Beat you out a page or so ago, man.
Noted.
Im going to go ahead and predict that Ono is hinting at this game, the new image posted on eventhubs looks kinda like a hint at jin kazama IMO
Am I the only one that thinks that pic that was twittered looks like Jin from cyberbots?!
Anyway I think it’s a horrible idea just my opinion. Unless they find an original way to incorporate a new fighting system that works for both of em. Tekken doesn’t even have fireballs WTF.
Or they could take away all projectiles away from the sf characters and just have them play in they fighting styles.
Why the other thread get closed?
Remember my friend, a NamcoxCapcom game has already happened, and the namco characters do have projectiles and fireballs, just not the tekken chars. Jin would be like a Fei Long or Makoto.
A possibility (albeit a slim one) is a cross over game between SF and Tekken but not as how people have thus far imagined it. I think it will be a mixture of 4 games:
- SF - From the clue, it will be SF related
- Tekken - Ono has been pictured with the producer of Tekken and contesting the biggest selling 2D fighter against the biggest selling 3D fighter would be news that is bigger than SF4.
- Smash Bros. Melee - It is obvious that a strict fighting crossover between SF and Tekken cannot work due to the games being so different, so maybe they will take a Smash Bros. Melee approach. Capcom already had Powerstone, which has an engine that is not too dissimilar to that of Smash.
- Pocket Fighter - With a game with the features mentioned above, the graphical style of pocket fighter would be suitable.
What do people think about that?
Cyberbots doesn’t play anything like Darkstalkers, but that didn’t stop Jin and Morrigan from showing up in the same game.
New games are built from the ground up. They aren’t taking spriterips from one and importing them into another like it’s MUGEN. All VS games are are reimaginings of characters, with their iconic appearance and moves, adjusted to fit a new engine. That’s why Sakura isn’t suddenly Jesus in Rival Schools once they give her a sidestep.
My opinion has changed since then, read the post directly above yours
It’s going to be a motion game where you control both Street Fighter and Tekken chars using Kinect or Move, calling it now.
if it is I’m going to bash someone over the head with a cinderblock.
If this rumor turns out to be true why are they unveiling something this big at comic-con? You would think they would wait till TGS seeing as to both of these companies are based out of japan. I’ll be happy with whatever it is they are unveiling as long as its a capcom fighter.
that guy said the crowd would be exctied about it so no lol
Rival Schools vs tekken would make more sense then this bullshit
So a bouncing combo game versus a spam and turtle?
Isn’t tekken 7 already in the works though?
Well, who knows what’s going on with Namco 100%, but Capcom has definitely been shifting a lot of their focus to the Western markets in these last few years. SF4 was DEFINITELY a western-oriented product. Hell, HDR and MvC2 STILL haven’t been released on Japanese PSN and Live, last I checked. And I’m sure even Namco has seen better results with SC4 in the West than Japan.
Whether it be Darkstalkers, Namco vs. Capcom or something that we wouldn’t have imagined in a million years, there stands to be a good deal for Capcom to gain for trying their damndest to market such a product to the West with a good deal of gusto. One of the most tragic thing that can be said for a number of the various Fighting Games Capcom released in the 90s, is that people didn’t play 'em because they weren’t even MADE AWARE of them. Capcom can’t afford that kind of thing this time around…
thats kool…just like svc card battle…man I wish that game was better for ds
So we’re supposed to hear about this next weekend if the rumours are true?
Correct. Next Saturday is the date.
