TBH i dont like the whole buy the dlc gems to get better boosts business. Whilst i don’t agree with it, i can understand someone using the cliche “dont like it dont buy it” motto on me. The gems will have an effect and like you said, a combinations of gems might decide a close match. I personally believe alot of the matches, if skill prevails, wont come down to who’s got the better gems. Plus everyone else seems dead against them so hopefully no-one will buy them or there will alot of rooms where people won’t use them. The gems im keeping an eye on, i think only time will tell how much they influence matches
you must be new here. people in the “FGC” regularly spend $200 on arcade sticks, $2000+ in travel expenses for tournaments, and devote thousands of hours and years of their lives to their game(s) of choice. spending some extra money to support capcom is a trivial expense, and a non-issue, to many members of the FGC.
obviously that’s not true for everyone, but it’s true for enough people that you probably won’t see the “FGC” as a whole, get upset. I myself would have preferred to just pay $100 out the gate for the full game, if thats how much capcom felt they needed to charge to justify the expense of making the game. If i was going to play the game for a week then i wouldn’t bother, but im probably going to get 3+ years out of it, so $100 would be a fantastic bargain.
CapCops got to it -.-
LOL yeeeup. They’re a day late and a dollar short, but yup. Of course, they (whoever is in charge of that sfxtekken2 stream and the associated twitter account) were dumb for advertising it so much anyway. -_-’
News is out, everyone knows. Will Capcom come out and say ‘ok give us a week to iron out anything and you will get all 12 guys for free’ or will ‘those are hacks they are no on disk lol £5 a character’
The fact they are on disk makes me think that maybe tournys will hack their disks in order to get all 12.
Characters shouldn’t be DLC period.
Inside fighting games; Characters play a crucial part in terms of experience towards the game. Adding more changes the experience, thus changing the game.
Plus, Capcom hearing these “I really hate that Capcom didn’t put X in so I’m not gonna get the game.” or “All my favorite characters are DLC! You mean to tell me I have to pay at least 80 dollars before I can fully enjoy this game?” stories should sent a message across by now.
Their only response: We can’t please everyone.
Well no shit when you put in Rufus over Sakura and Abel over Alex.
I don’t disagree with you there, Kooky - they really shouldn’t be. BGs, music, fine…
Character DLC is very annoying.
That said, it’s certainly better than the alternative, since I’m sure that would lead to Super SFxT… never mind you know what’s next.
I hope the hack goes viral
I’m pissed Vita gets everything day one while our wallets get raped, and we have to wait till freaking FALL? Sucks even more my mains are all in there
Edit: I missed Bryan and Lei footage?
But Sakura is in the game…
I’ve been thinking: Since SFxT uses the same engine as SF4, and seeing how it’s possible to modify the coding for the game for the PC version, wouldn’t be feasible to say you could import SF4 characters into the game and have then function fairly well? I’m thinking the focus attack would act like a launcher and the character would be able to chain their normals. Only thing I think would not function well is the cross assault and the fact that they have no running animation for tag-outs. Still I could see Honda and Oni playing as solo characters against the SFxT cast, similar to how MK hackers were able to pit Deadly Alliance characters against the ones from Deception.
Unfortunately. DEM CAPCOPS started ripping stuff down left and right (understandably so). Apparently they don’t give much of a crap though - otherwise, they would protect their content better. How log did it take to get hacked? Like, a couple days at best?
All this pretty much happen about 2 days ago…now everying seems to have resolved. . .What the fuck ever capcom…peoplr are still pissed they have to wait 6 months to play characters they altrady know exist on the disk. Personally i dont give 2 shits about waiting for those 12 characters they were not deal breakers for me. However for alot of people this isnt the case. Anyways…Capcom is going to sit on those character whether u like it or not. My guess is that agter the first wave of gems and costumes, that should hold us over until the fall when the 12 vita characters are released and well get that next set of alts too…does this sound familliar?
Technically speaking yes. According to Capcom, “debut on Vita” or whatever wordplay they are giving.
The point is, They are holding characters they know would bring in more money due to past polls and demands when they could of been in launch from get go.
But hey, this title is already worth 60$ because they said so. Adding 12 more characters will give the game more value than what price floor goes for.
(New Naruto starts off with over 70 characters. Hows that for a mindfuck.)
Very familiar. :razzy:
This DLC announcement will be a fest for PC pirates. Capcom relies too much on the thought that the characters will sell well. In my case, I’m going to buy them none the less, but not everyone will take the “extra payment for on disk content” for granted…
It seem like Ono’s twitter got blown up, and, his latest tweet is implying they might be rethinking the DLC plans. I kind of hope that the case. I don’t particularly care about on-disk DLC, in fact, I sort of get the reason even if it’s rather annoying. Having to wait 6-8 months possibly for characters already there, however, grind my gears despite me likely still getting the game.

Only bad shit is that many of these “customers” are still on mommy’s wallet so they will back-up the DLC plan.
It’s ridiculous at the sheer amount of sheep Capcom has…
Fixified for you :wink2:
Lol, I was thinking of saying balls but then I was like… “Meh… Capcom already believes to be Immortal.”
From Eventhubs:
Official statement:
Capcom has confirmed that 12 new fan-favorite characters will be available as Downloadable Content (DLC) on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of Street Fighter X Tekken later this year. The playable characters will make their debut on the PS Vita system when the game is released this fall, with the console and PC versions receiving them as DLC soon after. The character information and files were intentionally included on retail versions of the PS3 and Xbox 360 game to save hard drive space and to ensure for a smooth transition when the DLC is available, allowing players who choose not to purchase the content the ability to play against players that did. More specifics regarding pricing, dates and other additional exciting DLC plans for Street Fighter X Tekken will be shared at a later date. As a reminder, the retail version of the game will be the only disc-based version consumers will need to own and all future upgrades will come from post-launch DLC. The new characters fighting their way onto Street Fighter X Tekken are… from the Street Fighter side… Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy and Sakura will be playable and from Tekken… Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack, Lars Alexandersson and Lei Wulong will all be available.
TL: DR
No, We are not addressing the real issue. We will still push our product this way. “You” the consumer; does process the will nor intellect to challenge our marketing plan.
Pure comedy… and what’s even more delightful is that they honestly believe people head’s spin if they can’t see costumes they probably don’t give two-shits about.
EDIT: Capcom… The new “Capital-One”. “What’s in YOUR wallet?”
ugh. i feel soo meh now…lol
