills and they’d step on each others’ toes to do so.
Deadpool: I’d have no neutral assists but quick work…nah.
RR: Spitfire assist, do eet. It gives haggar great extension and allows for a steady approach, and even command throws in between the shots. That would be hot, but RR would be best with a lockdown assist in third (Haggar/RR/Dorm sounds hot, though).
Modok: Now that would be a weird team. Beam assist or bomb assist has interesting neutral potential, and the THC is good. Problem is X-23 doesn’t have the greatest assist for modok, and vice versa. He’d be sick with Haggar/Dorm, but not Haggar/X-23.
Taskmaster: You didn’t list him, but I think he’s great with Haggar/X-23. He’s got a beamish assist, works well with mirage feint confirms, builds meter like crazy, and gets good mixup potential with the low assist. And, personal reason, I’m better with Taskmaster than any of the other characters on this list. Problems with it, though, no one on the team has great conversions on super-jumping characters.
Dorm: Yeah, I always feel weird about Dark Hole being my only neutral, but both X-23 and Haggar extend with it, it helps both their neutral games more than most, keeps them still for a Dirt Nap, and, bonus, Dorm gets hundreds of benefits from Lariat, and gets even scarier mixups with a low assist. Keep Dorm second for better incomings on character 2, as well as possible TAC stuff, or put him third to make sure X-23/Dorm is in the right order for some kickass neutral and combos.
Shuma: With Ammy/Vergil/Strider anchor I could totally see this working. Shuma and Haggar are good friends, just slap some anchor material in the back and they’re respective gaps in neutral game can be filled by XF3 cheese in the back. Shame I don’t see this working with X-23.
Vergil: Honorable mention, because I don’t think he has enough neutral-game applications as an assist to fit the bill, but he’s pretty hot on this team nonetheless. Haggar gets wonderful extension, and surprisingly good neutral game augmentation from judgment cut assist. Vergil swords DHC is a kill, no question. And Vergil gets an otg for more consistent conversion to sword loops with X-23 behind him. Vergil doesn’t have a quick horizontal assist to have as bitchy teleport M stuff. And Haggar gets limited neutral, and X-23 can’t really do much with either assist, but it still seems like a powerful team nonetheless.
Well, there’s my rant. I’mma try to learn Dante, and keep Dorm or Taskmaster there as a placeholder for the moment.
Don’t forget Chris. Gun fire can be used for followups, his Grenade launcher hyper OTGs for THCs and allows Haggar to follow up afterwards.
Right. He might actually be pretty okay with X-23 anchor.
Actually Haggar Chris X-23 might work. You just have to be careful of DHCs as Chris’ is only safe if he gets off the second grenade. Haggar’s are definitely unsafe. a low assist with X-23 sounds like unblockable setups.
And the big benefit here is BOTH Haggar and Chris have several things to offer X-23:
[]Haggar and Chris are both EXCELLENT batteries. This means we have possibility for at least 2 Durt Nahp on several occasions.
[]Did I say Durt Nahp? yes I did. In fact, Haggar’s lariat assist (and his Pipe assist due to retarded hit/block stun) can lockdown, so on Incoming Laura get’s an easy Durt Nahp.

Chris’ Gun Fire come out slow compared to other projectile assists. This might be a great way to actually land decapitating slice.
I like the third bit. I didn’t think of that one. I used to main Nemesis/X-23/Hawkeye before I found out how booty it was on zoners. I’m going to try that, but Dante has a few benefits I kinda enjoy as well.
Shame Tasky really gives the team nothing against superjumpers. Him and ankle slice would be pretty tricky if I just altered the timing of swing+assist a tad in either direction. I’m thinking Hawkeye or Dante would be the optimal second for Haggar/???/X-23, but I’m definitely considering Chris now too.
Actually Doctor Strange with Bolts assist >_>
beam to get in.
gap between beam for Command grab/Decap slice.
oooo I’ll have to try that
Oh, and someone on the X-23 forums made this a while ago, with X-23 and bolts you can launch+bolts, j.H SP+L QCF+L, and they fall onto the second bolt, allows for a st.H and relaunch, and does nice damage.
I love bolts, but I run Strange in another team as a method of helping Nemesis not suck, and I want to try something else. Also, he’s badass in third slot, but I feel he wouldn’t get much use out of X-23’s ankle slice if I kept him in second, and I really like XF3 Laura. Edit: teleport j.H and ankle slice might actually be badass, so this may have some potential.
But that is a good idea, Haggar and strange are BFFs, we’ll see, I am going to test some people in this team composition starting tomorrow.
